    Yes they have the same timings based on cpuz. Kingston cant just raise the timings because the timings of these modules are advertised as CAS7.

    I sont have errors in memtest86+ but have a lot in memtest86 and even in cpu linpack.

    the only update that the W860CU had got is a BIOS update (version 1.00.05)
    you can find it at the first page of this thread

    by the way what is the brand name of the clevo machines in china?
    can you get one with english keyboard? and if you don't mind how much is the price of an w860cu in china?

    It's called 'terrans force', with an English KB by default. The factory of CLEVO is in China, but the price is high - my W860cu/820qm/4g/500g/gtx260/fullhd cost about 1300 usd

    Thats pretty cheap compared to the UK...
    Ok admittedly you're talking GTX260, compared to 280/285, but we'd be paying a couple of hundred $ more just because of the 820QM.

    the nVIDIA GTX 280M VBIOS 62.92.91.00.01 -2009/7/24 for the D900F

    If you pm him the clevo ftp links, he can d/l them himself and rehost elsewhere, the servers aren't passworded, just the browser to find the files/file info.

    Im thinking not, the M980NU had a rather short shelf life, even for a performance laptop, although clocking seems to have made it to the X8100.

    I agree, if you go to Clevo.com.tw website site you will not find any more the M980NU, they replaced it with the X8100.

    I have been trying to update the BIOS on a D900F to the .05 version. After D/L files and extracting it is is a " .WPH " extersion. How to update from this? I'm not able to convert to ISO.

    Just a question, the 3 near "Rep Power" under my avatar, what is it exactly ? and how it's calculated? (i have in my User CP 67 points, but only 3 under my avatar) and why for some users the small rectangular near the Rep Power is green and for others it's gray ?

    It's an older version, so the new one that pkhetan just published has some of its bugs and features ... theoretically better done.

    The sager version will also have a sager bios splash screen while the clevo one will have the standard clevo splash screen.

    Clevo rarely releases specific notes on its BIOS updates as they are primarily intended for the usage of its resellers.

    I am afraid I cannot make any recommendation, any bios update you do, you do at your own risk. Please read the initial post for more details.

    6-77-W8600-D xx For the W860CU
    6-77-W8700-D xx For the W870CU

    where the xx refer to the version you have

    I've updated the initial post with the W860 and W870 BIOS, I did not put the Clevo link but made a mediafire mirror. I prefer not to put load on Clevo's servers because they might end up cutting us even the insignificant access we have now.

    There is no KBC/EC update for the M66xSU. You have only BIOS update :

    1.01.04 - 2007/12/12 : for the nVIDIA 8400M G VGA on board machines only.

    1.00.03a - 2007/11/1 : For GeForce Go 7300 on board machines only.
