All our apps are getting upgrades but should be already working.
As for Updater and drivers in general you will have the following issues:
    - detected / installed chipset driver will be outdated and you won't be able to upgrade (ignore it for now)
    - SBX won't work, audio driver might be replaced but should work

    That's it.

@John@OBSIDIAN-PC would it ATLEAST be possible to turn off keyboard backlight in per-key RGB models? The blue light is driving me nuts and I'm really getting irritated by it to the point of wanting to install CCC to disable it but am holding myself back for obvious reasons.

How about making a telemetry software that collects the necessary data required to program the per-key RGB. I'm willing to be a "beta tester" for it.

    Hi @John@OBSIDIAN-PC,

I am getting notification in the updater app that my windows is outdated. I am currently on windows 1803 which should still be supported by windows, I don't want to update to 1903 until I am sure it is safe.
Should I update or stay on windows 1803?

    Hi @John@OBSIDIAN-PC,

I updated both the Audio driver and the SBX with the new Updater (love your work, btw), but I'm unable to get *both* the Realtek Audio Console and the SBX working properly.

When I open the Realtek Audio Console I get this error:

    upload_2019-6-10_14-58-33.png

(Translated by Italian it is: "doesn't support this computer")

And when I open SBX I get this message at the bottom:

    upload_2019-6-10_14-59-43.png

(Translated by Italian it is: "Doesn't recognize an audio device")

    This is my driver list:

    upload_2019-6-10_15-1-27.png

    upload_2019-6-10_15-1-47.png

As you can see my SoundBlaster version is 2.0.0.36.

I've tried anything I can to fix this issue from deleting everything related to Creative/Soundblaster and reistalling both SBX and the Audio drivers included in the Updater, but without any luck so far.

My PC is a P775DM3(-G) from an italian seller (Santech), and my Windows version is the latest 1903.

    Can you help me please?

UPDATE1: after updating Realtek driver to the new version (6.0.8694.1) available here, I've been able to get Realtek Audio Console working again: https://drivers.softpedia.com/get/S...0-8694-1-for-Windows-10-May-2019-Update.shtml

I'm still yet unable to get Sound Blaster Connect working, however. I'm beginning to think that it's someone correlated to the new Windows version 1903.

UPDATE2: my fault, only now I've been able to read the previous John's post and I've seen that are mentioned some issues with Windows 1903 that I've missed before. Here is what I've found:

I've been able to upgrade the chipset and ME driver without any issue as you can see by my driver screenshot.

This is correct. SBX doesn't work at all. Regarding the Audio driver I've been able to get it work only after upgrading the version 8694 as written in the update 1.

    Thanks a lot,
    Daniele

    Hiya,
    @John@OBSIDIAN-PC a question.
Do you or prema crew work with the Dream Machine resellers of clevo?

I have no official deal to work with resellers.
The best I got was a couple of resellers who buy per-license to offer to their clients ( I think only for Updater software ) but I have no control over those, I can see some buying it looking at sales, and I made half price deals with two of them, that's it.
Hence why I keep saying that the lack of support and the low profits make this project not reliable on a long purpose investment strategy for my company.
Heck all this time and hours of code would be better invested in more profitable areas.

People selling methods to unlock my apps is common in some places, specially China.
So no resellers support + CLEVO not being supportive + hacking will lead to me waking up one day and say "f*** this, I have plenty of other things where I can make money".

So, to answer your question, no, and don't expect it, I been contacted by most of them, I went on to offer all my known apps + some which are not even known for 600eur per month, non accepted it.
I'm not giving everything + server space + continuous support and 8h a day of development for less then that. I rather work at MacDonald's.

Yeah I rather say it publicly and have everyone know, there's so so much I can do...

    Just a FYI:

I grabbed a copy of these Realtek Drivers for 1903: (6.0.8694.1)

    https://drivers.softpedia.com/dyn-p...ea60f5c8437c52ccf75400b85d/5cfffa63/ae870/0/1

and installed them by expanding the .cab and using Device Manager with the HDXSSTClevo.inf, and happy to report that Sound Blaster Connect 2 (2.1.4.0) is enabled with all options just like when I first got it. The driver you provide only enables a limited set of features in SBX. Thought you may wish to look and try them out, and maybe share the love with your customers. :)

When installing you'll be offered 2 options, the first warns it may be incompatible to install. The second one gives no warning, and installed w/o issue.

Hi, I've tried to do the same thing, but it still doesn't work for me on a P775DM3(-G).

Only the Realtek Audio Console is working, SBX is still broken for me as you can see.

    In the meanwhile:

    Updater updated to 2.6.5
    - Added support for PB50 models

I also wanted to add is this driver pack has no Realtek Audio Manager, but you can use the UAC one on the MS Store.

