The hotkey is just so you have a graphical pop up, the functions still work fine without it. For me the only thing that is missing is the ability to change the color of they keyboard, fortunately the blue is my favorite anyway. I find it a lot easier to just uninstall the hotkey. Especially for my power settings.

 

Is there any changelog for the drivers?

 

I am trying to install the 6.0045 hotkey but I am getting errors such as "Error 1316.A Network error occurred while attempting to read from the file C:\Users\Brian\Downloads\06Hotkey\Hotkey6.0044.msi"

*Update* So I later uninstalled 6.0044 and then installed 6.0045 and the installation worked that time.

 

By the way does your Wifi switch still work? (Fn + F11) On mine the wifi switch stopped working after I closed either hotkey.exe or PowerBiosServer.exe.

 

Yes it still works. So does bluetooth.

 

Confirmed. I guess the only thing that doesn't work is the keyboard backlight configuration.

I uninstalled the hotkey app because sometimes I need to mute the speaker (Fn + F3) while in full screen game and it switched to Desktop just to display the hotkey popup. That's kinda annoying :\

I read the AMD drivers had been improved - "never settle" and all that.

Still gives me the error :

The version of your graphics card is not supported - or words to that effect.

Does this mean if want to install AMD drivers for my 7970M I need to manually install the desktop drivers and not use the mobility tool?

Is the mobility tool ever going to be smart enough to detect Enduro enabled laptops like mine and install the new AMD driver?

 

have u tried a non-amd download mirror and manually install the driver by urself? ive never used that tool before so no idea how smart/dumb it is. but i dont need a tool to tell me what kinda hardware is in my machine

try Station-Drivers: le site de drivers, bios, firmwares avec un forum d'aide, thats where most of the postings here are based on

as for hotkey, check the download section on clevo´s website. with each new laptop model they present there, they usually also update the hotkey application. so its a bit of work to search through the whole database and find the most current version. during my last check i came up with 6.0069, but maybe theres a new one out now. happy searching!

Can anyone tell me which driver contains the on screen display (OSD)? Mine disappeared a few days ago.

 

That would be the hotkey software mentioned above.

 

Fellas, n00b here, I get the idea that the driver list on the first page is a little outdated... Is it being maintained at all or should I read 92 pages of posts to scrounge and get a fresh batch?

Pretty easy to find the latest drivers. Just go to clevo.com.tw or sagernotebooks.com. Or even MySn.de, they all host the latest drivers. And if you just want to find the latest yourself, use common sense. Get em from the manufacturers....

 

Sager has updated their P150EM driver page with new Windows 8 drivers, they've uploaded them to a dropbox server!? Sager site, Dropbox server

Should I get the Windows 8 drivers from the Clevo site or from Sagers? They both have drivers now for Windows 8.

 

If you have a Sager, download from Sager.

 

hmmmm might be worth checking out where can one find that hotkey version? under which laptop subsection i mean. or is there a special win8 section?

just tried it.... for me doesn't work... I see icon i down right corner but it just sits there.... no program GUI opens, nothing.... when I use shortsuts for brightness I see a slider, it moves but I have same intensity.... going back to v6.0045, that one worked for everything....

 

I was messing with it as well. It does not work from what I can tell at all. I'm still looking for a way to get rid of the damn pop up icons on capslock and numlock. They drive me crazy, I was hoping that 8.0 would fix it, but I couldn't get it to work at all just like Floridan79.

Anyone else have any luck with it?

 

just found out that my brightness doesn't work anymore even I installed back v6, even i installed original hotkey from drivers CD... DAMNED !!!! It worked before i tried that v8.. now i cannot do brightness or stop touchpad. i hate clevo/sager they should have newest win8 drivers ready!!!

Yeah they are probably mad too since they already released hotkey that works just fine with W8.

Why do you need them? They are already installed by default.

 

Clevo p150em, windows 8. intel extreme tuning utility (xtu) cant be installed , during intallation process message "rolling back" and program quickly autoUninstall itself )

 

XTU running fine on Win 8 here.

 

Oh BTW, not only does the hotkey work amazing for Windows 8, just found something else that is awesome.

Even at bootup, the keyboard color you choose in hotkey is the color it boots with. No more blue then switch to your choice.

Isn't it infuriating that the drivers work so awesome in Win8?

 

I installed the 8.00xx driver for hotkey and windows 8 and it is closing now when i open windows. I have no idea what is going on with it. Any suggestions on how to fix this issue?

No idea. I just did a clean install of Win8 and installed 8.071.

 

Did you update bios and EC first? Before the clean install?
