Um, when did W860CUs start shipping (wasn't it OCT/NOV)? Is it normal for Clevo to release new models every 6 months?
-
No its een out les than a year so I would expect any new models.
-
DO you mean you wouldent expect any new models out, or you would... -
-
From what i've hear they stick with the chassis as long as possible.... Clearly they have tech refreshes with newer CPUS and GPUs, but that saves them money and gives us upgrades. Also, please some one correct me here but the W860CU has bad cooling and should be around for at least another 6 months or so....

W860CU? Bad cooling? What the f*ck?
-
Sorry, i meant to say doesnt have bad cooling, IE has a great cooler, exhaust.

-
Yes its a good cooler and 6 months I would expect 1 year but hey thats me being optimistic.
-
Do you mean that cooler on clevo w860cu would need to be replaced after 1 year? I am asking cuz I plan to purchase one and would like to know what problems to expect
-
No the cooling on this machine is one of the best around, it WONT need to be replaced.
-
Yeah, its supposed to be even better than the g73.

Alright, ordered with 8690 with ATI M5870 and i820qm, I figure the extra 2mb of L3 cache would be very helpful in code compilation, even if it's just 10% increase in speed it's quite worth the 200+ extra, 30 min compilation time on my current laptop with T5500 sucks, though it does give a good excuse for slacking off while compiling.
-
Ye the i7-820QM is the best performance/price....However the new Xtreme CPU is out in Q3 of this year, so Im going to hold off upgrading and buy that.
-
4 out of 5 and still nothing.
auf Wiedersehen
Sun-Kia! -
The last day is the best dont loose hope
-
If it wasn't for this I wouldn't even think to have hopes as honestly, there's nothing out there till Sandy B. -
Hmmm ye I see you point, although this is a totally different thing when I went to FAS Science conference one of the major busineses presented last. So who knows.
-
Well, we've got rumors of the x7200 plus there's been the typical price drops on the flagship models before CeBit hits, so you'd think that something is coming, no?
-
Maybe
heres to hoping, However persoanlly I dont see it not for another couple of months at least. As long as the 8690 stays the flagship for another 6 months Im happy
-
-
"...At CeBIT 2010, CLEVO will present a series of our Notebook PCs ranging from entry value to high performance..." - this is from Clevo, and the only reason I'm still hoping to see something hot out there.
-
Last day is tomorrow.
So you'll find out soon -
Speaking of which, you enjoying it? -
Ill go tomorrow, dono if they are still in the hotel......
-
Ok, I'm off to the Irish PUB , raise a mug of ale for that X7200 or E900G whatever is bigger
-
This is my first Clevo and I must say it is a nice system. Doesn't quite have the same robust build/feel as an AW, but it is pretty good. -
Nothing has the build quality of an AW. At least I haven't found such a notebook yet. -
Very true.
Although I like this system better because it is WAY lighter than the M17x. -
Just mention AW and 5150Joker is all over it. -
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
Add metal to a notebook and the build quality goes up by 50 points.
-
Today is last day @ Cebit. Relax ... Cross your fingers ... expect Clevo will make you happy today
-
-
You will see something today. You will see alot of new "somthings".
One brand new thing (never done(hopefully im right))....some of you will be like WT??? It will be very "cool" (pun intended)
If they dont show them today you will still see it within the month....like a 16 inch laptop from some company.... -
But most of the time Moo is right anyway. -
Please don't tell me clevo is releasing another 15.6 inch laptop with liquid cooling now... I just ordered my 8690...
Edit: Now that I saw the x7200 thread, don't tell me x7200 is going to be released as a 16" laptop with liquid cooling and 5870 in SLI? Holy... -
Everyone wants to act like they know something.
I know who does and doesn't, trust me. -
I just want info on the mythical X7200. -
So how big will the power supply be?
And how loud are the fans. Pretty loud I guess. -
I'm guessing they might be using something like sapphire's vapor-x technology or even OCZ's cryo technology to cool their laptop which is completely non-conventional... this will be something worthy of a WT...

Where's Gophn when you need him? -
Dont think these are the new flag ships though ? -
