Nowhere that would have any selection as good as best buy. So I have to pick the absolute best that they offer. I can send pics of what they have but the site will show you whats in stock.

Maybe just get the Netgear A6210 USB adapter, and the 2 routers for now.
Unless there is another high end USB Wifi adapter, but I am not finding any on the Bestbuy site - only Marketplace offerings.
What else do they have in stock?
The Netgear USB Wifi adapter makes the most sense, it will be compatible with both Netgear routers, and you are hoping the Asus will be compatible with the 1535, so that's all good.
If the Asus RT-3100 won't work with the 1535, then it should go back, and you can try the other Netgear from the distant store.
Then the Netgear USB Wifi adapter serves well for all 3 Netgears
-
Do you think the netgear is worth trying? What's the better of the two? Because either way if one doesn't work I'm going to replace my killer with the Intel and use the USB for now.

Refresh and re-read my last post, I added my thoughts on that.
Essentially you want to upgrade your existing Netgear to one that is compatible with the 1535, or at least be the newest / best Netgear for the same $, so the Netgear USB dongle fits all those scenerios.
The Asus RT-3100 would be a shot at 1535 compatibility since it is so new. As would be the new Netgear X4S, but that is too far away right now.
The X8 is newer than your curren Netgear, so it's also worth a shot, but I feel it is less likely than the still newer Netgear X4S -
Hmm OK so asus router with netgear USB. Soon as I get back to the store I'll show you what I'm looking at and if you see a better USB let me know! Appreciate everything you are doing!!

I feel for your woes and hope they're sorted, and great to see the help being given to you, but this turning into a router/killer wifi thread

Here are the better USB options let me know I'm thinking the 1200

@Firebat246 maybe start a new thread for this, and ask a moderator to move all the posts out of here?
Update: I asked @Mr. Fox to please move the posts into a new thread.Last edited: Jan 22, 2016 -
Go with the one on the left, the AC1200, that's the same A6210 I found in stock online
-
Done and done! Be home in a bit updates to come. I hope this helps others. I don't mean to hijack the thread. At least it's somewhat relevant :/

I did not read all 111 posts after moving them. I have had no issues at all with Killer 1202 and only a minor hiccup with 1535 in the Sky X9.
A while back the Sky X9 started dropping connections across LAN trying to transfer large files. I don't use the Killer Suite, just install drivers by INF. The problem turned out to be congested neighborhood WiFi signals. Looking for a solution and coming up empty-handed, I changed both 2.4GHz and 5GHz to channels nobody else was using and the problem immediately went away. With 5GHz I went way up to a high channel number with no other signals anywhere close to the same frequency, and my WiFi has never been better.
As an unexpected side benefit, that also fixed the random dropped connections I had been battling with my BlueRay player, Chromecast, 3 Roku and smart TV.LoneSyndal, hmscott and Mr. Spock like this. -
Thanks Fox! I am about to try the new router had to do some blizzard preparations. I will take a deeper look into that if this doesn't resolve my issues... But I really think it shouldn't give me this much trouble!

Well it's all set up and I already had it drop once! Can't believe it... I guess its time to test the USB card out and see how that works. I will end up keeping the Asus as I like the interface for settings alot better than netgear. Speeds we great until it dropped. Going to have an Intel card sent out on monday :/hmscott and Spartan@HIDevolution like this.

Good call on the USB so far so good with it... I will post updates as I use it throughout the evening. Thanks again!!hmscott likes this.

Replacing the 1535 shouldn't be too hard. I already had to open it up that far to install my own NVMe drives, so once you've gone that far, exchanging the 1535 for an 8260 should be pretty easy as they are in the same rough area.
I second the Asus. I actually bought the Asus 68P to try solving the problem initially and I kept it due to liking the firmware so much.
There is a new Killer driver out today, try installing it.

Firebat, the problem is with the wifi card.. What are you are doing now is just running away from the problem... @Mr. Fox how do you replace the wifi card in the P870DM? Is it accessible by removing the bottom cover or you have to remove the keyboard?
-
No no I have them sending me the Intel card to replace the killer! They are going to walk me through replacing it. The USB is a temporary fix

Under the keyboard. Very easy to do. I show that in my Sky X9 teardown video.

Firebat246,
I'm a support agent for Rivet Networks, the company behind the Killer Networking products. If your still seeing this issue, please try to download the latest driver from Killernetworking.com . We identified an issue with the 1535 driver in Win10 in certain platforms causing wireless to disconnect. This was fixed in the latest release (1.1.57.1679).
Regards,
Thomas

I have posted a link back to your post in a couple of key places, lots of 1535 bug reporting activity, so others can benefit from your post.
Here is the generic link for the Killer Suite:

Kudos @Killer_Networking !!!!! Just blew thought a 6gb steam game download while constantly refreshing all of my 9 chrome tabs open and had ZERO disconnects. While this doesnt mean it's 100% that the problem is resolved... it sure a hell looks like it! Well done!!!!

