Until this hour, the last BIOS forM980NU is the 1.00.06-2009/10/28 and the last EC Firmware is 1.00.06-2009/8/21
-
I suppose for the M570TU it is the 0.19 BIOS and the 0.12 EC right?
-
for the EC yes it's the 1.00.12 - 2009/8/28 -
Many thanks for bios updates pkhetan, I got the bricked laptop going, but I still have a solid white screen. (caused by me bricking it in the first place pobably)
I can connect it to my monitor for now, but does anyone have any suggestions? links to a similar thread? I'll do a search in the meantime. TIA. -
-
Sorry to be a pain, but is there a specific thread with this latest BIOS version available for download? I can't seem to find it. -
-
... and this is why I am a blonde. LOL. *facepalms* Thanks!

I upgraded my M570TU bios to .19 and now can't get into windows anymore. It says BIOS isnt compatible with ACPI. Where could I finder older BIOS versions to make my notebook function again?
-
-
I couldn't get those links to work. Was only able to download EC.
-
Ok got it now. Still can't get to windows. Gotta try to reinstall windows and see what happens. Thank you for help.

Hi all. Using Vista Ultimate SP2, I'm trying to update my 8662's EC/KBC to .13 and its bios to .17, prior to a clean install of Win 7. I've been using both this (Blacky's) guide and Zfactors guide on how to create a bootable usb stick and I've run into several problems.
First roadblock. I attempted and was able to create a bootable usb stick based on Zfactor's guide, only to realize that I had an ISO bios file, which Blacky's guide seems to indicate are mutually exclusive.
Second road block. Given my ISO bios file, I then attempted to make a DVD bootdisk, but I haven't been able to make one or know what to put on it other than the bios files themselves.
Third roadblock. Unless they are also contained within the ISO, I haven't been able to locate the .13 EC/KBC file.
Given the situation, should I continue to make a DVD bootdisk or am I better off going back to the bootable USB stick despite the fact I don't seem to have a compatible bios format? Also, where can I find the EC/KBC file I need?
Many thanks to anyone who can point me in the right direction. -
There are two ways to do it.
You either burn the ISO BIOS file to a CD/DVD and see how that goes. The BIOS files are actually in that ISO file.
Or you make the bootable USB stick and you add to it the 0.17 Clevo BIOS in one folder: http://www.mediafire.com/?tiyyzznwq2a
and the EC in another: http://forum.notebookreview.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=38455&d=1252889805
Simple as that. -

I tried burning the ISO bios to a disk and rebooting, but each time I wound up in windows. I even went into the bios and made the DVD/CD drive the first bootable device and no dice...
That leads me to think my disks aren't formatted to be bootable, and I'm at an impasse. I take it the Clevo bios has a Clevo splash screen? -
Unfortunately I do not know that much about the BIOS ISO files, because I only use the USB method. Hopefully someone else on this forum will be able to help you with that.
The Clevo BIOS will just be the normal, unbranded BIOS. It will have a Pheonix splash screen. -
SteelersWorship Notebook Consultant
Thanks for you're help. I'm going to give the ISO file one more shot. If it doesn't work, I'll attempt the USB route since its unbranded. That may be just what I need.
Thanks again.
EDIT: This thread doesn't need another one of my posts.
Well, I don't know what to say except I gave the ISO file another shot at booting off a DVD disk and it worked!
I don't know that I did a damn thing differently, but I'm so very glad to say its done and that it was a breeze once I got it booted. Cheers Blacky. Your next beer is on me. -

I have always done USB as it to me is the easiest way and your not wasting disks, just make sure to follow the instructions EXACTLY

Using a CDRW or DVDRW helps with wastage heh

Hi, I have Clevo M670SU laptop with BIOS version 1.01.04. I wonder if there is a new version of the bios and if the temperature issue has been fixed. The problem is that fan controller is triggered by CPU temp but not GPU temp aswell (I had my laptop repaired once because of this - GPU fried!!). So running a 3D application with no stress on CPU results is CPU temp 70C and GPU temp 95C. Since GPU is (in)famous nvidia G86 (8400M) i'm really afraid that i'll fry GPU again. Can someone please check Clevo ftp and post the link to new BIOS (ftp requires login
).
Tnx -
Hi Orkanbey,
What is your language, may i can speak it. I speak also french, arabic and some spanish.
the last BIOS for M66xSR is 1.00.06 which was released on 2008/4/18, so it's a little bit old but that is the final BIOS from Clevo. To update to this version, you have to update EC Firmware first to 1.00.04 if it had not been done before. Please check your versions by entering System setup when booting ( normally by pressing F2). And if you need any of them, just post your email here.
Hi Laptop_user,
The last BIOS for the M670SU with nVIDIA 8400M G is what you have already 1.01.04 which was released on 2007/12/12. You can check your KBC/EC version (called sometimes H8 Firmware in old machines) if it is older than the 1.00.02, i can send it to your email. Sometimes the EC Firmware fix problems in hardwares like fans. -
Hi pkhetan thank you.I speak Turkish.I've looked at BIOS, version: 1.00.05 AT.
My computer does not boot from flash memory. (Even though I made to start the usb 1.2.3) I want to update bios for it. -
Please check also your EC Firmware version because you have to update it to EC in order to ubdate BIOS to 1.00.06
Now there is a problem in Clevo server, but i'll tell you when it will be fix
To boot from usb flash memory, you have to enter BIOS setting (press F2 while booting) then you have to modify the order of bootable device and put usb flash first -
-
Thanks. Will expect the repair Clevo Server.

Any newer BIOS for the Clevo W860CU aside from the one I've posted? I'm rally having problems with my HyperX memory kit.
I've had three kits of the same kind already (RMA'd two times) and sometimes they have errors sometimes they don't. I'm currently at 1.01.05S right now, tested Module1 in slot2 for 24 hours = no errors. Currently testing Module 2 in slot2.
I've tested Modules 1 and 2 in slot1, both produced errors. This is the 3rd kit we're talking about.
Last month (was on 1.01.05), I've tested the 2nd kit and module1 had no errors on BOTH slots but module2 had LOTS of errors on BOTH slots also.
So I guess this has to do something with the BIOS, perhaps tight timings, don't know. -

The one you posted is just the "Sagerized" version of the original Clevo BIOS that has been out for almost two months now.
The only suggestion I can make is to try a regular stick of memory to test whether it is the slots themselves that are faulty, or if it is the CPU that is faulty. Like I've said before, the SODIMM DDR3 HyperX kits are notorious for having a high fault rate. -
I had a hard time with HyperX memories as well. I've returned mine in RMA and eventually got refunded as I was told that the 1066Mhz version is being phased out. I am looking now towards buying a new set, maybe at 1333Mhz. Maybe we should start looking for other CL5 / CL7 brands instead of Kingston.
Edit: Any suggestions Soviet?
