Do I have chance to use your "updater" for drivers and bios?
How can I set it - if it is possible - for my config since I did not buy my laptop in your shop ?

It´s a bit late now, but please PM and i will guide you and help you to get your BIOS updated to latest version and make sure all the software is working.
I´ll reply tomorrow when i´m at work.gannjunior likes this. -
While running on Intel GPU:
1. Auto to Max: working fine.
2. Max to Auto: CPU fan slows down as expected; GPU fans stay stuck at high speed. Audible seemingly random speed variations, but average speed is high.
3. Exiting the Fan Control turns off GPU fans after 10 seconds.
EDIT1: it also turns OFF the CPU fan. Completely. EC mode not restored until Fan Control is relaunched.
Will report further about what happens while running on nVIDIA GPU.
EDIT2: seems to be working fine when the nVIDIA GPU is actually in use.
Could we please also see the current fan duties even in EC Automatic mode? Currently it just says Automatic.Last edited: May 2, 2019 -

There was a missing file.
Make sure your on the latest and try again.
Most of what you report wasn't touched so it should not happen, what's the laptop model?
Sent from my Mi Note 2 using Tapatalk -
Model (also in my signature - IMHO everyone should do that) is Eurocom Q5 (P957HR) i7-7700HQ 16GB RAM GTX1070 MaxQ (8GB VRAM)
This might have been the case all along for unlicensed users - we never had the chance to test it before. Also, not sure that it is possible to communicate with a sleeping GPU, so the Fan Control might be acting on bad data when the NVIDIA GPU is not in use. Is there a way to poll the NVIDIA GPU to get the temperature while it is asleep?
I had a browser hijack scare so I installed a bunch of stuff to try and clean it. I'll get rid of them and try again - one of them might be interfering. -
John@OBSIDIAN-PC Company Representative
I will take a look at it.
As for the old NVIDIA GPU getting stuck i made my own detection system which never failed in the full version.
Just a matter of testing the free version... also just released another update, please try it.anytimer likes this. -
While the fan speed was stuck at high after transitioning back to EC Automatic, I launched a game which woke up the NVIDIA GPU. The fan speed immediately went down, suggesting that the Fan Control software is not getting data from the NVIDIA GPU while it is asleep. Note: my model is MSHybrid only (Optimus). I'm using the NVIDIA GPU Activity Monitor to see whether or not the GPU is in use. I'm not currently using GPU-Z, but I've heard that it also keeps the NVIDIA GPU awake.
Note: this is the same model that has the brightness issue - brightness controls not working after the display resumes from suspend after idle timeout. -
The GPU fan speed took a few seconds to come down, and that's perfectly fine. I'll update if I notice anything further.

Like..............
I´m stupid.............
This whole talk is nothing but stupid.....
I just noticed, we are talking about going from Max Speed to Automatic....
Like... look at the name " EC Automatic" !!!!!
Not sure what i was thinking... but let me just clarify, the moment you set to Automatic i have nothing to do with it!
When you set Automatic mode it´s the EC that is controlling the Fans, Fan Control is doing ZERO!....
So if anything is not working fine when in automatic mode i have nothing to do with itI can assure you the mode is being triggered and from there on it´s up to the EC to do it´s thing.

EDIT: it is stuck again. It seems to be the same issue as the brightness thing I reported a few weeks ago - this is happening after waking the display after it has gone black after idle timeout. Worked fine immediately after a fresh start.
Let me reboot and check again.
Now it is not recovering, tried after a restart and again after a full shutdown and start. GPU fan speed remains high until I launch some application that actually uses the GPU.
If you'd like to build a debug version that shows the current fan speed instead of simply Automatic, that could clear things up.Last edited: May 2, 2019 -

Try this:
- CTR+ALT+DELETE
- Go to Service Tab
- Stop "ClevoService" -> Don´t close the window yet
- Get his one: https://johnkeelnas.com/files/BETAS/ClevoService.zip
- Extract it
- Use that one to replace the one at C:\Program Files\FanControl\monitor\ClevoService.exe
- Start ClevoService again
Let me know if you like that behavior better.anytimer likes this. -

Control Station updated to 1.3.2
Anyone with apps that are not starting with Windows please go to > Settings Tab > "Make sure suite apps are started on boot"
That should solve your problem (PS. it will only start apps which have the "Start with Windows options checked")
Other small changes have been made here and there.... -
Fan Control 2.3.7 with beta ClevoService EC Automatic and Max speed working as expected for unlicensed user.
Also, the brightness issue is fixed with Control Station 1.3.2 The brightness now properly dims just before it goes to black, with the brightness slider in the Control Station tracking it in real time. On waking, 100% brightness momentarily, then it reverts to the earlier setting. Perfect.
EDIT: No, happened only once. Now back to 100% brightness on waking - have to click the slider to reapply fix.
Today is a good day for me. Thanks again.Last edited: May 2, 2019John@OBSIDIAN-PC likes this. -

