I really want to know more about the M865TU. Yeah, I know Gophn says its only an aesthetics upgrade. But why isn't it available? Why can't I buy one from PowerNotebooks or XOTICPC?

here you go from the novatech guys:

Ok I will give you a clue it can take the new Nvidia GTS160 and the GTX 260 GPUs.

There may be a later version that can even run the killer GTX 280.

Specs are very very similar to the out going X70 as are the stunning looks.

The new Sager NP8662 will look just like the NP8660 as some of you have commented on above (it will still be built off the M860TU Chassis). The GTX 260M/NP8662 was launched today for pre order.

The GTX 260M (from what we know at this time) is supposed to be a drop in for 8660 customers. The motherboard was revised on the 8662 for Quad Core support.

Shortly after shipments start on the new 8662 with the GTX 260M, individual GTX 260M cards will be up for sale.

take a chill pill dood lol. When I first looked at the page in the title bar it had
M865TU so I'd guess thatt the xotic guys thought the new machine might be based on M865TU but then changed it afterwards. Not really a major issue though :D

My point was that Justin needed to get his guys to update the page. There was a mix of M865TU and M860TU scattered around the place.

I think he can put half of the Clevo/Sager board on NBR down for one! :p

Any UK reps know of a similar deal happening here. I can imagine Heliosvector is already haggling Kobalt for a discounted mass shipment. (double :p)

Zawesome. I've already read Neil's explanations on the expensive pricing in the UK over the US. But how expensive are we talking overall Kobalt - roughly?

The 280M won't be compatible with the 8660 or 8662 due to temp requirements. However, just like the 260M the card will be available (as a seperate component) from various resellers. The 280M will be available in the 2.1 format. So it should fit in, it's just up to you if wanna risk frying the laptop.

Depending on the price difference, I might take that risk, if there is a return policy.
