That is a truly great little addition. Any chance of seeing any links to any available service manuals as well (ok, ok, so I'm both lazy and greedy)?
-
-
Yea, did any Eurocom user listen to my appeal of getting the RU service manual?
-
I choose not to post Service Manuals... sorry.
I do not want to be responsible for anyone damaging their notebooks (and voiding their warranties) or get in trouble with Clevo.
If you want fix your notebook, I recommend to post a thread here about it and have NBR members help out. And/Or contact your vendor to see if they can suggest any more fixes.... which would not void your warranty. -
I don't have anything to fix, it was in another thread that somebody mentioned the need for one, and Eurocom has it password locked...
For now -
-
Clevo vendors publicly allow user manual downloads... and supply them with the notebooks.
... so the basic upgrades (RAM, HDD, etc.) are not warranty breakers.
Service manuals are much more technical and in the wrong hands.. can potentially destroy a system. -
You mean in the hands of terrorists or russians?
-
when I say "wrong hands," I refer to people that I would say this to...
"the problem with your computer is between the chair and the keyboard" -
Here's your golden fiddle Mr. Goph'n, ya done beat the devil
-
would it be possible to edit the html so when you click on links it launches in a new window?
-
I am working on that.... but most people that use Firefox or the IE7 use new tabs when opening links.
For Firefox, hold CTRL and click on a link to open it into new tab. -
i guess i'm in the minority that 'gets by' with IE6. =P
-
OMG dude.
Please at least upgrade to IE7 for somewhat better security.
Firefox is much better in performance, and is extremely robust with lots of extensions to make it very useful for any specific person.
Firefox 3 is almost out.. it will be the browser to beat when it is released. -
i cant even use ie. it like takes a nap every now and then when im browsing.
-
Updated.
Added "_blank" targets to links.
Now they will open to new windows when clicked on. -
Yep, FF kinda beats everything else,at 25ish tabs uses less than 200.000 KB of memory, whereas Opera at 15ish tabs goes beyond that...
-
All info for DPC TECH is wrong :-D
It's a UK company check better. -
thanks aktarus.
I had it in the UK section in my beta guide... during the final RC's. i seemed to have confused it with other vendors. -
yea kno.. i actually DLed firefox the other day cuz EVERY1 i kno is like... its amazing!... and i thought as a computer nerd i would appreciate something about it... I went back to IE7... it actually took longer for firefox to initiallly load, then it kept asking me, are you sure you wanna enter that site?, you sure you wanna do this? sort of like its own UAC.... i like IE7... wat can i say
-
um...
Firefox has warning messages the first time using it.
Heres what to do after installing Firefox:
- go to Tools > Options
- (under Main tab) set your Homepage, set the Download default location or have it ask you every time
- (under Security tab) click the Warning Messages "settings" button, uncheck all options except the 2nd option (about low-grade encryption)
Then you should get some awesome extensions for it:
- Adblock Plus (automatically block all known ad sources on sites)
- IEtab (to switch to IE mode on Firefox for sites that require IE)
- FireFTP (nice free FTP client built into Firefox)
- PicLens (the coolest image search you will ever see) -
Ok, I updated the DPCtech thing.
And added a Singapore vendor. -
One more update.
Added Malibal vendor (from Las Vegas, NV) -
All you need to add now to make it complete is real-time per-reseller pricing!
-
I have just been capped with a post size limit.
So I cannot do major HTML coding anymore... LOL.
This post got the record of largest post. -
-
You know, this page (at least post #1, the Clevo Guide itself) by all rights should get its own separate tab just below the main banner - just like the so-called " Lenovo Resource Center" because the Clevo Guide certainly provides more, and more useful, resources than the Lenovo RC does.
-
Worst case scenario, add a second post right after your first, to complete it...
-
-
All those in favor - 2 (at least)
All those opposed - 0 (hey, things move pretty quickly around here - you snooze, you lose)
The motion is carried. Clevo Guide 2.0 should be a separate thread.
Gawrsh warn't that easy - no wonder them boys in Washington makes such a mess, once ya gets going, it just sorta gits away from ya. -
It should be another thread, I agree. This one is getting old.
-
Gophn might want to secure the first 3 or 4 posts in the new thread to cater for further expansion of the Guide -

And I reaffirm my yes vote herewith
I also reaffirm that the thread should be locked. If anyone has suggestions for modifications they can PM Gophn. -
Ayes - 2 (at least)
Nays - 0
The motion to amend the aforesaid resolution is hereby carried. -

Chaz has been notified and if Gophn agrees it shall be done

It can get us through some sticky situations by keeping order amongst the inmates
-
Its in the process... do not be surprised in this thread goes missing for a short while.
-
Welcome to the NBR forums.
If you contact them, I believe they should tell you their resellers/vendors that you can purchase from.
Tell us how it goes. -
Pointer Systems seems to be way overprized. -
Thanks for the post Tankbuster, I will update the thread later today and it should be up tomorrow.
-
Thank YOU for the great guide, Gophn
-
updated it.
3 new vendors, some new info on vendors.
And made it a stand-alone Sticky. -
So we can still post our suggestions here or no?
-
Yeah, this is still for comment and suggestions.
I'll have to link the sticky to this one, just in case if new people want to add comments to the guide. -
When will we be able to get the New 280gtx Cards
in the Clevo Laptops
or is it better to get the 9800gtx Sli ?
thank you for your help -
Donald@Paladin44 Retired
It is just too early to tell.
The ATi HD 3780 (M88) is still to buggy to release in Clevo laptops, much less the M98 and beyond. -
Does ATI release MXM cards these days?
-
-
I know
But I was wondering about Paladins claim of ATI in Clevo laptops. That would either mean Clevo moves away from MXM, or ATI releases MXMcards.
Both options are strange -
ATI actually does make MXM cards... but their VBIOS makes them a bit proprietary at times.
The upcoming M570TU might have a ATI 3870 option from the user manual specs.
