Thanks, at least I don't feel like an idiot now lol. I think the instructions should be amended to indicate whether they work for SLI or not.

If your installing beta drivers anyway you might want to use the newest Nvidia Verde 280.19 which already has the 560M support in the stock infs.

^ 280.28 is a desktop driver. You can't change the brightness when you are inside windows. The only way to change the brightness is when it is booting up.

You can see in my sig I'm currently running the 280.28 driver on my GTX 460M, brightness adjustment and all.

The problem with brightness is only an inf issue, lv2g infs are usually missing those OEM settings, the driver code it's self is universal desktop/mobile and Quadro/Geforce, the infs just designate what a specific release is targeted for.

I haven't really been posting modded infs for the desktop variants of drivers here since there hasn't been too many times a desktop release has been too far ahead of the mobile and generally my support was geared just around what mobile clevo cards were missing from X mobile release.

If anyone wants my inf for 280.28 I'll post it up, it should also be noted that 280.28 is not a regular release or beta, it's a dev build for OpenGL 4.2.

Hi I ve installed 280.28 cause it is the only one I was able to install, before I had 168.xx, I d like to squeeze the best out of the card in Dx9 but still relying on stability.
I d appreciate if you could post the modded inf or tell me which driver you suggest best f r my configuration, by the way, I never see mentioned my brand in these forums.

I'm new here, writing bad English and asking stupid questions, but don't shot me down... I have big problems with my two clevo notebooks. My first is x8100 bought one year ago from Cizmo It came with two GTX285 and win 7 pro. The whole mycizmo.com is now down. So no support there. I had several BSOD, with error code 116 and problems with kernel memory. I made new installation of OS. Changed C-drive to sdd. And no luck. I have tried several Nvidia drivers. I had only one driver from laptopToGo with modded inf which was working with SLI on. Before this mess begun.

Because I need notebook in my work, I decided to buy a new one. X7100 with one GTX485. I didn't trust to SLI anymore. New Clevo died after three months. In the beginning it was exactly same as x8100. Video card stopped responding, and then came back. Few weeks ago it was working only in VGA mode, but VERY stable then. It's now going back to Germany. Hope they can fix it...

So I'm asking what video driver I should try to my other Clevo, x8100 with 2xGTX285? I have now 275.33 (without modded inf). I think there's a hardware problem. But maybe better driver could make it more stable. It's now doing application hangs after every two hours. And one BSOD a day.

I tried to install Atmosk's modded inf's, but I'm not clever enough. I got only exe-file without any inf's from nVidia page. 280.26 was newest I found but Atmosk's inf is 280.36?

280.26 will run on your setup without a modded inf, 280.36 is a developer driver.

I'd recommend you try installing 280.26.

where do i download this modded nvcv.inf file? I downloaded the INF_280.36.zip and all it had was nvak. Also, isn't 280.36 a beta desktop driver?

    First post excerpts:
    And:
nvak.inf is correct for that rev and 280.36 is both mobile and desktop but it's stock infs support only a very limited set of mobile/desktop cards.

Even if it was a desktop driver that excerpt about interchangeability is true, the only difference between desktop and mobile packages is the inf's included with it, nvidia's core driver code is unified between mobile/desktop, geforce/quadro.

Hope that clarifies things a bit.

I tried using the modded inf...but it still said that it couldn't find a compatible graphics hardware for the 280.26 update. Should I try a lesser update?

    Which version drivers?

Can you tell me what your subsys id for your cards is?

in device manager expand display adapters, go to properties on one of the cards and select the details tab, click the drop down to hardware id's and tell me what the first line says.
