Any idea of the release date of this? Would it have maybe a better keyboard?
-
-
didnt you read the thread?
its the same exact notebook... will only have an aesthetic difference (color on lcd case or trim color).
all other components remains the same. -
-
-
you mean a half white, half black president....
-
Okay. I'll continue with an order for the M860TU then
-
my bet is on a Hot Pink m865tu
-
MICHAELSD01 Apple/Alienware Master
According to its' dimensions, it's a lot thinner. 1.1"-1.6" compared to the last model's 1.45"-1.95". Not a bad upgrade at all. The chassis was also revamped (new M865TU on the left, M860TU on the right:
-
Dang! Thinner...I wonder if it still stays cool.
-
I highly doubt it will be thinner.
-
MICHAELSD01 Apple/Alienware Master
I got the dimensions from Clevo (converted mm to inches) and Sager.
-
-
I wish they started to use led backlit screens
-
Thinner sounds iffy... unless they completely revamped the cooling system and added fans, I don't see how this model can get any thinner without overheating.
Don't pull an m15x on us now Clevo... -
read the Clevo Guide section that says "Deciphering the Model Number"
thats all you need to know.... i though we went over this.
please read the entire thread.
As for LED screens, you can get those panels for any notebook nowadays, just make sure you have the compatible LCD inverter. -
This clevo looks great. Never heard of the brand before today.
Is there anywhere we can purchase directly from clevo rather than the re-branded firms (sager, zepto)? Would prefer buying direct since ive noticed some of these other firms have changed the lids and made them glossy looking.
Also, anyone know the model number for the Sager "M865TU"?
thanks -
Wait, Gophn, i thought that the m865 is 5x faster than the m860? It has to be right? The difference is 5?!?! -
like a 512MB Geforce 8400M is twice as fast as a 256MB 8600M.
LOL. -
just to verify. i recall reading the sager 8660 aka M865TU is about 7-8lb with battery. it seems quite heavy. does the weight seem acurate to you guys?
-
thats the weigh you have to expect from a high-end gaming notebook.
-
Yes, and it doesn't even feel that heavy. I see no difference to it than any other 15" laptop.
Remember, it may be that weight, but the size makes it easy to hold. -
-
in the back pack... arff I cant even bring this beast to my college lol... with all the medecine bricks in my backpack, its kinda heavy already the extra 7lbs is a no no for me
and i dont see mysef carrying 2 backpack lol
-
I have a Kensington Contour backpack, it works fine.
But I can only carry one binder and one book.
My friend's Targus XL backpack fits the D900 beasts much better with a lot of room for books. -
If you go for weight and space, my Slappa Matrix does indeed fit even an uber laptop like the D900, books,a USB hdd, a cordless keyboard, mouse, phones, and even headsets.
Hmm, quite the space -

Targus Corporate Backpack
Here's all I can fit in there + Laptop + Powerbrick and mouse:
I believe that's enough for daily usage to school but more than that is, I believe, too much to transport on a regular basis. -
true most 15s are about 6-6.5lb so the weight is reasonable.
In any case i would pefer a lighter laptop. Is anyone aware of any 14.1 inch clevo laptops that have gaming capabilities (not necessarily the best graphics card around , but good enough to play fallout 3 and far cry 2)
thanks for the help -
You may wish to check out Zepto for that. They have a 14" with a 9600M GT.

kevindd992002 Notebook Virtuoso
im expecting this to have a different color as indicated in the clevo guide. nevertheless, i still want to wait for this. approximately when will it be released?
-
It does for some reason look a lot thinner than the M860TU. If it is considerable thinner, I would definitely get one. The only reason I didn't want the M860TU is because of the thick chassis.
Wierd, the Clevo site has the specs of both the 65 and the 60 as to be exactly the same. Not sure if they use the same webpage cause they're just lazy or that they're both the same specs. However, the dimensioned listed don't jive with the dimension listed in specs for books based on the M860TU like the sager. The dimensions for those does say that it's 1.45-1.95" for thickness while the one listed on the website would equate it the M865TU to 1.1"-1.6". A whole 8mm thinner. -
If it follows the trend of all other clevo notebooks it will just have a slightly different finish and be exactly the same spec wise and thickness wise etc. They try to photograph them at flattering angles which make them look a lot thinner which can be deceptive!
-
^^ correct.
No change in hardware or chassis.
Its still a Clevo M86xTU.
if it were a chassis change, there would be a change in the model number like:
- Clevo M86xTU-U or M87xTU.... etc.
the "x" denotes just aesthetic differences. -
Although those chassis changes don't seem to register on clevos site (the m570RU-U isn't listed for example)
-
the M570RU-U was listed prior to the Clevo site update.
its gone now since Clevo has removed the previous generation platform notebooks. -
-
any update on the new chassis? has it been released yet?
-
Also whats the difference between M570TU and M571TU?
http://www.clevo.com.tw/en/products/item.asp?procatalogID=4 -
M570TU has orange trim, M571TU has silver trim
-
anyone notice if any anyone is using these new cases yet?
-
read like 3 posts above you jimmyb.
-
Any idea when this this is being released?
-
please read the first posts ... especially by me.
then you will know that the answer (which would negate this thread all together) -
Are you sure its just asthetic difference? I notice Novatech are releasing a new model 15" laptop soon according to their forum.
-
Why do those look like speakers on the m865tu?
-
I think that is a downgrade in aesthetics. Why go brown?
-
Ugh the 865 is Ugly. I hope the 260M is not just offered for that >.>
-
Uh... wow *hugs his m860tu*. God the 65 is hideous.
