Regarding the bug of the GPU. Try first laptop in discrete mode, turn on G-sync, and turn off the screen on timeout for 1 minute. In such conditions, my laptop reboots with an error.

 

How does one get back to being able to see the main Fan Control window? I can only switch between presets via the task tray. I'm wary of losing settings, so I hesitate to reinstall.

 

Hi, since a few days, no sound come out from my headphone jack on a P751ZM, I searched for it and I found people with the same problem and they solved it by installing Clevo "hotkey", isn't it related to the clevo control center we're not supposed to install ? could it be that the issue came from an update from your softwares (I have fan control and keyboard led on my laptop) ?

EXIT FAN CONTROL FIRST
Go to your Documents, open a folder called "LaptopTools", then open "FanControl", that´s where all settings are store.
In my case: C:\Users\JohnKeeL\Documents\LaptopTools\FanControl\fancontrol.ini
Now edit that file and remove the lines that start with:
mainWindowGeometry=
mainWindowState=

Those two lines hold the value for windows position and state, remove them, save the file, reopen Fan Control.

In our Control Station software go to "Windows Tuning" tab and activate "Apply Headphone fix on start".... that should do it.

For those who are using this model without CCC and want to get rid of the two ACP drivers that are only installed by CCC i made a small script to install those:

It will install the driver identifiers without adding any CCC stuff.
I still recommend using my Control Station software and select: Windows Tuning Tab > "Disable CCC Hotkey filters..."

I will add this to the Updater software as soon as possible.

 

Hi, I recently installed Control Station and Keyboard LED as an alternative to Control Center which was causing a lot of BSOD's making me not able to work properly.
Since I dont have CC anymore it asked me to install a dll to which i agreed, but it seems Keyboard LED isnt able to change colors or intensity. After restarting my laptop the keyboard was at about 50% intensity and had a red-orange colour while I used to have it on green. Your application does not seem to be able to change anything. Am I missing something obvious or should I give it extra permissions somehow? The keyboard controls using the FN key dont work either, but I didnt expect those to work since I never change it once its set.

Another thing i was wondering is if there is the possibility to show the 'Numpad ON/OFF' pop-up on the top left corner that CC used to display.

I guess I could get this feature again by installing contol center but that driver gave me so much problems that i prefer not using it and using your application as a standalone program, since it can pretty much do everything on its own if I'm correct.

Did you install the Fan Control as well? You don't have to buy it if you don't want to, but just install it because it installs a service that the Keyboard LED app also uses (IIRC).

 

Yeah just install Fan Control, you dont even need to use it or buy it.
Install it and check if it´s able to at least pick up your CPU Temperature, if it is, just close and never open it again if you want.
By installing Fan Control it will install a service that is required for Keyboard LED, from now on Keyboard LED will only apply colors using that service.
This way it´s easier for me to maintain.

 

Dratted Windows Update rolled back my driver to the previous version. When I ran the Updater after that, it proceeded to re-download the driver, despite it being in the drivers folder, downloaded a couple of days ago. Also, when it started downloading the driver again, the first thing it did was to delete the copy it had downloaded previously, so it was gone and could not be manually installed.

Then the driver installation failed with the same error as reported earlier. I clicked 'force enable all' and clicked the update button again to retry, and lo, it deleted the copy it had downloaded just a few minutes ago and proceeded to re-download it all over again.

Could you please fix this so the Updater only deletes the old driver after it has finished downloading the new driver, so if the user cancels the new download, the previously downloaded driver is still there in the drivers folder? This is the 3rd time Updater is downloading this particular driver - wasting both your bandwidth and mine.

 

Hi @John@OBSIDIAN-PC, latest Fan Control 2.3.2 will make my P650RS-G laptop suddenly shut down again.

 

The only that changed was the keyboard led stuff.
Are you using the auto dimmer from keyboard led ?

I guess no. I always disable backlight status.

 

Then nothing changed.
I can add a option to increase pooling times if you want to test it out.

Fresh installed windows 10, brightness fix now work!
But Keyboard LED dont activate selected effectmode after restart when autostart Keyboard LED is on. Only the 3 zone colour is active. When i then open keyboard led and switch effect, it is active.

Here are some other facts:
Updater: SoundBlaster Software should be first installed from windows update.
I have reinstall Windows after some strange problems.
First time, after fresh installed windows, i block windows update in updater software an install all drivers from updater program. After that sound blaster software has no function.

Second time after install fresh windows i let windows install all driver and update with updater software.
No problems with that way.

Only the Intel IGP Driver must be unistalled in devicemanager and then fast install with updater program.
Before that, there is an eror message.

After first installation, the controll center software was bugged after some settings done. The window couldn´t be maxed and didn´t let open from the taskbar.
But after second windows installation its all fine.

Are there any suggestion about installationorder for obsidian software?

I reinstalled windows, because there a lot of BSOD (IRQ LESS message). I dont know where it is from, so i reinstall windows and DONT use the CPU tuning from Control Center this time.
When there are no BSOD after a time i try to activate the CPU Tuning again.

