I dug out the deleted folder from the recycle bin and put back the old settings_widgets.ini. Now widgets working fine. If you want to compare old and new I can upload.

 

No need, i know exactly what happened, don´t worry Control Station is just Alpha so i have not yet defined default values for stuff like the widgets, but i´m aware of it

 

I will ask again . If i buy the obsidian tool for a re-branded by novatech clevo n870hk1 can i flash and use the obsidian bios ?
If i can flash the bios will it give access to memory overclocking ?

Nope sorry.
The only way to flash the BIOS is if your reseller works with us and we will provide them instructions on how to link their BIOS so that the app can flash them.

Will your FanControl software have the ability to independently control values for each of the VGA fans for laptops that have 2 VGA fans?
(I have a single GPU and so I'd want to tweak VGA FAN 2 to be lower)

Also, I visited your website but I saw no way to purchase a "FanControl" license. Any info on availability and pricing for this license?

 

I know you're working on the awful windows scale issues. Just wanted to show what it looks like on a 4k monitor with windows' recommended 250% scale...

Even with it resized, some of the characters in "Sound Settings" and "Display Settings" are being clipped off.

Concerning your first question on individual fan control for fans: I refer that one to John.
I'd speculate that its' a very real possibility (if ECVIEW's documentation is anything to go by).

So, I just got the newest version of LaptopTools and when I extracted it, my antivirus marked the updater.exe as malware.... It is saying a bunch of the files are infected with Atc4.Detection....

What are you trying to do to us......?

 

Are you using Bitdefender 2018?

If so, ignore that as a false positive.

- Wifi On/Off now working (finally)
- ThrottleStop integration ready - Copy all ThrottleStop files to C:\Program Files\LaptopTools\ThrottleStop and restart Control Station

Progress Report:

So today i took some time to do the Fan Ramping Steps:


Basically how many steps from Current Fan value to Target Fan value.
This will allow you to set the speed at which the fans go up and down!
Tested and Working fine

Also for the Automatic Modes i improved the included editor:


This tables (Silent / Normal / Extreme) can be shared between users.
Values are percentage and comma separated for each fan (up to 4).
Imagine CPU fan1, GPU fan 1, GPU fan 2, CPU fan 2, if you want to put them at 100% you then type: 100.100.100.100
In the example i only use two fans ( CPU fan1, GPU fan 1 ) which is for my P775.

It was a trade, I give you Control Station and Keyboard LED for free and in exchange I took away the free license.
Leeching was out of control damaging the server load and overall service quality.

There will soon be 4 apps:

- Updater for drivers
- Control Station to replace Clevo control center
- Keyboard LED
- Fan Control

Control Station and Keyboard LED will be the free apps.

I have to add in keep up the great work. I've found the updater for drivers to be one of the most useful apps for my Clevo laptop. It really saves on all the hassle and mess around of trying to manually download from Clevo.

Can't wait for the fan control. Will be purchasing as soon as available.

Do you have a try before buy option? My model EUROCOM Q5 (P957HR) is not on the list, so I'm not sure if it will even work.

As for the free license, since your main concern is the server load from the updates, could you please just show us which driver updates are available? Let people download them from somewhere else.

The new update does seem to work better for font size, but the buttons below the devices are not fully displayed. Resizing the window shows them - prior to that, there's just a very thin line (from the top of the button) under each set of radio buttons.

so i have a quick question about the drivers. I just had to roll back my audio driver since the new one linked to in the updater program killed my audio. You get the drivers for the program from the Clevo website correct? I remember you said something about testing them. Are you able to test all of them?

What version audio driver is the new one added since I can no longer view the program temporarily? I was already ahead to begin with however that audio driver had a very small range and I had to install an equalizer as the volume was too loud.

 

Is your model detected correctly? If not, select which drivers to update instead of blindly updating everything.

No offense intended. My own laptop is NOT shown in the drop down list, so I have a few concerns.

That is also why I haven't purchased a license yet.

Yeap that is the latest Audio driver and it should work.
When you installed it did you restart and then after restart did you finish the update process?
Basically it first uninstalls the driver, then you need to restart, then it installs and asks to restart again.
Are you running Windows 10 with all updates (latest build)?

 

Yep. Once for uninstall, then again after install. I updated windows a few days ago, but apparently there are more. will run that and then try again today. Knowing i can roll it back with drivers from Sagernotebook.com makes it easy.

 

EC means that it is the motherboard EC firmware controlling the fan, basically the app is just monitoring.

Automatic modes are table based while the Manual are sliders and knobs to set ranges and fan percentage.

Model Eurocom Q5 (P957HR) 1080P display resolution, scaling 125%. Everything is looking fine, at least the stuff that I can see without a license.

CCC installed and running in the tray.

 

Do you/ will you have the functionality to view the fan profiles already in the EC and build custom profiles based on those?

Monitor is 4K @ 125% scaling

Graphical icons are the same size as before, text is now smaller, and more in line with desktop text, though it appears to be smaller. I'd suggest raising the text size up a notch.



Interestingly the screen capture appears larger than my desktop image. Reduced image by 20% to better match what I see.

 

Got windows updated, and it works now.

Is there any difference between Obsidian Tools and Updater? Since I basically have no way of updating my drivers now, which one should I get?

 

Use our Control Station + Updater.
That's the new stuff.

Since the NBR free license is gone, I basically have to either purchase the program license or manually download new updates from Clevo's servers right? Thank you for your work, BTW, you saved me and thousands of people a lot of time.

 

Yup. I was surprised the free license worked for so long. Ended up buying too. App feels much better than it was before too. P950HP6.
