the upcoming generation of mobile AMD gpus will be based on a further developed GCN arch, version 2.0 so to say. thus it stands to reason that any improvements implemented in drivers for the new series will also affect this year´s gen as well :)

Nice to hear! Now I'm happy. I thought we were stuck with our 7970M's (I think it is a great card, but Enduro is designed in a strange way) . Nice.
    Thank you for the information.

no warranties tho, so far everything is pretty much just pure speculation. as for the implementation of enduro, i have no idea if the next-gen clevos will be based on a muxless design like the current ones or if theyll be able to switch off enduro entirely like the current alienware machines.

Did you ever get a rec to fix this? I have 13.1 on here, was playing about 20 hours in, and now can't get past the start of a checkpoint (15 seconds in, black screen, "Crysis 2 has stopped unexpectedly")

    Hi.

I tried to install AMD Catalyst 13.1 for my eGPU setup Sapphire Radeon HD 7950. It Crashes. I experienced Blue Screen of Dead :(. Does anyone know what happens?

My previous version AMD Catalyst 12.10 run well. Do I need to uninstall the AMD Catalyst 12.10 before installing an update?

    Thank you

Bit of an interesting predicament I'm in at the moment........ I just got my new ssd up running, but updating the AMD drivers from stock is proving to be obnoxious this time around. I have the 13.1 whql download from the official site, however running the program does not actually install anything. When checking through custom install it's stating that everything is up to date even though I'm using the original 8.95 Sager drivers...... Interestingly enough though when I try the 13.3 beta update it both reads the update correctly and installs, though the 7970 failed to properly start with these driver (I'll probably try them again if I cannot get the whql going).

I'm doing the same process I used previously when I had no trouble installing them on top of the stock drivers, so I'm slightly perplexed as to why I am having this problem :(

I've tried the other steps off uninstalling current drivers etc....... nothing seems to work, my only other thought is that something is wrong with AMD's install packet, but that is highly unlikely.

Edit: Update: 13.3beta installed fine and is working well, but I'm still not sure why the WHQL is not wanting to install correctly :(

I uninstalled my old drivers and catalyst manager and installed the new driver but it doesn't seem to have worked :S Now I have no drivers and no catalyst manager...

Windows 8 x64 here. Just updated to 13.1 from old driver (12.11 I think). At least, I think I did. The information section in CCC no longer has a tab that lists my driver version.

If I go into device manager and double click on my GPU and go to the driver tab, it says 9.12, 12/19.

How can I tell if I am updated correctly or not? I tried GPU-Z but it never loads past the splash screen.

I had difficulty getting the WHQL package to stick, but the 13.3 beta driver installed smooth as butter. It's possible that the WHQL file package on AMD's site is not functioning properly, however unlikely that may be.......

Also your card should read 12.1 in the device manager if it's correctly updated, 9.12 is old.

My driver version in device manager is 9.12, but it is definitely working like 13.1. I'd pay more attention to the actual performance than the version number.

9.12 is the actual driver version number, whereas 12.1 / 13.1 / 13.3 is the catalyst driver package version number :) 12/19 would indicate that it was released on dec 19th, so it likely is the 13.1 indeed.
