I installed 13.1 and still getting very low scores, when I go to device manager and check the driver properties it says
    Driver Date: 12/19/2012
    Driver Version: 9.12.0.0

This isn't correct. What is the issue? I went through and deleted all the AMD/ATI folders and registers in regedit before installing.

My experience has been the exact opposite. I use a paid driver cleaner program and having used it countless times over the past five years I have yet to run into a single issue. I can't even count the number of issues I've solved for others by using a driver cleaner program. This is especially true for AMD, as their driver packages always seem to leave traces behind that have the potential to break new driver installs (partially or completely).

Any decent driver cleaner program will completely backup any changes made, so even if a necessary file is removed its incredibly easy to restore said file.

Liking the drivers so far, the "Fan keeps running after closing an application" bug is still present, but that's easily fixable by quickly running a game and ALT-F4.
It fixed the crashes in Far Cry 3 and I hope it will do the same for Planetside 2, which I will test tomorrow.

Overall happy for the first few hours of use.
7970m. Windows 8 x64. Uninstalled the stock drivers which gave me a black screen and I had to force the reboot. Finished the uninstall, cleaned some folders and rebooted, installed these, no problemo after that.

The benefits do not outweigh the downsides of using a cleaner. Try installing drivers next time without using a cleaner and report back what happens. You might be surprised that it actually installs properly.

    Edit:
By Far Cry 3 crashes, do you mean the crashes made by that msvcr100.dll file? That's what caused a good majority of my crashes even after I downloaded another one and replaced it.

Are you all using the main link or the mobility link? The AMD tool results in a negative for compatible mobility drivers, which makes me think mobility is for non-Enduro video cards and that the main version would work for 7000M cards as stated in the release notes. I just don't want to install the wrong one.

This is really frustrating can anybody please give some advice. I realize that the driver version is correct but I am not getting good performance at all. 3dMark11 scores still p1942 and low fps in heroes of newerth.

*Update: The mobility driver works fine for me. Asder00 at Guru3D told me that the two lists of compatible video cards he posted here came directly from their respective drivers, desktop and mobility. The mobile cards, including the 7000M series, were only listed under the mobility section. I think the desktop version still works, but possibly not as well as the mobility version. In this very thread on page 4, Invincible10001 posted about how after uninstalling 12.11 beta and installing 13.1 WHQL, there were no switchable graphics options in CCC. He then stated that installing the Sager Win8 driver and then installing 13.1 WHQL over the Sager driver worked and allowed the settings to come to view in CCC. If Invincible10001 was using the desktop 13.1 WHQL, uninstalling/installing may have caused issues because the desktop version doesn't have the files needed for Enduro, while installing over the Sager driver may have worked because the necessary Enduro files were preserved. The mobility driver may contain these necessary files natively. *Update: Never mind, I asked Invincible10001 and he stated he used the mobility version.

I sent a ticket to AMD. The tool won't let me download the mobility driver, making me think that AMD doesn't want me to install it with the 7970M. But in the release notes, the 7000M is listed under the mobility driver compatibility section and not the general section. The mobility driver is 1MB larger, so it is different in some ways.

Catalyst 13.1 mobility driver really is amazing for me.

I just installed it right on top of stock clevo 9.1.0.0 win 8 driver, and it worked without any issues.

    3DMark 11 score: 6514

express uninstalled 12.11 beta 11 from the amd install manager, and installed the 13.1 mobility driver

one good thing is at least now the core clock & memory clock are showing numbers... but still so low. (300mhz, 150)

    AMD Radeon HD 7970M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-3630QM Processor,CLEVO P15xEMx score: P5232 3DMarks

    P5232 score seems low.

edit: Skyrim (ultra) i'm getting 50-60 fps. pretty much the same as on the 12.11 beta 11
photoshop filter, liquefy is still not working when i use the 7970 graphic card also.

AMD still includes a section just for 7970M improvements in new drivers! New performance improvements for the 7970M with 13.1 WHQL over 12.11 beta11 include:

    3DMark® 06 – Up to 6%
Call of Duty: Black Ops – Up to 13%
    Mafia 2 – Up to 40%
    StarCraft 2 – Up to 25%
    Skyrim – Up to 45%

Man, AMD is just beating up Skyrim with their new drivers!

With the mobility 13.1 WHQL driver installed, I got a score of P6569 in 3DMark11 with my 7970M.
    AMD Radeon HD 7970M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-3610QM Processor,CLEVO P15xEMx score: P6569 3DMarks

Jlocs, don't worry about that message. I think 3DMark11 has a register with all supported drivers, and the register probably hasn't been updated with 13.1 WHQL yet.