Only thing updated was some Creative component from WU, so if you have Driver updates disabled for WU, try enabling it.

You could also try reinstalling the SBX package. As you can see here, it's fully enabled: (I just have them off)

I also mentioned that you will see 2 Realtek Audio entries when you load the .inf, and I chose the 2nd one, because the first one gives a warning that the hw may be incompatible.

This is awesome. Just discovered this and I sense a great tool.

Do I understand it right, that when you do a fresh Win10 installation, you actually just slap this "One Click Install" on, run it, and it will automatically install all the drivers for my clevo model (PB71EF-G) - even though when there are no drivers installed at all yet?

Yes but disable Windows update service immediately otherwise the windows update will install whatever drivers it pleases in the background.

Also, when yoy setup Windows, ensure that you dont have the LAN cable connected and you skip the part where it prompts you to connect to the internet in the initial setup wizard because that will force you to login with a Microsoft account and also it will install drivers and updates right away.

Already done it and updated to the latest version of the Creative component.

Done it as well, tried to reinstall the SBX package, but nothing happens, still disabled.

I was able to install it from the .inf without any issue.

    Thanks!
Would advise any1 to do Win10 installation without internet (skip microsoft login and stuff) and to disable all the data grabbing stuff right away.

But enabling WinUpdate after letting the program do it's thing should be okay, i.e. windows won't overwrite them precious drivers with weird crap after, right?

Actually is windows update that far already, that it can recognize all the components and install all the drivers (though probably not the most recent ones)?

If you have the latest drivers, Windows update cannot update what's already up to date. That's why I ensure that I'm always on the latest drivers and I do keep Windows update enabled.

OK, I figured out how to get it enabled. :) While testing, I uninstalled the driver, and reinstalled, and found it was no longer enabled. So I decided to experiment, and I extracted the Creative installer portion from the recent MSI Creative driver package from that site I linked earlier. If you go into the Creative Dir, you will see 3 .inf files: CreativeComponent.inf, CreativeExtension.inf, and CreativeSBConnect.inf.

Close the SB Connect software app if it's running. Right click on each .inf, and choose to Install. After all three are done, run the SB Connect software, and it should be enabled.

I've extracted the dir, and placed it here on my OneDrive folder, so that you can grab it here: (Creative.rar)

    https://1drv.ms/u/s!ArwXzixQ74JbgcIilc561YvB1i92yw

Very happy to have it working again. :)

@John@OBSIDIAN-PC, is there something wrong with the Updater?

It says I've the Intel Chipset driver to update. I've just done it, but after rebooting, it's still the same:

    upload_2019-6-14_15-22-11.png

Furthermore, I don't think that the number of the driver is correct: 17.2.6.1027 is quite different than 10.1.6.2.

Ignore the chipset version, I'm changing that to an internal version.
It's too messed up and varies depending on model.
So I'll have my own internal version.
The chipset driver is not even an actual driver but instead it's a package with a series of drivers.
    I'll fix that today.

My PB70EF-G doesn't have the Control Center CPU Memory Ovverclock App. Instead, It's in the BIOS. Can I use this adn still maintain the GPU overclocking tool and the rest of the Control Center (Fans, Keyboard)?

Control center is cancer(lower performance, lots of issues).

To overclock/undervolt CPU - throttlestop. To overclock/undervolt GPU - MSI afterburner. Only proper solution.

Does anyone actually know the answer to my question? I would prefer to keep the CC as it hasn't been a power limit yet for me. Sorry for the initial reply, I just prefer to understand something if I can rather than immediately uninstall it.

I have a thread revealing my endeavors with TS tuning and the ability to pull 80-90W out of the 8750H consistently without any kind of throttling. All of this while running the Control Center in the background. I have experienced zero issues and incredible performance! 3098 in Cinebench R20 on standard air cooling.

Edit: I reinstalled latest Intel VGA 26.20.100.6890. Let see whether this driver will fix the bug.

Hi @John@OBSIDIAN-PC, I guess I know root cause of the black screen bug. Looks like Intel VGA 26.20.100.6861 driver not support my P650RS-G laptop properly although it can be successfully installed.

Well. If i understand correctly - you want to use this software and clevo at once?(which one exactly - FAN/LED/UPDATER/Control station?).

If you want to use clevo utility and for exmaple only updater than im pretty sure it's viable. But if you want to use rest of it with CLEVO software - than it might be mess and not work correctly (afair john was writing about this somewhere in this thread).

Anyway. I havent seen how is Control Center 3.0 performing. But if it have everything that u need from it - than just use it and dont bother with rest.

I performed a test for the betterment of the people in this thread. At least, those with Control Center 3.0 do not seem to have to be worried about "low performance" or "lots of issues".

