    BF3 Multiplayer working normal for anybody?

    Interesting. I've always assumed this were the case since my desktop doesn't get full gpu utilization as well.
    It always seems to have very high cpu utilization.

    well i just got my laptop finally and run 3dmark 11. normal scores but the pysics score was 8002 :O, is this normal?


    edit: i just played some need for speed the run and guess what: gpu utilization was 50% -.- but playable with always 30 fps but still....

    On a 64p map, I'll go below 30fps pretty regularly when running on High settings. If I run it on the lowest possible, I only get 35-45 fps. When on ultra, I'll get 25 fps. There's no way the difference between low and ultra is 10 fps, there must be a problem.

    Campaign with Ultra settings is a breeze though, no problems there. I'll drop to 30fps sometimes (pretty rare,) but I will maintain a pretty steady 50-60 fps.

    Skyrim, on the other hand, with 50+ graphical mods, some of those being very fps heavy, I'll keep 45 fps at ultra. Vanilla I get 70-80.

    12.7b drivers, np9150, 3610qm, 7970m.

    Ok,I was saying that I dont have problems in multi with my 7970.I receive few pm about to proof that.I record video and I will upload to Youtube but my upload connection is slow and it will take long time.I will post link later.

    can you enable fps graph as well? looking at your utilization its not looking too good - i can hit 99% as well, but yours, just like mine is dropping to 60% when it shouldnt.

    What utilization do you get in furmark? Maybe yours is running hotter because of higher utilization?

    im still downloading bf3, man this wireless network card sux...

    tested crysis 2 btw and im getting 97%+ utilization all the time with 55-80 fps

    It's great that you can get it to run on ultra, but is there any way to get the game to run at a constant 60 fps by turning the settings down? Or does the utilization drop with it, lowering the fps?

    makes me wonder if this is a hardware difference between our cards then (maybe yours is the 1st batch, mine is 2nd batch repaired?).. i have reinstalled windows for the 5th time yesterday, the same result no matter what I try. if you remember can you post which drivers in which order did you install?

    Yesterday I install ssd on my laptop.I insall drivers from cd.After that I just install 12.7.I did NOT uninstall or delete original drivers before 12.7 insallaion.
    I just install 12.7 on top of the old one.I chose expres installation and install all items.
    My laptop was build on june 8.

    I can also get almost constatn utilization on ultra preset un caspian border when theres like 20 people on the server .. But Ultra with 4xmsaa is too demanding- it goes down to 25 fps somethimes even lower so I prefer to lower it to 2xmsaa or lower the shadows or something else. Thats when you get lower utilization. Fantomasz try playing something like kharg island or back to karkand if you have the expansion and lower your settings to high preset or custom and lower a few things and you wil lsee that you have the same problem. Here is a graph of my gameplay

    This is from two gameplays as you can see in the middle theres a small pause between changing servers. In the frist part I played on caspian border with maybe 20 players on ultra preset-Almost constatn 98-99%. In the middle of that part on the same server I changed it to high preset and you can see the utilization went lower and I had the same fps If not worse.
    Then theres a small pause- I changed the server to full 64 players Ultra preset utilization was droppong constantli and fps werent playeble - 30-45 . In the second half of that part I changed the settings to low - utilizatoin around 50-60 % and fps 35 -80 but still not constant.
    I know that somebody would complain that yeah 30 fps is alright but no It's not. If the person You are shotting at has constat 60 He will take you down with no problem. 60 fps is what I wanted, and right now it's not possible and I dont belive that somedy on a clevo can do it when even the manufacturer had bad utilizaion.
    this is also preset with crysis 2 in some places , of course with dx 11 and hi-rez. In some places it runs fien in some it doesant. Also In crysis 1.
    However Alna wake and metro playes perfect 99% all the time with perfect fps.

    U were able to install the WHOLE package? There is no enduro support in that CCC so when you do that normally your gpu won't work cuz it won't know to go through the igpu. If u truly got that to work I'd be shocked

    refund it if you still can. The time it would take to re-order with a 680 m and for it to arrive to you will most likely be a lot quicker than AMD supporting BF3 support for clevo 7970m's... true story.

    I get very similar numbers as fantomasz but now I'm thinking of installing the entire 12.7 package just to give it a try.

    fantomasz is actually the second person I've seen here saying he installed the entire package and got it to work.

    Yeah, my 3DMark11 crashes, too. When I did get it to run a test, I got very low scores but the gaming experience is the complete opposite. Lol.

    i had this problem too fanto, i just reinstalled 3dmark and it worked. I still had to try 2 or 3 times to get it to run

    Yeah I was thinking of it but there are a lot more problems around it. Firstly cash and secondly that I ordered it throught my sister in englad which shipped it to me to slovakia. So If I wanna to do the whole procedure it would cost me a lot with the shipping costs there and back :( If I knew this before I would wait a bit longer and get the 680 and had no problems .. Now i just need to wait and hope...

    Sager NP9170 here w/7970m@950/1300.

    Works perfectly for me. All set to ultra without deferred AA and motion blur; locked to vsync. Frame rates are impressive compared to my G73 w/5870m. Used latest drivers from Sager and avoided other AMD releases as they caused issues.

    Only annoying part with configuring the switchable graphics in CCC is configuring each program to power save or high performance. It only appears after you exit a program. Other than that, I'm extremely happy.

    update: Mafia II went automatically to "high performance". Didn't have to configure it.

    Just got my laptop. Game runs perfectly. Running on the ultra preset, I get about 30-50 FPS. Running on the auto set up, I get 60+ FPS. No FPS drops.

    I will check utilization later.

    So the 680M is pretty much like the 7970M without the use issue. I really hope we can get some fixe soon. I want to be able to turn some option down to have better fps like you. :(

    I get around the same performance on that map.

    The lower the settings, the lower GPU utilization I get and vice versa. I only get 50% utilization on ultra. What the hell is going on?

    Update: I get an 80% utilization in a Caspian Border server with no people. I get a 50% utilization on Caspian Border with 64 people. Not sure what's going on, but I get 99% utilization in Skyrim so it's just BF3.

    ...so, is there a hardware difference between some 7970m cards? because i dont know how to explain such differences in utilization % when i am running identical drivers, playing the same game with the same chipset and the same CPU. I dont have any other software installed that could have affected FPS.

    What drivers are you using if I may ask??Or can you do a short video of karkand - gameplay capped on 60fps?? Hawent seen anybody play like bf3 without issues how it shoul on a clevo. Sorry to bother you but I'm just trying to find the diffrencess to see if its a hardware failure from the first two bathces , or should I wait for that damn driver update to fix battlefield 3.
