P370EM works well with 9 generation Nvidia GPU with stock bios and MOD drivers.

I Think it is a Alienware Card. Work in a Alienware M17x R4. Any Chance to update the vbios to Clevo ?

There are no Alienware MXM cards out there... it's probably a clevo.. I think you should flash Prema BIOS on it on the R4 and then install in the P370EM.. should work then..

Try to verify which card it is. If it's not a Clevo, you're going to have a difficult - if not impossible - time trying to get it to work. A widely accepted rule is to use only Clevo cards on Clevo systems. I don't know of any way to modify the vBIOS to force it to work.

A little help here guys. I'm trying to update the Nvidia drivers of my p370em and I'm always getting a black screen mid instalation, I've been running driver version 359.06 since I upgraded to the 980m Sli and now I need to update the drivers so that I can use oculus rift, but every time I try a clean install I get a black screen and have to restore windows to the precious driver. Any help?

What happens if you don't do a clean install? I think there was something about the latest drivers, you may need to go to Prema and double check if installing over does not work.

Been trying to get it to work for hours to no avail, tried completely unistallling the old drivers and install the new ones but always get a black screen after reboot. After that it's system restore back to 359.06. I read something about manually modifying the inf. files before updating but know little about it. Any clue?

Yes you have to mod the inf to install the drivers.. Reach out to @Phoenix or @Mr.Fox they should be able to help you with this.. There are also a few threads on how to do this, It's simple, give it a shot..

The mod was originally created to allow you to just install the drivers as normal, modding is worth a try but it may not work. @Prema

Updated the vbios, without any issues, wiped out the old drivers using Display Driver Uninstaller, and them preceeded to install Nvidia latest wql. Instalation went normal, rebooted and tested with a couple of games and heaven dx11 benchmark ,all fine. Thanks a lot for the help everyone.

Most users champion going with the Prema BIOS. You might want to check with your reseller about flashing modded firmware, first; it may risk your warranty.

It really depends what you are looking to do, do you just like to tinker? As a gamer it depends if your games are performing well enough as it is.

The warranty concerns are certainly worth keeping in mind.

    yeah it might void it,

Yeah just looking to see what I can get out of it as I seen so many great results online and just wanted to use the potential of the gpus. I have them at around 1220mhz at the moment when I push the card further it's hard to get it stable without the temps going through the roof. I noticed from playing the division and the witcher in ultra my usage before was 97/99% now it's about 75% so I have noticed that part. So just going to see what else u can get out it

From what I've been reading from others who are on 10 and have 980ms the transitions were smooth. I myself have upgraded to 10 but have two 780s so I can't speak on the DX12. For me 10 was a performance increase on my NP9380-S, the only issue is my numb lock setting in the BIOS doesnt work (numb lock has to be turned on each boot).

i had (on upgrade) and still have absolutely no issues at all with windows 10. im still actually running an upgraded os and not a fresh install ever since the beginning of free the upgrades. the only issue i had was not from the videocards themselves but the keyboard software that controlled the led lights. im on prema vbios v2 and bios v3

    • Power throttle disabled
    • Over-voltage slider enabled and adjusted (up to a maximum of 1.2v)
    • Activated and adjusted thermal slider (to keep it cooler if desired)
    • Core overclock slider limit raised
    • Power consumption meter activated
    • Fixed 3D voltage base-line in order to stabilize OCs and voltage-match both cards in SLI systems (based on average ASIC)
    • Thermal protection @ 92c (once*91c are breached the system throttles volts and clocks in order to protect it)
    • Protection against Furmark and Kombustor GPU burnout (AVOID those software even with stock vBIOS)
if any of those seem good to you i would

Can anyone help me with my Win10 upgrade problem?

    Sager P370em
    Intel Core i7 3630qm
    16GB DDR3 1600 MHz RAM
    8GB GTX 980m singke
    Windows 10 x64 pro
    Premamod BIOS v2
    Premamod vBIOS v2

Firstly, my BIOS shows my videocard as "empty", even though the vbios revision states 84.04.88.00.C1 and build date 01/30/16, which I assume means the Prema vbios is installed.

Secondly, even with the modded INF from laptop2go, I can't install the latest or even previous 3 versions of the Nvidia driver. Am still working on Microsoft Basic Display Driver.

    Appreciate any help. Thanks!

It would probably be more helpful if you started your own thread! That being said - in bios the videocard slot being "empty" is 100% normal, its the same for me too, and most everyone out there. Look up how to change your .inf file yourself it will make life easier actually once you get the hang of it, because its really easy then to keep up to date on drivers. Also once you get the info it doesn't change much between drivers.

Here is my quest to get my 970m working on my p150em (we use the same bios!)
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/p150em-w-970m-driver-problem-win10.790165/

And a helpful link to how mod the .inf file yourself.
    http://null-bin.blogspot.tw/2015/08/how-to-modify-nvidia-notebook-driver.html

Just remember to disable the driver signature because it will turn on after the restart!

"How can I install drivers that are not digitally signed?

Windows 10 enforces driver signatures by default. This can be disabled to install drivers that are not digitally signed. Use the following steps to disable driver signature enforcement.

    1. Click the Start [IMG] menu and select Settings.
    2. Click Update and Security.
    3. Click on Recovery.
    4. Click Restart now under Advanced Startup.
    5. Click Troubleshoot.
    6. Click Advanced options.
    7. Click Startup Settings.
    8. Click on Restart.
    9. On the Startup Settings screen press 7 or F7 to disable driver signature enforcement.
Your computer will restart and you will be able to install non-digitally signed drivers. If you restart your computer again the driver signature enforcement will be re-enabled."

Thanks anassa! Your advice on (1) disabling driver signatures and (2) creating my own modded INF absolutely solved the problem for me. Installed the latest Nvidia driver with no problem whatsoever.

Yes, that string in the BIOS simply displays a value if detects a match in BIOS ID, it has no impact on any other part of the system.

Great to hear! Now you can use the same strings and info for any new driver you want! Good luck, now go forth and enjoy the 980m - don't forget to overclock! :D

Oh and don't forget since P370Em is non-optimus you can use a external Gsync monitor (if you can afford it) or even hook up VR equipment!

I know this is slightly off-topic but I just thought I'd let you know that Intel are currently working on adding overclocking to laptops that use Optimus. There's a closed beta driver right now, and people have used it to successfully overclock their internal displays. Pretty neat stuff.

    Hi guys!
    I have a P370EM from CyberPowerPC with i7-3630QM | 16Gb RAM | 2xGTX680M SLI | 120Gb SSD+750Gb HDD for 3,5 years and now want to upgrade to 2xGTX980M SLI but...
Is it real? Here on russian forum man said that upgrade 3630QM to 3840QM or above is not necessary. Does it wrong and 2xGTX980M SLI must be eqquipped with at least 3840QM?

I'd say anything less than 3940XM will bottleneck the 980M SLI in CPU intensive games like BF4 and BF1..

Another one interesting question: does two AC adapters maximum SLI perfomace really?
    Eurocom tell us YES:

I won't overclock the processor and videocard. I want sure that one 330W power supply isn't a bottleneck for 2xGTX980 SLI.

    I think the 3630QM
    980M x 1 = 100 watts ( source). Double that with your SLI configuration.
    3630qm = 45 watts ( source).

Considering the rest of the components power draw and the efficiency of your AC adapter, you should be fine with a single brick as long as you're not overvolting.

I think double power adaptors more like a marketing hint then real requirement.