Anyone else experiencing a weird fan behaviour in the P650HS-G after the latest fan controller updates at idle loads and low temps? I've noticed that after the latest update to the fan control, the fallback to EC Automatic profile doesn't seem to work anymore, but to make this even more fun - even after restarting the system (including hard reset with the fan controller disabled), Automatic mode fails as soon as the system hits ~43C and even when manually selected (via the fallback Fn+1 key combo), the system fans go out completely and stay that way until the system heats up all the way to 85C when the fans kick in at full blast?
Edit: Yeah, nuking the whole suite and recovering from backup fixed things, so... perhaps the clevo service was acting up? By the way, perhaps it will be possible eventually get a roll-back to a previous version (or better yet, to a designated known good configuration) feature?Last edited: May 2, 2019 -

UPDATER updated to 2.5.6
- The Updater Software now includes a new function which i can enable or disable according to each driver to UNINSTALL a device and then re-scan hardware before installing the new driver.
This seems to be needed in cases like installing the new Intel VGA DCH driver.
This is still new, seems to be working fine and i might add this function to other drivers when needed (it´s a nice gun to have in the arsenal).
Please try updating the Intel VGA and tell me if it works. (not sure if that´s the only thing needed for all models tough).
- The Intel Chipset driver is more then it meets the eye, our package now includes:
Intel Chipset
Intel MEI
Intel ANX
Intel DPTF
Intel I/O
(Don´t worry drivers that are not needed in your system DO NOT get installed)
- There is now a new ACPI driver showing up on some models, this is a modded driver that identifies the two ACPI devices that newer models use (these devices are used by Clevo Control Center only), so for those of you who do not use CCC this device clears up the two unkown devices from device manager without having to install CCC.TheChosen0ne likes this. -

- Update to 2.3.9
Now whats really at steak here is: "When you go from any mode to EC Automatic, or When you exit Fan Control, does the EC take over and Fan Control is doing nothing??"
Well there is a REALLY EASY way of testing this....
Switch from Max (or any other mode) to EC Automatic.... now press FN+1, it will put the fans at max.... wait to see if it gets changed! Why is this a good test? Because if it´s not in Automatic Mode and if indeed Fan Control is doing anything, the second Fan Control does any change to fans the FN+1 (Max Speed) goes away.
Now do the same after exiting Fan Control.... Exit Fan Control and press FN+1.... does it get changed ?
If the answer is NO it does not get changed then i´m 101% sure the EC took over and Fan Control is doing ZERO! -
)
Riiight - Fan control is already at the current 2.3.9 after installing and reinstalling a couple of times, so I could rule out potential hardware fault.
After cycling to any mode in Fan Control and then EC Automatic (and then closing the app), system fan speed ramps down with CPU temp until it hits a point around 42 to 45C (sorry I couldn't narrow it down more, but well... I got lazy and didn't want to enable logging to see a breakdown of how the fan currently behaves in EC mode) and turns off the CPU fan completely. After running a CPU-heavy load (Lightroom batch job for example), CPU heats up to 85*C before the fans kick in at full-speed. Manually selecting Fn+1 and cycling Max and Automatic modes works, but in Automatic mode it again leads to the CPU fan eventually disabling itself, with the behaviour persisting even after a system reboot (Fan Control is explicitly being run on demand, so it doesn't kick in at startup). Killing the Clevo Service or outright removal of the Fan Control module restores system behaviour back to normal.
Short version: the Clevo Service ..err.. service may be acting up, also I kinda forgot to mention that I'm running 1903, so as usual MSFT may've broken something with their latest ode to SaaS and rolling releases. Also Cisco's the devil -

But I'll nuke the laptop tools folder in full and will install from scratch (now that I know how to recover from the unexpected behaviour, it's not a biggie to test things out) -
John@OBSIDIAN-PC Company Representative
You mean the settings folder in the user documents?
Because Fan Control is usually at its own folder: C:\Program Files\FanControl\
If you still have a folder like C:\Program Files\LaptopTools\ then you need to delete it and install all our apps again with each app setup file.
Also i will quote myself:
Now whats really at steak here is: "When you go from any mode to EC Automatic, or When you exit Fan Control, does the EC take over and Fan Control is doing nothing??"
Well there is a REALLY EASY way of testing this....