Maybe powerplay in CCC is set to maximize battery plugged in? I got similar scores when i had it that way, check out every setting, its not the 13.1 whql, they have worked great for me.

    MOBILITY

i have windows 7 and no problems with brightness with 13.1 WHQL, maybe its your monitor? I would check your vendor support, its not a driver issue i bet.

AH and DO NOT download/install the 13.2 beta, AMD specifically said so according to hula..

Starcraft 2 up by 25%?? Awesome.
It would be awesome if that's the minimal fps increase :p
Having a 25% increase in maximum fps wouldn't mean anything, not hard to get over 100 fps at the start when there is nothing going on afterall lol

wow but it looks like apparently for the desktop 7970 it causes flicker issues...damn

So far so good. Everything works smooth- tryed Sleeeping dogs, Max payne, Battlefield 3 mp- which now launches every single time(before it crashen richt on start), but F1 still doesant work, and when I start the exe it just hangs as a porcess, However it launhces normaly on the HD 4000. This problem is present from the frist driver that came with mi notebook, so I was writing a survey to the AMD Issue Reporting Form every week or so but they probably wont listen to one person, so please if somedy have this problem do the same :
AMD Issue Reporting Form for AMD Catalyst

Just to note also notebookcheck had problem launching the game when they were benchmarking it:

    F1 2012 Benchmarked - Notebookcheck.net Reviews
You can see that there are no benchmarks for the 7970m and they also mentined that they weren't able to launch the game, and hangs as a process.

Tranta, I tried the Mobility version only.. Not the desktop version.

Really? I get really good performance for AC-III.. Crashed the first few times just like Hitman used to with the older drivers..

EDIT: Just reached Boston. 25 FPS.

Tested the driver for a while. No problems, and the perfromance enhancement is quite noticeable (coming from stock drivers :p). 3DMark11 score is 6479, which is a bit lower than some have reported but still quite nice.

    3DMARK 11= SCORE P6426
    Windows score= 7.5

Also I found using the AMD clean up utility is much safer than using Atiman for clean installs. The CCC errors are gone for now. Though the switchable graphics option only shows "all programs" and not "recently added. At least everything is stable for now.

yop I belive its a bit lower than other scores. Try to check if you have power management on hight performance ( maybe its on balanced) or maybe you have something running in the background.
    Here's mi score with 13.1 win 7 64 bit
    AMD Radeon HD 7970M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-3610QM Processor,CLEVO P15xEMx score: P6558 3DMarks

And heres with a max overclock 1060/1580
    AMD Radeon HD 7970M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-3610QM Processor,CLEVO P15xEMx score: P7666 3DMarks

With 12.11 I was getting more than 8000 on gpu socore on these clocks, but it crashed a lot. With these 13.1 I can run 3d mark 5 times in a row and its perfectly stable.
Well I have no problem exchanging a few points for better stability :)

My power options are all set to max performance in CCC / Windows / Clevo interface. :S
Maybe it's my 3D application settings in CCC? I haven't touched them to be honest...
Other issues I've noticed with the new drivers include some DX11 games syncing framerate to 50 instead of 60, and higher temperatures reaching 93/94 °C

Any tips to increase performance would be appreciated. I never tried 3DMark 11 with previous drivers so I'm not sure how it compares.

For me none. You could benefit from trottlestop before, when the enduro issue was terrible (stock drivers 9.51), but wrom the moment 12.11 were out, trottlestop had almost zero impact on things.

Here is a run with trottlestop on:
    AMD Radeon HD 7970M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-3610QM Processor,CLEVO P15xEMx score: P6558 3DMarks
Here is a run with trottlestop off:
    AMD Radeon HD 7970M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-3610QM Processor,CLEVO P15xEMx score: P6557 3DMarks

Bear in mind that every run of 3d mark is slightli diffrent and waries +/- 20 pts easily.

Just try to right click on the batteri icon on the task bar and check and check if thats on high performance, probably yes but just in case. Also those temperatures are a bit high, I ussualy get around 72 after a run of 3d mark 11, and around 80 with that monstruos overclock. Maybe that is also the caouse of a lower score. try to lift yout laptops back, that helps a lot- put the back on a fat book or something simmiliiar so the wents can breath more.

Weird, I also have it on a zalman cooler (nc 2000), and never reach temps so high. So for those temps you probably need to repaste your gpu, thats what I did right out of the box, also you can try the foil mod, but for the lower performance I have no idea what can cause it as I have the exact same specs, eveything on defalt in ccc and set to high performance. But since games are running fine for you and everything orks fine I wouldnt bother with the 3d mark scores.
And with that 50 frame sincing try to check intel graphichs control panel and general settings- there you can choose your refresh rate
