Latest Control Center for P870KM1 is 5.0001.1.10
The Latest Control Center for P870KM1 in the app is 5.0001.1.10
If you install using the app it will install 5.0001.1.10
If you install using the app, the app will report you have 5.0001.1.10
If you check the file "oem.ini" under C:\Program Files (x86)\Hotkey, you will find version=5.0001.1.10

So all is good, you are probably looking at the version that shows when you put your cursor above the CC icon in the taskbar, or the version inside the CC software, just ignore that, clevo never got that right. Someone been way too lazy to tag the product version according to good codding standards :p

Thanks for the reply John :) Let me make it more clear.

C:\Obsidian APP\drivers\ControlCenter - here the version stored is 5.0001.1.07, of course I looked at the oem.ini and that is how I found out.
If I click "Re-Download" in the app, it still downloads version 1.07 and not 1.10, which is the latest.

Hmm actually, I checked again and it's confusing ..
The oem.ini indeed shows 1.10. However, the setup.ini and the setup screen shows 1.07. Which one is correct ? :p

Yes, i know, CLEVO fault, dont mind that, always look at what the app reports, i took in consideration the version messup that clevo did, so the app will report what you need to know, ignore the rest.
Also never use the "Download All" option, the one click tab should only be used on a fresh install of Windows 10. Those drivers are a full package compiled once a week tops by the server (i was too lazy to make a code where it will make a download queue and download all drivers one by one LOL. So some drivers might not be the latest when you use the "Download ALL"

The recommended audio driver for the P6XXRS line, 6.0.1.7898 has some issues, namely the volume resetting to 100% after waking the system from sleep. I wouldn't expect Clevo to put out an update to remedy this, but I've found these updated drivers to work a treat and provide better sound quality.

Any chance this could be updated in your utility?

Ahhh that´s is one of those units i no longer have in stock, would you be kind enough to check the hardware ID in device manager (for the card reader), and also tell me your OS version (please remember this app is Windows 10 only).

Can you please confirm that SBX XFI still works when using that driver version?

I'm away from my P670 for the next week but will check upon my return. I've never actually installed that piece of software. Is there anything specific I can test to make sure it works?

You need to install it and run it.
If the audio driver is not compatible it will throw a error.

Just a heads up about latest app update (released some hours ago):

    - Improved code, less connections more speed
    - Minor gui fixes and minor text changes
    - Improved console debug
    - P870KM1 now has it´s own Killer LAN / WIFI installers since the LAN is a new model and not like any other model
    - BIOS Flash tab is now complete - yes this tab is for clients only but this is also good news for everyone since i can now dedicate my time to a new tab, the "Performance" tab, which will be accessible for everyone.

    Please keep reporting any issue.

Are you still working towards linking it with TS or would the functionality be built into the utility?

Minimal functionality in the app, should tune by calling the TS included version.
The app will manage "recommended" profiles, and other settings for TS.
At least that´s what i´m thinking, but as soon as i start we will see :p

I just stopped my car on the side of the road just to check the app haha.
It´s there P870KM1-G, do you mean the version without the "G"?

Edit: Are you running the latest version? Check the ABOUT tab.
Btw just found a bug, you need to actually select a model for the about tab to fetch the latest version number, nice.... will fix it in next update :)

    Ask your point of purchase.
I did not add that bios info to start people craving, but because someone here requested the feature, to be able to at least check version.
As i said my brand BIOS will void your warranty, its heavy modified on some cases, from updated modules to custom menus and logos and even default values. If theres problems with it, it would be unfair for other vendors to have to deal with it. Best i can do is post here all stock clevo style note BIOS, still check with your point of purchase if its OK to flash.

Even for my clients, flashing BIOS and EC using the app is not covered under warranty, in case it goes wrong.
If you do not want to take any chances just ask us to do it remote.

If vendors want source code on how to do security checks and how to flash BIOS and EC inside windows i will share all code, just PM me.

Just explaining this since i already started getting emails with BIOS requests from other vendor clients.