 

Does your PA71ES-G have per-key RGB keyboard or 3 zone RGB? Just curious.

 

On P870TM, is there a way to change/adjust/turn on or off lid lights. Mine are always blue and it kinda annoys me?

Latest Control Station lost the 4K updates, and looks all expanded again.

Or if the UI is not adjusted restart Control Station, at start it always checks for screen DPI values.

 

Did an update to KeyboardLED break compatibility with N850HK1?

KeyboardLED v1.0.3 doesn't appear to do anything (can't change the colours, or even enable or disable the backlight).

KeyboardLED v1.0.1 works.

Also, feature requests:

1. An option to save and load our own colour profiles

2. Hotkeys:
[Fn plus *] = toggle keyboard backlights on and off
[Fn plus +] = increase backlight intensity
[Fn plus -] = decrease backlight intensity

Could you consider adding launch entries for Updater, Fan, and KBLED on the right-click menu for Control Station's Tray Icon? Or even have an option for CS to launch them automatically? Using the methodology you have now, only CS launches on startup.

 

You need to install fan control, don't need to actually buy it, just install it and you don't even need to use it.
Keyboard LED uses a service from it.

Are you saying that Updater for example does not start with Windows even if you select the option for it to start?
Because I can't reproduce that issue.

@John@OBSIDIAN-PC — was anyone ever able to get Control Station to start on startup? I'm back after a few months and see that Control Station doesn't start with Win10 even though I have the option checked. A quick (and sloppy) search didn't return anything on this.

Thanks for the updating tool
I'm currently using a P650HS-g, recently i updated the machine with newest SoundBlaster MBX driver and the program did not work properly after restart, (as they showed no sound device supported found message and then closed afterwards)
I also tried to reinstall the audio driver but it didn't work either.
Need help to make the Soundblaster works again

Uninstall any Creative / Soundblaster software.
Reboot
Install SBX with Updater.
Install Audio Driver with Updater
Reboot
Finish Audio Driver Install
Open Windows Update and check for updates
Open Windows app Store and check for updates
You should now be able to find both Soundblaster Connect and Realtek Console in your Windows Start Menu.

To play it safe, re-download and re-install, it will not overwrite your settings.
Then remove the startup check and re-check it, it should start with windows (there´s a small delay for it to start so please wait a bit).

 

So, by following your help, the installation finished successfully, however whenever i tried to open the Soundblaster app, it crashed without any error messages

I don't have a license for Updater, so it's not installed, just Fan. I also use the KBLED. Control Station loads up at start via the Task Manager, but I cannot get the Fan or KBLED to load at startup. Using the CS panel options, I can start the 2 apps. Some CU from MS in the past killed loading some apps for me automatically, and I don't know yet how to fix. Even using Task Manager to load the 2 apps on startup fail, as I emulated the same entry for Control Station.

 

New problem comes up, the SBX works good, but the Realtek audio console said that it doesn't support this machine
What to do to fix this?
I am using windows 10 ver.1803
Do I need to update the windows? (i don't actually want to go up as it will mess up my software and settings)

 

Found the solution, updated to newer audio driver version fixed the error "Realtek Audio Console doesn't support this machine"
It seems the Realtek console only supported the drivers above some drivers numbers

 

Updater updated to 2.5.4

- Added support for TongFang GK5CP
- New Chipset package also includes Intel IO driver since some models need even for the touchpad to work.

John, I want to specifically thank you for trying to help me get my Soundblaster/Realtek drivers sets working. I still can't get them working, even after following all the steps you outlined. I have cleaned/uninstalled totally more times than I want to think of. Everything was fine on the last main version of Windows 10, then things went down hill. I am crossing my fingers that the next crank of Win 10 will allow me to get them working again.

 

My only regret was not knowing you sooner! It's my pleasure to call you a friend and help you out because I know how much it costs to develop the software so take the donations not as money only but as a incentive to keep you motivated for future development

@John@OBSIDIAN-PC - No luck. I uninstalled and re-installed. The startup box was not checked (my settings had been deleted), so I checked the box. Restart and no Control Station. Do I need to set it to Run as Administrator or put it in Startup or anything like that?

Got them to start up by creating Task Scheduler entries with Admin privileges to load at login, like Control Station.

I like the Updater app. Sadly the Keyboard LED app doesn't work with my P970EN. Only the Clevo Center one does. Any plans to make it compatible?

 

Guess your keyboard is Per-Key RGB correct?
Otherwise the only thing missing for it to work is to install Fan Control (don´t even need to buy it, just install it and open it once, then forget about it).

No, it can only do 3 zones (left, center, right) or entire keyboard in one color + effects like breathing/wave etc so I think it's the standard one.
I have all the latest drivers from your Updater app.
I've installed the FanControl app and started it but it didn't do any diffidence. Changing anything in KeyboardLED app doesn't do anything.
