I see. Well I want the black top finish so I will have to go with it if Xotic doesn't have a black and silver. I just wonder why they chose this metallic orange colour. Doesn't it seem odd? A dark or metallic blue would have been much cooler. Maybe they wanted it to stand out or something.

 

if you want to order the silver one call sager and for 75$ you can buy the black lid .. just a hint i know i ordered one as a extra to paint when i was going to paint the whole thing

 

Screw that. I'd rather just get the orange and then cover it with tape or something.

 

umm okay... i guess to each his own.. i know I WISH i ordered silver than swapped the lid OMG.. that would be sick looking

 

you could try painting it. i don't know how well it'd hold up since you really couldn't prepare, but i doubt you'll carry this around alot so it might be fine.

 

I think you're making too big a deal out of this...believe me the orange looks pretty cool...i'm not sure why you would want to...tape it up

Uhhhhh no. Its just not a cool colour imo. Even though I know its better in person. Black and blue or black and dark red are winning combos. Not black and metallic orange. But ya this is just my personal preference. I'm sure i'll be so amazed with the system that I will forget about the colour.

 

What you do with it is obviously up to you...i just want to make sure you don't mutilate the system or make it look silly lol

 

The silver lid looks better than the black one.

First of all nothing looks better than black (refer to below link). Secondly silver + orange would be gay. Sorry but its true.

I agree and prefer the black...but really man I just feel like in general you're being pretty hostile about this and other issues. Should just relax a little and respect others' opinions.

nice thing is there is a nice notch all the way around for fine line auto paint tape.. simply tape off the rest and spray the line imo it would be reallt easy to change the line color

 

Hey Callidor I'm just expressing my opinion as well. Orange and silver would be gay. I don't mean offence to anyone or mean to insult anyone. Its much like someone saying I WANT MY NOTEBOOK TO BE RAINBOW COLOURED!!!! The only response is.. well... thats gay.

Nirvana it looks nice but again... you always lose to black. The main disadvantage with black often with cars and other things is it doesn't catch the eye.. but sometimes you like to be somewhat stealth like. Black + many LEDS/lights is the coolest for me.

zfactor I think the paint idea might not be good because you'll have to probably deal with it chipping and plus the smell etc. Electrical tape is a good solution I think. But if the paint works out obviously thats better.

 

dude paint is so much better than tape i work with electric taoe every day and trust me it will get soooooo gooey and nasty trust me dont do that... you will ruin it that way. if you use the right paint it will not chip off..get sem brand plastic paint and use the plastic prep prior to applying it

Plastic paint? Hrm. Where do you think I can get it? Hardware store? Also what is this plastic prep.

Maybe I'll just leave it in case I need to return the system after a couple weeks of use with something going wrong. Because I doubt they'll be too happy getting back a painted system.

No offence dude, but that kind of talk is what got me an infraction some months ago.
Respect other people`s opinions and preferences and don`t use words in improper contexts.
Orange trim + silver is an interesting idea. Maybe it`s not your style,but it`s an idea nonetheless.

 

I dunno, I kinda like pale granny yellow with a brown vinyl top.

 

I think I am gonna paint my 911 into exact same color as the second pic I posted when i get home. damn they are sexy.

 

go to a automotive paint supply store, asl only for sem brand or you can find it online.. plastic prep is something that helps aid the paint to stick even more than normal.. trust me sem is the best plastic paint around. i own a car audio shop and we do custom interior work all the time and all i use is sem for plastic panels

Agreed. I just think "gay" is really the wrong word to use here. "Gay" is not an all-purpose derogitory. It's not any better than saying "that would be so black."
