    It will fit.

But you are going to need a 6990m heatsink, not the default 460m heatsink.

Wut? Oh Aduy you should join us, both the 485m and the 6990m are overkill for that game, but I rather get overkill then not!

Come on now. You can't verbally attack the guy, then tell him lets take it offline via PM. That would be like me punching you in the face, then saying lets not fight anymore. I vote for a Malibal response, then XoticPC can decide if he really wants to take it offline by saying so without a nasty counter response.

Then again, I just like to stir up the pot...

Well, I do also think Malibal deserves a counter-response.

Very interesting how the two are openly attacking one another,

but none of what they say are truth according to another.

I was quite sure that Malibal buy their barebones from Clevo and were not Sager-branded. Why would they purchase their optional parts from Sager if this was the case?

280.19 supports the 580M no need for a modded INF.

That one is in Beta, whereas AMD Catalyst 11.7 has been WHQL certified already. A benchmark on equal grounds would require WHQL certified drivers for both nVIDIA and AMD. :)

about this whole driver thing--I know Alienware has DELL drivers--do Sager/CLevo owners just download the latest from Nvidia or AMD with out any modifying of extra complications?

Nope, no complications for us. As long as Nvidia and AMD have our cards in the inf, we can install whatever we want, hassle free.

For those keeping track, the pricing on the AMD 6990M just went down. It's now only a $175 upgrade from the 560M on the P151HM1, P170HM and X7200! :)

That is awesome! Have you guys check the card to see if there will not be anything wrong with it? I just worry cause it seem like AMD rush it to complete with the 580m.

    Thanks!

if anything nvidia rushed out the 580m to beat the 6990m. the 580m is basically just a fast clocked 485m, where as the 6990m has improvements in the clocks/ number of stream processors and in other areas as well

Will the price of 6990 continue to drop Malibal? And if it does before you ship out mid-August, will you refund the extra cash paid?

I don't know if this has been linked or not yet, I started reading through the 44 pages of this topic but gave up about half way through. So, if this has been lnked already, sorry. If not, here you guys/gals go.

    6990 review

Wait a second, I just realized they weren't testing an actual 6990m but a desktop 6870 at 6990m clock speeds. So take these results with a grain of salt.

What do the Alienware and Apple users have to say? The former have had the cards for roughly a month now (they do have integrated graphics switching though).

so crossfire AMD 6990 would be real value for money with performance in terms that it is much cheaper than dual 580 and they perform almost the same?
