You can certainly contact our sales reps and request a different SSD as well. The actual Sager facility only deals in Intel SSDs but that doesn't mean we can't install a different offered on our site if the customer chooses to do so.

Have any of the resellers tested the 7970m in the P150EM yet? If so does it work well? Does Enduro work; the new battery conservation feature. Maybe we won't be able to see if it works until a new driver update from AMD? Is it driver/software based or do we need the mobo/hardware to support Enduro? If so that would be a really bad move on AMD's part.

Enduro and optimus are actually the same thing, just given different names. Nobody has any 7970m ES parts yet, but Mythlogic is going to test everything once it gets one (including HM compatibility).

One is from AMD and one is from Nvidia, I think Enduro is driver/software based for the most part and just powers down to 1W when not in use while optimus completely turns off the card w/ hardware.

Myth has a 7970M and have been testing it. They said the only issues they're having are with the software side of it, that's about all they would tell me though. It sounded like they got everything working, but they didn't want to comment on gfx switching or battery life until they had legit drivers

The W150ER's currently have the 650M.. Check out your favorite reseller's site

Can any reseller (I am leaning towards Malibal, XoticPC or Mythlogic (being a Michigan native)) inform me about Bluetooth?

Some of the network cards have BT built in, others do not (specifically the Intel 6300 Ultimate as I recall). I believe that Xotic has an option to add a BT card, but I do not see that on all sites.

If the Network card is without BT, is a BT card included separately?

Also, is there any more solid date other than 'end of May' for the AMD 7970M? I am leaning towards a beast of a GPU and it seems the 7970M gives much more bang for the $/Watt.

We offer the 2230 (BT 4.0) and the 6235 (BT 4.0) both are Intel cards. Our base wireless is the 2230. The Killer wireless cards and the Intel 6300 do NOT have bluetooth. However, we do offer a USB Btooth adapter if you want that also on our site.

For the other sites that have the "Integrated" wireless + bluetooth, that is a wireless card with bluetooth onboard.

Question for Mythlogic (and others if they want to chip in) - how is it that, when I go to configure a Clevo P150EM on your site, you have an option for two HDs in addition to the mSATA drive, AND an internal optical drive? All of the other resellers I'm looking at only provide an option for the mSATA and one other HD, a second HD requires giving up the internal optical drive.

(OK, assuming that is just there assuming you know enough to not add something in the HD2 option if you used the optical drive option.)

    Question for Mythlogic too.

    1. Why is it that the Bigfoot 1103 is not available on the Pollux 1612?
    2. I'm an international customer from Singapore. Is there an option to change my power cord from US to UK type?
    3. How am I able to obtain a coupon discount?

Looking forward to place my order.
    Thanks!

The bit of the cord that goes from the power brick to the wall is pretty universal so you should just be able to find one in Sim Lim for less than $10.

    1. They said they are out of stock of the 1103 until around June I believe..
    2. As the person above me mentioned, it should be no problem for you to grab a replacement from your local store. It's the same thing that plugs into the back of most monitors, tvs, power supply's, etc..
    3. One does not simply obtain a coupon...

Jk, you have to contact them directly for discounts. It's says specifically in the first post not to ask about discounts in this thread.. They usually have someone on their online chat during business hours, and sometimes later than that.

You can also PM one of the representatives about the discounts available to you. Since yours will be shipped internationally I doubt they'll cover shipping but they may upgrade you to priority/air.

    You are correct sir :)

    1) Yup we're out, until June, we bought a LOT in Q1 before they ran out and still sold through them all
    2) Sure just ask, we can swap it out usually around $10
    3) PM Us :)

    @Mythlogic:

I'm considering to buy a Pollux 1612. However, I am configuring it to be without a HDD (Inserting an SSD that I have). I am wondering if any stress tests would be carried out in this case, and if so, how? Would other stuff such as color calibration be included then?

    Thanks!

When I was considering that option they suggested that I ship them my hard drive so that they could include in the build and test it that way.

They don't need your drive to stress test the other components anyway. They just use one of their own drives.
    Don't know about calibration though.

I am using 7970 and 680 as an indicator against 7970m vs 680m :p but alas i am still waiting for the 680m specs and price to get released

p.s. not to mention 680m is most prob gonna be cheaper and have a lower power consumption as well

The 7970m isn't based on the 7970, so that's not a valid comparison. And the 7970m is $400, no way will a flagship nvidia gpu be cheaper than that. It's either going to be $500 or $850, most likely. Then again, like jaug said, nothing is likely anymore...

For some reason I cannot send any PM's to the resellers.

I am trying to do some research on resellers after a large debacle with dealing with HP. They goofed up, tried to penalize me and wouldn't compensate me anything for my time. And to top it off, they were generally pretty rude except for one out of the 30+ people I had to talk to.

At any rate, I am looking to get a laptop with the 7970M or some other gpu that can handle Battlefield 3 on Ultra (Is there anything out that can? On a laptop that is of course)

I don't know why I cannot send a PM but any help in these regards would be appreciated.

(It is also my understanding that clevo/sager are the best bang for the buck?)

I need someone to sit down with both the P170HM and P170EM, to test the sound systems, so we can know definitively which machine has the superior speakers/subwoofer.

    This seems important to me.

    Dear all members at NBR,

I have only one question to ask. Since the only one thing stands between me and the purchasing of a Clevo laptop is "time constrain".
So I would be much appreciate is anyone could tell me, which store/shop/re-seller require the least number of days for the whole process of building the machine, including the transportation time consumed.
Let say, 7 business days for the whole process.
    Thanks in advance.

Please indicate which model (even the exact configuration), what state is it shipping to, are you willing to go for faster shipping than UPS Ground...

I say this because some models and components on certain models are on a backorder for a few days or so.

All Sager branded resellers would have the same basic order to ship time... :)

    Thank you for the reply.
The model I am eyeing on is Sager NP9130. It will ship to my friend who is currently staying in Bronx, NY. She'll be leaving the states in approximately 12 days. That is why I concern about the timing.

Oh, here goes the configuration :
    Sager NP9130
15.6” Full HD LED Backlit Matte Ultra Clear
    NViDia GeForce GTX 670M 1.5 GDDR5
3rd Gen Intel Core i7-3610QM Processor
    Stock OEM Thermal Compound
    No OS
    8GB Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1600MHz
    Sager Branding
    500GB 7200rpm SATA 300 Hard-disk
    None for MSATA
Remove DVDRW Drive and Install Optical bay caddy only
    Intel Centrino Ultimate 6300 - 802.11 a/b/g/n
    No Microsoft Office
    No additional battery

The 15.6” Full HD LED Backlit Matte Ultra Clear screen is on backorder on this model till June 6th for Sager and the resellers.

However, the 95% NTSC Color Gamut screens are in stock right now.

Please also note that UPS Ground (the FREE shipping) takes 5 business days from the LA, California area (where these are built and shipped for the most part) to the NY area.

Also regarding getting your build going, Sager is closed until Tuesday the 29th because of the holiday.

So for the best results in your case because of your time constraints, you might consider the 95% NTSC Color Gamut screen and upgrade your shipping to at least 3 Day Select. :)

Amazing service even on a holiday....wow.

    Why don't you guys take a much-needed vacation? It's definitely well-deserved :D

My Question to the Resellers: Would anyone be willing to help me compile info for the 9130/50 FAQ? You're just basically answering questions for me. :p