IF FN+1 does not get overwritten after you exit Fan Control or when you set it to EC Automatic, it means the ClevoService is doing NOTHING, actually it's only reading CPU temperature, it is not doing anything Fan related. -
-
As for you repeating the same bloody thing again, I'll simplfy my response to the simplest terms possible (aka "explain it to management" mode)
After closing the Fan Control app (current version), the EC Automatic mode initially kicks in until the CPU reaches a low enough temp. At that point, the CPU fan completely shuts off and stays like that until the system becomes unreasonably hot. With fan-off (and Fan Control off), pressing Fn+1 yields an On-Screen "Fan Speed Automatic" confirmation (and not "Fan Speed Maximum" as expected) with a corresponding ramp-up of the fans according to the current system temp. When the system cools down, fans turn off and round and round we go...
Edit: I'll fire up a clean 1803 install and see if this behaviour is present there as well, because at this point I'm more inclined to blame MSFT
Edit2: Fired up the clean 1803 with the same exact setup (even reused the same install file) and it works as advertised. Gotta love SaaSLast edited: May 3, 2019anytimer likes this. -

Noticed a momentary glitch with Control Station (v 1.3.2, but that might not be version dependent).
This only happened one time, and a restart fixed this completely. Just posting it here so you can check if something might need fixing.
This is what I observed:
1. Brightness slider started behaving weirdly. Clicking the track to the right of the slider increased the value (and brightness) for the first few clicks as expected, but then it would automatically slide back down to 10%. Tried it several times - very funny - I'd click to increase brightness, and again, and again, and suddenly the slider would smoothly go back to where I started.
2. Jumping to different brightness levels using the Windows Mobility Centre or the brightness button in the notification grid (taskbar bottom right) worked fine, but in the Control Station the brightness slider followed the changes with the values divided by 2.
Actual brightness - Control Station
0 _____________ 0
25 ____________ 12
50 ____________ 25
75 ____________ 37
100 ___________ 50
I repeat: This only happened one time, and a restart fixed this completely. Just posting it here so you can check if something MIGHT need fixing. -
All apps show after boot a system despite I checked to don't do it. Please fix it fast, it is really irritating. It started to happen after I reinstall Windows and apps of course. I mean they should be hidden.

Hey @John@OBSIDIAN-PC. Just bought Updater yesterday for my Eurocom MX5 R2 (Clevo P650RS-G) but can't see the option in the Other tab to install CCC (used to be there in the older interface when I used to use the notebook check key). I thought I had read you had a custom version that disabled the hangy parts (XTU?). If I have your Control Station installed, does Updater hide CCC or something similar? Thanks.
Also, a heads up: the latest Nvidia driver 430.39 (and intermittently as far back as 419) has a pretty big bug in its telemetry system that constantly pegs CPUs anywhere from 7-20%. They released some hotfixed drivers recently that fix the issue:
GeForce Hotfix Driver 430.53
Fixes higher CPU usage by NVDisplay.Container.exe introduced in 430.39 driver
3DMark Time Spy: Flickering observed when benchmark is launched
BeamNG: Application crashes when game is launched
Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Freezes when launched in SLI mode
Desktop flickers when videos are played back on a secondary monitor
Windows 10 64-bit Standard Driver

Windows 10 64-bit DCH Driver
https://international.download.nvid...notebook-win10-64bit-international-dch.hf.exe
Windows 7 64-bit/Windows 8.1 64-bit
https://international.download.nvid...notebook-win8-win7-64bit-international.hf.exe
Not sure if you include hotfix drivers in your Updater updates but this is a pretty big bug.
For anyone else that wants to remove Nvidia's Telemetry data gathering system after each fresh driver install, you can simply paste this in an admin command prompt to uninstall only the telemetry system:
rundll32 "%PROGRAMFILES%\NVIDIA Corporation\Installer2\InstallerCore\NVI2.DLL",UninstallPackage NvTelemetryContainer
The above uses Nvidia's own uninstaller to only remove the telemetry system they install without asking.anytimer likes this. -
Not everyone is reporting the hotfix addresses the NVContainer issue being fixed.

A question: how can I be sure to reach the maximum load of 4.6 ghz of my cpu in single core processes?
'cause I'm seeing it reach 4.3 Ghz.
The only thing I did for now is the undervolt by -100mV
I have the unlocked bios but I don't know which setting could I touch to be sure to reach my purpose.
My system is what you can in my sign and the cpu is delidded and well cooled.