Little jealous. I mentioned the issue to Prostar and all they said was lots of wifi problems with any cards, no offer to swap, not that I asked specifically.
Hopefully the new driver works well!hmscott likes this. -
At this point I don't even know if I will need the replacement card. So far about 3 hours in testing the new drivers they just dropped today seemed to fix all my problems. Everything has been solid and I am getting my max speeds. Pretty happy after all the frustration over the weekend.

Patientence is a virtue lol
Whichever way, am happy for you! Now you can fully enjoy your laptop!

I have one last thing I'm ironing out with current limit throttling on CPU... but Mythlogic is working with me and Prema and will get it fixed asap. High hopes and this wifi card was a weight off my shoulders. Don't have to open up the laptop now
Thank you for the kind words!

I hope this fixes it for existing 1535 users. Although I have already RMAed and switched away from Killer, I was left with a possibility it may have been my wireless APs, even though the Intel replacement has been flawless. This means it was a very undesirable driver blip.hmscott likes this.

And, don't forget to either configure the Upload/Download speeds (make sure you fill them in under the correct heading), so that the QOS Filter Driver works correctly.
Without configuring you may experience occasional lag in video and games:
You can also remove the Network Manager and Filter driver by running the installer a 2nd time and unselecting those two items, they will uninstall and reboot. You should check a 3rd time with the installer to make sure they are actually uninstalled.

well that is not a bad idea, I never have to touch a thing with my Intel AC8260 WLAN card, everything works at stock settings without touching the power management settings or disabling anything. Simply, that Killer WLAN card, change it with an Intel one and all these issues end -
Hey, how goes the long term use?
How is your new router working out?
Did you keep the new Asus or get the new Netgear? -
After long term use it's safe to say we have a permanent fix! Speeds and connection have been stable as they can be! Thanks for following up.
I decided to stick with the asus for now. I have the protection plan in case I decide I want a different one within a year.

Your new Asus RT-3100 supports MU-MIMO
https://www.asus.com/us/Networking/RT-AC3100/
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-ac...lack/4465000.p?id=1219751157713&skuId=4465000
4X Capacity Wi-Fi with Revolutionary MU-MIMO Technology
"MU-MIMO gives every compatible device its own dedicated full-speed Wi-Fi connection, so that multiple devices can connect at the same time without slowing down the network.
In fact, RT-AC3100 is able to connect to multiple MU-MIMO-compatible clients at each device's maximum speed simultaneously, unlike standard single-user MIMO where individual devices have to wait for sequential transmissions."
How is MU-MIMO working out?, only the new Killer 1535 supports it as a WLAN laptop card, but there are several routers that now support MU-MIMO like the RT-AC3100.Last edited: Feb 5, 2016 -
So I'm not exactly sure how to use it... As silly as it may sound. I just set it up and been using it as it. Anything I need to do additional to test it out??
Sent from my XT1580 using Tapatalkhmscott likes this. -
Hopefully MU-MIMO would connect / negotiate automatically between a router and wireless adapter that both support MU-MIMO
Check the status dialog on the laptop Wifi connection and/or the status page on the router, and see what the connection info says.
If it doesn't say MU-MIMO anywhere for the status on either, then start looking around for Advanced settings in the router configuration.
Try a search in the manual PDF for MU-MIMO

The Network Manager has a feature to do the upload/download speed test on the same settings page:
I have my Wifi router set for 40mhz channel width, so I am getting the same speed on Wifi and Ethernet, but if your Wifi speed is slower than when on Ethernet, be sure and redo the Speed test after switching from Wifi/Ethernet, or keep the setting on the slower of the two results.
The Update application feature works too - only shows when updates are available, otherwise the option is invisible.
And, don't forget, you can click a drop down for each running app to set it's priority, to improve performance during heavy loads.
For me it was working fine at Normal for everything, but I thought I would change it for my browsers for fun. More info after I do some more tuning, like for Steam, and Vuze, etc.
I dedicate Chrome for video playback, so I could set that for highest priority while leaving Firefox at Normal, and Vuze at lowest. After some tuning I could run everything at once without any network lag locally.
Killer Wifi Manager, another page in the Network Manager, has a Wifi Landscape view, so you don't even need another tool to view the local Wifi routers and access points. You can see right away if your router/ap is on an open channel, or a crowded one:
Killer Suite for Killer Wireless-AC, Killer Wireless-N, and Killer E2200/E2400
