Ok, what is the big deal if it has a fan inside the power adapter? I just don't get it.
Suddently all bets are off because of a fan there? It's just ludicrous.

They're afraid the extra airflow might propel their zeppelins off-course, of course.

That's why the Germans didn't use NP8660s, while piloting zeppelins, during either world war. Look it up. It's true.

Edit: Well, there was the Hindenburg...

I wish the fan would give out cool air, so I can use them as air condition. Cause I am pretty hot right now.

I would think having a fan inside the brick will shorten its lifespan. Some people might claim that it will lengthen it because it keeps it cool. But think about the dust accumulation and the eventual death of the fan. Have you guys looked into how much a replacement brick cost? especially with the added fan hardware?

Like with the fans in a notebook, one should clean out the fans regularly (once every one-two months) to make sure the dust wont accumulate enough to condense and clog up the fan's bearings.

It just takes a bit of effort to take care of a gaming notebook, especially if you want it to take care of you. :)

I am sure the brick will last much longer than the laptop, I don't think it should ever be a concern.

well, the reason why I state that it will have a shorter lifespan is because bricks are usually, or for the most part, just laid on the floor, carpet, ground etc.

now, someone who lays it on the carpet is going to have major problems with dust. Mine collected dust big time, and I have a wooden floor. Yeah, I do clean very often, so this would be a major concern for me.

can you give me a pic of the brick's fan opening?

a dust filter mod can be made for the brick to prevent dust from coming through.

the power adapter shouldn't be a problem, not like it is going to break when over heated or catch on fire. I never seen any problems with any power adapters anywhere.

I would like to see a pic myself. I was referring to a Sager laptop brick I used to own that was fan less.

I'm waiting on my new rig, an asus m50. I am very interested in this Sager though, but I still need more info and a legit review.

I think the xbox 360 power brick has fan on it, but I am sure clevo built the brick to last a very long time.

I don't own any consoles, so I wouldn't know about the Xbox. But, usually, your console stays in one location -not necessarily moved all the time, I would think.

Your laptop on the other hand, you're going to move this puppy and carry it with you wherever you go. I would think this would cause issues in the long haul, especially since you will be plugging it in, and laying it on different places and in under different conditions.

Maybe I'm being paranoid, but is there another current laptop that has a fan built on the brick? This just seems crazy to me!

The 5793( 570ru-u has one also).
I think Clevo is adopting this measure to prevent accidents with the power brick.
And I personally support the idea.

Well the weird thing is the RU's had fans with orders that were shipped in May and June, and they after that they stopped with the fan.

Must've been a batch with issues than.
Regardless, I`d like to have a fan rather than a super hot power brick.
Surprisingly enough, my 230W power brick gets warm, not hot...

    ^^ same here.

My power brick gets extremely hot, I sometime have to point a fan at it to cool it down.
