Yup, good to go with 270.61 as it comes.
-
For the NP5165, NP5175 and NP3250 users I added a modded inf for 270.61 supporting the Clevo version of the GT 555M and GT 520M
-
Hey!
I have Nvidia GT 540m. Can i use the inf in the description for 170.61? or is it not supported yet. Anyway i have big problems and can't install any driver updates at all. Though i tried to follow ur instructions. Both 170.61 and 170.51. It still says i have no compatibility to this graphicdriver etc etc. Need help
Very thankful for help !
Regards - K -
Have these drivers been tested on the np5165 and are known to work?
-
Which version of 270.61 did you download from Nvidia.com? is it the Verde/mobile package?
-
They work with the modded inf since theres no official revision of 270.61 with GT 555M support, the driver core already supports the card but the stock inf does not.
-
Yeah it was verde. This one - NVIDIA DRIVERS 270.61 WHQL
Also tried 270.51. hmm -
Which model laptop are you on and can you go into device manager, expand display adapters and double click your gpu, go to the details tab and click the drop down to hardware id's and tell me what the first line says?
-
Yes I have the new Asus - Komplett.se - ASUS X53SV 15.6" HD
Yeah i did what you said and on the first line it says: PSI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0DF4&SUBSYS_15F21043&REV_A1
Hope that helps you.
I tried to call both Asus and the company i bought the computer from, without any success. I really appreciate you taking time to solve this for me. If it will work i am forever thankful.
/K -
That explains it, you have an ASUS with their vendor subsystem id, the INF's I've made here are strictly for the Clevo subsystem id's.
I'll make an ASUS INF for you to use with that card and PM it to you.
EDIT: HERE
Note this INF is ONLY for ASUS owners with the GT 540M, just a special case INF to help with a mix-up, Clevo users as always use the INF's on the first post of this thread. -
Update 5/17/11 Added INF for 275.27 Beta supporting Clevo GT 555M, 540M and 520M.
-
How about 275's for 485m? Seems those are giving best performance for the Witcher 2.
-
The usuals are in there too, GTX 460M, 470M and 485M.
-
Yeah ok I explain my steps here so I do no wrong:
1.I Extract the nvcv.inf file.
2.I copy and replace it to C:/Nvidia/DisplayDriver/270.61/Display.Driver
3.Then go back, and press setup on previous window?
Well i do this, still it says that it could'nt find compatible graphichardware in the computer. This is sure a mystery. Thank you again for taking time ! Want it to work
/K -
Thanks a billion and three!

I downloaded and installed the NVIDIDA latest driver which is 275.22 but when I checked the version, somehow the version is still the old version, 265.77.
The most important is I didn't the INF. 275.26 zip. I just installed it directly.
Please help me! What should I do? -
HERE is the link you should be using to get that driver, 275.27 and will want to use the modded inf, you must've installed a different driver entirely to get that 265.77 in device manager.
-
I don't understand why but I think I had installed the 275.27 driver correctly. So, do I have to uninstall the current 275.27 driver and re-install it with the latest NVIDIA driver?
Are these the correct steps to install the driver?
1) Copy the 275.27 inf, paste it and replace the existing inf.
2) Install the latest 275.27 driver. -
LOL!
Finally, I figured out how to install the NVIDIA driver.
1) Extract the setup that you have downloaded
2) Extract the inf
3) Copy the inf and paste it to the folder and replace the existing inf.
4) Install -
After I installed the NVIDIA driver,
NVIDIA 3D Vision Controller Driver version 275.22
NVIDIA graphics driver 265.77
why the NVIDIA graphics driver version is 265.77? but not 275.22? -
Has anyone else has issues with NVIDIA Control Panel crashing after installing the 275.22 driver w/ modified INF? Everything in the control panel seems to work okay until I try "Adjust image settings with preview" under 3D Settings, then it force closes.
Reverting back to 270.61 solves the issue.
Also, may be an idiot question...but are there LCD drivers; for the stock 15.6" 1920x1080 glossy panel, or should it just be generic pnp monitor? -
The control panel doesn't crash on me but that could still very well be a random glitch with the driver rev, the inf has little say in how it operates and I haven't touched any parts that potentially could.
As for monitor drivers it's a non-issue if theres drivers installed or not, the machine already gets all the info it needs from the monitor over EDID. -
After I installed the NVIDIA driver, the
NVIDIA 3D Vision Controller Driver version is 275.22
NVIDIA graphics driver version is 265.77
My question,
why the NVIDIA graphics driver version is 265.77? but not 275.22? -