I ran Cinebench R20 and Unigine Superposition with Control Center profile 'Performance' and CC running in the background as normal (Fan Control, Fn Keys, Keyboard Settings, etc) with everything working. TS running, MSi Afterburner running.

    3098 Cinebench - 10863 Superposition

I then disabled CC on boot and rebooted. On reboot, CC is not running and of course none of the other apps are either. No fan control, no cool keyboard lights, no Fn customization, etc). TS running, MSi Afterburner running (same settings as before).

    3098 Cinebench - 10880 Superposition

SAME EXACT SCORES. No power limit throttling on either test under either scenario. Same exact thermals under both scenarios. The difference being, you've lost the cool features of Control Center. You could do a bunch of hunting around and enable it manually with Task Scheduler on login, etc. Or, maybe use this software with a 400+ page thread attached. But honestly, when you get the SAME scores you have to see there is NO "low performance" or "lots of issues".

That's my 2 cents on the matter with some testing for verification. I'm sure this Obsidian tool has lots of use. I want the driver updating ease. But I see no reason to lose the Control Center as was previously very eagerly suggested.

I guess we are in the minority. I have never had the first issue with the OEM software. I am a very involved IT person as it applies to my Sager laptop. I constantly try new versions of Windows 10, test apps, utilities, games, etc. I wish I could identify why I don't have issues when many others do.

Having said that, I am very grateful to John @ Obsidion for all the hard work. I even bought his software just to encourage him to continue his efforts to help others.

Keyboard LED stops working every time i hibernate, sleep , or restart. Eg, if I originally set it to random color, keyboard does just that, and on wake from sleep, 1/3 off the keyboard is stuck green, unless I restart keyboard LED. Any fix for this?

Keyboard LED isn't working at all. Several restarts, uninstalls, and reinstalls don't change it. Changing the Color does nothing. Disabling/Enabling the backlight does nothing. Changing the Brightness Level does nothing. The Keyboard is stuck on blue.

Also, closing the laptop lid disables the headphone jack until the system is restarted. Headphone fix doesn't fix it.

Well. You're using cc 3.0 - it's totally different product than most of us were using for past few years. 3.0 is only for new models with BGA chip. You could understand our concern about clevo software if you would use older revisions - or just look trough maaany many complains in different threads.

Anyway, if its working for you great than I couldn't agree more - use it and enjoy.

About your concern - updater should work flawlessly with it :)

Thanks for that clarification. Being relatively new to the Clevo scene I am probably too quick to judge. The Obsidian software looks well executed, no doubt thanks to this thread and lots of input from informed users. I'm glad they're offering a slightly less problematic version now with the BGA equipped models.

So, any changes in SBX and Realtek behaviour? Would still like to get those apps back if it's possible. So far, not Updater nor Clevo's website provide them with installations of related drivers. Was it bumped as an issue of driver providers or Microsoft WIndows even?

The problems with CC vary according to laptop model.
On some models the keyboard filters it installs cause blue-screens.
On other models there seems to be weird xtu background action.
We actually had to refund clients because of CC problems like BSODs, it was not fun at all, getting a full laptop return because of bad software was stressful for me.
CC default Fan Control is just bad.
In the past some models would also report wrong temperatures and even get fans stuck.
In the past some values who would be fetched by CC would cause HUGE amounts of DPC Lag.
There is NO reason for me to spend so many hours doing a FREE alternative if i did not have to... i had to deal with CC problems for years.

Maybe the latest laptop models and CC work better, let´s cross fingers, i know it know uses new ACPI devices/drivers (it´s a feature of the new INSYDE BIOS) i guess it uses those ACPI devices to talk to the BIOS and maybe not lag the system? I don´t know, i´m so burned with CC that i wont even touch it with a stick.

Can you try disabling Windows Fast Startup?

Just tested sleeping my laptop and waking it up, it changed my keyboard back to the color i had.

For a while now Keyboard LED needs a service that ONLY gets installed by our software "FAN CONTROL".
You don´t need to buy Fan Control, just install it once and open it once. Make sure Fan Control can read your CPU Temperature, if it does you are all set.
You can just close Fan Control and not open it again.

On the next Keyboard LED i will add the Service dependency so that you get notified to install it.

Latest CC seems "better", i´m just not ready to start recommending it. Eventually i will take an evening to test it out.

Last windows update broke it... it´s a mess at the moment for some older models.
I still don´t have a solution for it....

    ---------------------------------------------

I just finished the "Screen Bounds and Snap to Edges" function.
First app to get it is actually Control Station so:
    Control Station updated to 1.4.2
Hopefully it solves the reports from some users with triple displays where the app would crash on the third display.
If you guys want to test just drag Control Station windows to the corners of your screen, see if it moves back to always stay in sight.

The other apps will be getting it really soon.
