P950HP or P950HR should be both delivering DCH driver, if they are not just let me know so I can swap them to DCH

Dude, I must really be going blind, but I can't spot P950HP or P950HR in the list of models in Updater. I see P950EP and P950ER and the P950HP6 that I'm currently using.

Ah, okay. So P950HP6 did not give me DCH 430.53. Please let me know when it is ready for 430.64.

@ John@OBSIDIAN-PC Are you also the developer for obsidian laptops bios? There are missing some important features as intel SGX (know for messing with mouses) and intel management engine (huge security hole) disable. There are no options for managing acpi or any power saving settings besides c states. There are no options for RAM OC either, (xmp) profiles and such or at least i couldn't find them. It looks like gimped MSI stock bios, thank god though some guys figured a way to find the combination to get to the extended bios where you could modify basically everything.

Hi, my laptop is a P751ZM and shuts down randomly since around 1-2 weeks (straight powered off, no blue screen, no warning) and then reboot.
I tried a lot of things to find where the problem comes from (it's not temperatures and it's not overclocked, also happens when idle, plugged or on battery) and it seems that when I exit fan control and keyboardled, it does not shut down anymore (but it's random so I can't be 100% sure). I had no shutdowns since I did that 2 days ago, could it be something in the last updates of your softwares ? is there a link where I can try older versions of your softwares maybe ? thank you

Please try it now. NVIDIA driver updater.

I also added a manual option in the settings tab, "Force NVIDIA Driver type". If you get an error when trying to install the nvidia driver you can manually select the driver type now ;)

Nop that should not happen, it´s rock solid with my P775 even at REALLY fast pooling.
Please update to latest version: 2.4.0
If the shutdown happens again please let me know which Fan mode were you using when it happened and if KeyboardLED is using the "Auto-OFF" feature...
"Auto-Off" is neet but i should remove it, it causes high DPC spikes since it uses the native CLEVO method, which sucks....
I do NOT recommend to anyone using the Keyboard LED Auto-OFF feature!

Auto turn off? Why not? It is working ok on P950HR - wonder if I should turn it off?

It's abusive as hell, sending ec data with the stock acpi method (same as Clevo CC) is really really bad.
For KEYBOARDLED I'm still using the stock method (unfortunately).

Updater 2.5.9 updated the NVIDIA DCH driver perfectly from 430.53 DCH to 430.64 DCH. :D
Force NVIDIA driver type was left at the Default setting.
    Thanks for your excellent work.

Some very minor stuff to clean up:

    Fan Control:
While updating to the latest version, I had to change my wifi internet connection while the update was still downloading. The download failed, naturally, but I still got the popup message that Fan Control had been updated successfully. Not a big issue - I just clicked the 'update' button again - but the 'success' message should not have been shown.
Also, when you ask whether Fan Control can be restarted in Admin mode for updating, and the user clicks yes, Fan Control restarts in admin mode, but doesn't actually update. Maybe you can change the message to add the line: Click the 'update' button after Fan Control restarts. or something like that.

    Updater:
The driver download progress bar displays overall average speed, not the average speed over the past second or so, so if the download stalls, (e.g. I exceed my daily download bandwidth quota), the indicated speed doesn't immediately show the reduced speed. E.g. if I downloaded 80% of the file at 10 Mbps, and then the speed dropped to 100 kbps, the progress bar will still indicate 1 MB/s, slowly reducing over many minutes.

Ahhh... this maybe explains the high CPU usage of WmiPrvSE? I turned off auto-off and CPU usage for that went back to 0.

it looks like v2.4.0 fixed the problem, no shutdowns in view while with 2.3.9 it was common to have one after 30 min/1 hour of light use so I don't know what changed but great work, thank you

Very happy by obsidian package. I see everything in my computer is more reactive.

    @John@OBSIDIAN-PC

A question: how can I be sure to reach the maximum load of 4.6 ghz of my cpu in single core processes?
'cause I'm seeing it reach 4.3 Ghz.
The only thing I did for now is the undervolt by -100mV
I have the unlocked bios but I don't know which setting could I touch to be sure to reach my purpose.
My system is what you can in my sign and the cpu is delidded and well cooled.

    Thanks

Happened again, after waking from sleep. Here's a video. http://www.mediafire.com/file/ndahcwupp9ju2pt/20190514_130428.mp4/file
Not a big deal for me - just sending you feedback.

I felt I needed to post a video so you could see what was happening, which I have done. Won't bother you with this trivial thing unless you ask for more info. Anything that can get fixed with a simple reboot is not worth spending too much time to fix, IMHO.

Will take a look into that.

BTW, to anyone interested we have now started LINUX ports:

We started with KeyboardLED and it´s already working, the first BETA should be out in a month or so.
The Linux client base at OBSIDIAN-PC is growing fast and we feel they deserve more dedication from our side.
All our Linux Apps will be free, and we hope to be able to provide at least a proper Keyboard LED app and a Fan Control app.

    As always stay tuned: https://johnkeelnas.com/

Control Center not detecting XTU, even tho I had installed the current release. When I enable "Manage CPU", it keeps wanting me to download the installer.

Latest XTU release is missing files (not sure if it was on purpose by INTEL)....
You need to uninstall that version, install the one provided for download by Control Station...