Did you completely remove the original driver? Where are you seeing the new version number? Check under the Nvidia control panel > help > system info > components. For example, version 270.61 would be listed as 6.14.12.7061.
If you've got some mismatches, you may need to completely remove the driver and install the new one again. (and possibly run driversweeper) -
Yes, I had completely removed the old driver before installing it. I got the version number via control panel.
If I check it under the Nvidia control panel, it stated that my nvidia version is 265.77 instead of 275.22
Any clue? -
In mine it says 275.27, I don't understand how you're getting 265.77 after installing 275.27 unless it's somehow skipping over installing the actual video driver.
Something is amiss here. -
How to solve this problem? Please help me!
-
Just a thought but what are you choosing during install when it pops up saying the driver is unsigned? are you choosing install anyway?
-
Anthony@MALIBAL Company Representative
Other than completely removing the old driver, running a driver sweeper, and reinstalling, there's not a whole lot else that could be causing issues short of totally reinstalling windows. It sounds like what Atmosk suggested in that your graphics driver isn't being updated, but rather the old one is staying installed (which means it may not be uninstalled properly). Try removing all the nvidia drivers from add/remove programs (may take a reboot or two), run driver sweeper for nvidia drivers, reboot, reinstall. If it comes back with the old drivers, there may be something wrong with the package you're using or the uninstall isn't working correctly. -
No, I didn't. I just installed the Nvidia 275.77 setup.
It's weird. Maybe there are somethings to do with the program files.
Where should I install the driver? program files or program files(x86)?
My steps,
1) First, I uninstalled the current Nvidia driver but I didn't delete the NVIDIA folder located at program files.
2) I extracted the modified inf and the NVIDIA newest driver.
3) I copied the modified inf and pasted it to replace the existing inf.
4) Finally, I installed the Nvidia driver. -
The driver is unsigned, it WILL pop up stating this during install, if you don't select the option "Install this driver software anyway" it will NOT install the video driver hence leaving you with the older driver.
-
It didn't pop up during the installation. It's really weird! Nvm, I'll try to reinstall it again. -
If it still doesn't work theres other things to try still, like installing the driver manually through device manager.
-
@Atmosk:
FUuuuuuuuu.... I just successfully installed the newest Nvidia driver. Thanks Atmosk

Does the 275.27 inf support the new GTX 560m?
-
I was waiting for the next WHQL driver based on that beta to come out to add the GTX 560M but I may go ahead and add it to the 275.27 inf.
EDIT: done, 275.27 v2 inf up with GTX 560M support. -
Why does the 275.33 INF zip file contain an .ini file instead of an .inf file? Is this correct?
-
Looks like I typoed when I saved it, fixed now. INF 275.33
-
I wanted to download this for my 560m, I was wondering though, why does it say on Nvidia's site that the 560m is compatible with the 275.33 when it doesn't actually work?
-
Usually when a particular mobile card doesn't work with the Verde driver it's one of two reasons, 1: the card isn't in the stock inf's at all (device id), 2: the specific vendor version of the card isn't in the inf (subsys id), and oddly enough with the 560M in this case it's reason 1 despite what Nvidia says, usually it's reason 2 though they continue to add more vendors to the Verde package as new revs come out.

NVIDIA also makes revisions on the fly without updating the actual driver version or its build/release date. For example, the Sager/Clevo GeForce GT 555M was not supported in the 275.27 beta drivers originally. However, this week I downloaded the driver to test it, and I was able to install it without needing a modified .inf. -
Yeah they added the Clevo GT 555M officially in that release.
If you check the first page of this topic I also report when new Clevo subsystem cards are added to the Verde package officially, I only make inf's when one or more cards are missing from the official inf and check each release extensively before making an inf, as of 257.33 the only one missing is the GTX 560M but it will likely be in the next Verde release. -
Hi Atmosk, I saw you helped some other guys looking for a Asus modded inf.
I have a G74SX test unit and I'm trying to install more recent drivers (only managed to install 268.37 so far, anything newer won't work). Could you help with a modded inf for this one (Nividia GTX 560M) for 270.61 (latest WHQL version) or 275.33 ?
Help would be greatly appreciated. Sry for busting into your Clevo topic, I really couldn't find any suitable INFs for this unit of mine and thought you might be able to help.. -
PM has been sent.
-
Thanks for it. This really helps a lot as there is something wrong with the orginal driver with my Sager laptop
And also, I want to use it to do CUDA Programming on it in Linux VM, but the Developer Driver from nVIDIA does not support GTX 560M yet. Do you have any good idea? -
Do you mean from a Linux VM guest? The guest can't use CUDA.
If you're using a native Linux install you can use CUDA with any supported driver, It's still possible to mod the linux drivers if needed though I don' have a any way of testing the operation as I don't have a GTX 560M. -
Very useful information.Thanks!

This information is useful for my notebook Avell assembled here in Brazil ...
How do I edit signature here on this board??Last edited by a moderator: May 8, 2015 -
I have a question regarding the latest Nvdia beta drivers for the 580M. I understand your instructions. I extracted, went into DisplayDrivers and replaced the INF after downloading both. When I install them, I open up the Nvidia Control Panel, under 3D settings, the option to "Set SLI" and PhysX configuration is missing. It only shows PhysX without the "Set SLI". That option is available with the version 268.49 that came with my system. Its still listed though in the Nvidia Help section as something that should be there. Am I missing something here? Dont you need that option to run SLI?

this is normal, that driver just dont let u enable sli
it often happen when new card launch