    Thanks bro!
Still much to go and much to improve.
Its one of our projects, hopefully more useful stuff will come out soon.
Will always share if its safe for other vendor clients.
    Have fun and report bugs.
I already have some to keep me busy

In this case, does it make sense to even have the "BIOS" tab ? I mean viewing BIOS version and other information can also be done using tools like AIDA64, HWINFO64 and so on.

Just saying that providing an option to flash the BIOS via your own app and saying it will void warranty if something goes wrong makes no sense to me :)

Well this way you are not in the dark about updates, you can easly know if theres one.
And if you contact us we will use the app in a remote connection to flash it for you. So its all handy and informative.
In the past most people didnt even knew what was the last version.

As time goes by and i improve and test the process i will cover it under warranty.

So for now you can use it but if it goes wrong its not covered.

I actually dont care what BIOS my clients flash, they can flash anything and i will Honor the warranty. Only if a flash process goes wrong then its a problem. Stil i will only charge them the repair work, BIOS chip replacement should be around 20€.

Basically im just trying to stop the really, really, really unexperienced users from doing it. And thats it.

That BIOS chip doesn't sound awfully expensive! I am just wondering how difficult would it be to do the repair work oneself? Also, good on you for supporting your customers, my reseller told me that they won't honour the warranty if I flash the bios my self!

Tell you what John, put me down for one P870KM3 with octa core Skylake E and dual 1180! Should be here by Q3

Yeah but you see, the chip should be easy to burn, on the other hand the EC is not! If the flash fails during EC flash it´s a dead mbo.
I understand that a dealer will tell you "If it goes wrong there´s no warranty", i dont understand "If you flash it no more warranty for you", it´s two different things.
Can´t they just connect to your unit and do it remote?

English is not my native language so this is a bit tricky to explain:
@Rynaus you see, its not like i dont trust the app or the app itself will void your warranty it´s not like that, if the flash goes wrong because of my bios package or because of the app you can claim your warranty, if you want to play it safe always use your cell phone to record a video of the process.
What voids your warranty is IF you do something wrong with it, for instance, while flashing disconnect the AC and Battery (DUH), while flashing drop your laptop (DUH), while flashing close the lid and hibernate, while flashing your pending windows updates restart your PC (although i think i can add another security step for this), while flashing some external device with crappy drivers BSOD your unit, etc etc.

Thanks for the clarification @John@OBSIDIAN-PC. I completely understand.

I would like to add one more thing to the safety check list. Any Undervolting and Overclocking should be disabled before a BIOS update to avoid the odd case where the CPU decides to become unstable and crash/hang.

I will second @Phoneix on this. Never had any issues with updating the BIOS with overclock etc. But to be on safer side, you can just have a dialogue box with that message.

Out of curiosity, @John@OBSIDIAN-PC what language are you using? I wonder if I'd be able to help with some bits of the code.

That's what I meant. Add a warning dialog. I had undervolted my CPU by 100mv and while I was working the next day, my system hung bcoz I forgot to test the stability. I wouldn't want this in the middle of a BIOS update. Then I figured out -80mv was more stable.

@dm477 afaik, he uses Qt C++ with Mingw and gcc.

Still, pick any model and theres a lot of common drivers:
    Chipsets
    IME
    VGA
    Cardreader
    Touchpad
    Airplane
    Wi-Fi

    Should be all the same.

    Thank you.
    I think some drivers work.

I just want to ask, for the fingerprint driver. (i'm using windows 10)
It asks me if i want to repair it. Should i uninstall, restart, re-install? I've done this "repair" and reboot a few times but win10 still refuses to acknowledge that my laptop has a fingerprint scanner.

There are two types of fingerprint drivers on actual models, one you can find in P6 models, the other in P7 models.
Which did you try to install?
And does device manager show anything for FP?

Just to remember the long way that this app walked.
One the left is the first version.
On the right is a work in progress / mostly mock up, for the next update.