It's kinda weird not having full Linux support already since it's my main OS... I guess we always prioritize what clients use the most.
And well... Linux is rather unprofitable and we need income...
Well it's the dramas of being such a small company.
"If only..." probably the sentence I said the most in the last couple of years.

I think you can update from inside the XTU app, updating does not delete the files.
Either way I'll soon integrate the missing files with CS so that it makes no difference.

Hummm the easy way is to tune the CPU with the included software (Control Station).
Set the cores how ever you want.
Better yet, use our chat and we will show you how to do it and how to adjust it to match your usage scenario.

    Hey @John@OBSIDIAN-PC

I have a laptop P650HP-G and I've finally decided to tryout this software. I've fully deleted built in CC and installed CS, FC and Keyboard LED. But I am facing following issues:

    1) Hotkeys for tuning on/off, bright up/bright down of keyboard doesnt work.
    2) In Control Station I've pressed off on wifi at the bottom of the programm and now I cant turn it back on. Even in the windows settings it doesn't react. (Works again after 2 restarts?)

Could you help me figure out what's wrong please?
    Thanks

Hotkeys have been disabled for a very good *kinda known* issue.
To be honest we are actually doing our own WMI driver for those... don´t even ask when it´s ready... we´re somewhat limited in resources.
That disabling WIFI thing will probably go away (that´s actually enabling Airplane mode), that´s an old method which isn´t working on some models, for unknown *CLEVO* reasons.
Does the airplane hotkeys function in your system? Usually that shortcut keeps working (and it´s one more reason for us to remove it from our CS.

Next Control Station update should probably cover a lot of "removing" old stuff....

    @John@OBSIDIAN-PC

I didn't really know about the issue's, but anyway I dont use backlight that often.
The airplane hotkey works, I was just testing all the functions of the app. I guess you can just call it an airplane mode and trigger that.
Good news about the WMI drivers. Will be waiting patiently.

Well thanks for some clearification anyway!

So, I've made a lot of friends here so I really want to share this with you.
I know the updates have been slow for the last couple of months but the reason slowing me down is now part of the past, it's finally done!

I made this algorithm that should be able to replicate myself, seems like it worked! Worked too well, seems like I'm having two mini me...

Still 9 months for the compiler to finish building them... So until then I'm back at full speed :)

I see what you did there.

So what you're saying is you got 9 months to cram in all the updates in you can, then this becomes abandonware,

What I'm saying is in 9 months the updates cycle might get slow again like the last 2 months.

Nah he isn't going anywhere. John is not the type of person that gives up on his projects and to the community! He loves what he does (programming) so he isn't going anywhere! He is a inspiration, that's what he is! Chill. We'll have our fare share of software for a couple of years still until John says it's enough and goes to another project

If anything I might focus our company from selling laptops to only develop software.
We are starting to have this contracts for different types of development in different areas so we might focus more on this.

Hi @ John@OBSIDIAN-PC, recently there is annoying bug introduced that after turning off laptop display after 10 minutes, sometimes you cannot turn on the laptop display back after moving mouse or press keyboard key. Occasionally laptop screen won't turn on properly when u boot the laptop. Not sure the root cause of the bug but I suspect it's caused by latest Intel VGA driver 26.20.100.6709.

Can you please try the new driver 26.20.100.6861
    Just released it, please report.

    Also, Updater updated to 2.6.0

    - Added support for P960 & P970 RC/RD/RF/RN
    - Added support for Tongfang GK7CP

Coming soon: PB and NH models...

Also, i would like to report that Fan Control seems to have reached highest stability ever! No more reports for problems installing / updating / general usage.

And Fan Control just hit 500 active users worldwide!

Unfortunately there´s still no other re-sellers offering FanControl to their clients which would greatly help the development, specially because I would also like to start porting this as a free Linux app soon.

    Control Station Updated to 1.3.5

    - Fixed the setting "Make sure suite apps are started on boot"
    - Improved Brightness fix
    - Added support for 9750H
    - Removed WIFI enable / disable since you can do that with Keyboard Hotkeys and it actually works better
    - Added new Software: Latency Fixer (DPC Fix)
    - Other small fixes

DPC Fix is in it´s initial version!!
Basically it allows you to toggle between two modes - Critical Mode ON or OFF
    - You will be able to setup the " Critical Mode", all options in Critical Mode are designed to improve DPC Latency
The critical mode will have the following settings: Enable / Disabled Hardware, Windows Optimize, Bad DPC Software, Bad DPC Drivers, other tweeks
For now the only options shown are the "Enable / Disable Hardware", more to come in the future...

Remember, both Control Station and now included Latency Fixer are FREE SOFTWARE, so, want more from it? Follow my signature and donate!

Great update there John! I hope that it will be beneficial to use your software in most scenarios. I got a simple question though, that I wanted to ask long ago: what kind of character encoding do you use? I would like to use my system with cyrillic support, since after installing one without it, it will be a mess to fix it (maybe you have already experienced similar problems). The thing is, in both Updater and your new DPC fixer, the program picks up the names of devices from Windows, which for me are cyrillic, and your software shows them as U+FFFD, that is in Unicode, that I assume you are using. So, any way to fix that unrecognizable characters problem? Thank you very much in advance.

Ahhh i see, should be easy to fix.
I´ll try to convert the encoding then.

Is it possible to upload somewhere previous version of Keyboard LED? The new version which only works with fan control is buggy with auto-dimming function.
