Hey! Can you please tell me if it is possible to unlock the BIOS on the clevo N960KR model? Also is it possible to lower the voltage on the processor using THROTTLESTOP or XTU? Thank you.

Did you check all the bits around the failed part?

    Hi @Meaker@Sager and @Prema

I’m trying to reflash BIOS and EC Chip with a programmer.

unfortunately the Programmer outputs a error message.

“pin detection successful, internal or external shortage Protection”

I can’t even read the Chips.

could it be that they are corrupt and therefore not readable or reflashed ?

so I need to buy new Chips ?

    hi all

I've got an old Clevo p150SM that was bought in Australia (branded Metabox)

Was wondering if I could please have a premamod version of the bios to flash as the laptop today is in really old condition with squeling fans and heating issues.

Also the battery is almost 80% wear therefore I hope to do some undervolting to stabilise the old beast.

Also any tips on how to maintain the laptop in today's windows 10 environment would be appreciated.

Hi everyone thabks for taking the time to read this!

Prema has a very strict policy on sharing and distributing his BIOS files. He is the only one who can provide you with that BIOS.

Just wondering if anyone can help me find the latest BIOS for my Clevo P670HS-G 17.3" 75hz 17-7820HK gtx 1070 laptop.

I googled it a few times but couldn't find anything concrete. I currently have the Obsidian BIOS for it from 2018, but his Updater Tool requires a license now, it used to be open to all here, so I no longer can access it. I mean it works great as is, so I don't really need to update it, just thought I'd see if there is a new version or not.

I have the P771-DM-G Any reason to update bios from stock it came with?
All these bioses say "P770DM/-G only." But I have the P771DM/-G. So I suppose can't use that bios?

Seems like clevo P651RE6 - G is the configuration with the least information on the net available. And of course no BIOS updates. Has anyone even seen a bios newer than version 1.05.07 from 2015 ?

@Meaker@Sager maybe you can save me ?

It will be the same bios as the 650 iirc. Usually you speak to the reseller regarding firmware.

Requesting a normal/stock dump of a Clevo PB71EF-G bios in .BIN format. I am in desperate need of it, and not sure at all where to find it. I've googled my fingers bloody, and I need to re-flash a potentially corrupted BIOS chip. If anyone would be so kind, I'd owe you forever :)

Hey! And thank you. I do know about that repo, but I am a bit confused. I'm looking to repogram a BIOS chip in a non-booting PB71EF-G. I've ordered a programmer for this purpose, that will hopefully arrive in a couple of days. But I am not that knowledgeable in the area, and I was under the impression that I need a bios-file in the BIN-format for this. None of those files on that repo are in BIN format.

Maybe I'm missing something tho :D

I think you can flash from Windows, but my recommendation is to go with MSDOS enviornment.

I've figured it out myself after some research with google. Man there's no documentation whatsoever in the BIOS zip file making things much harder. I gotta read every single bat files in there and try to google to get a sense of how the flash process works. Link to my discovery: http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/need-help-flashing-bios-from-windows-error-pa7xhs-powerspec-1710.836863/

I now have gained some understanding of Intel Flash Tool, FD region lock, BIOS/UEFI is actually a region not a whole chip, etc...

By the way, today I've come across a document from AMI themselves saying that they no longer support DOS, so in the future tools like AFUDOS.exe might not work with newer BIOS's. So I think that might be the reason why the BIOS zip file I got doesn't include the DOS flash tool, but the older ones still do.

Hi there. I needed someone to provide me with the BIOS (Prema MOD v2) for my XMG P723 (Clevo P370SM) laptop. Since the Prema website was closed, I have been unable to get these modified bios. Thank you very much and greetings ;)

    Hello everybody,
I'm trying desesperaly to recover my clevo W551AU that is bricked. I've made a wrong bios flash and now I just have a black screen and no boot. :( :(
I've tried to start with a rufus made boot usb key, and modify autoexec by adding a command line to beep a sound at startup (echo ^B).
But there is no no way, just blue light blinking on my usb key. I think, the boot sequence don't execute DOS from on the USB key, and there is no way to flash bios with DOS environnement.
I've found bios file on the bios repository, but it's useless...
Maybe I can put a .rom file with the right name on the usb key and try the recovery mode with Fn+B to flash the EC memory first?? Someone please can help me? Where can I find these?
    Thanks for any help...

You can get any Clevo BIOs file from the first post of this thread: http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/clevo-bios-thread.416916/
    There is a mirror there.

    Thank-you for your reply. :)

I've already tried what is given in your thread and also here http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/clevo-bios-thread.416916/page-411#post-10433032
I've taken the files from the repo, but it looks like my EC memory doesn't work anymore, because ECFlash.bat do nothing when I turn on my computer. So these files is useless, I think.

Maybe I should buy a CH341A programmer to flash directly the EC memory, but I should find a .rom file to do so...
This is not that kind of files I might find in the repo, do I?

    Thanks for any help...

The repo should have both EC and BIOS files. Usually, they are separate. Your best bet is to use a programmer or go to a laptop repair shop and ask them to do it for you.

    Thank-you for your reply. :)
In the repo I've found a file name WxxAU.502, used by ECFlash.bat
Is that file is .rom or .bin file that I can use with a programmer ?

Doesn't matter since the programmer will read the file itself and won't care about extension

That's the file for the EC. As @joluke said, if you use a programmer, it won't matter the extension.
