That's what I was afraid of. How about this math. (Sorry if it's too simple we feeble Americans only know how to add and subtract)
4254.10 - 1799.00 = 2455.10. Know what that is?![]()
-
-
how much i had left on my credit card before and after Gf went shopping?
-
-
(the part about the math lessons was nothing with you anyway).
It was just an action-reaction: you joke with the joker and you get joked -
Actually I was trying to be funny. That should be the difference in the base price of the M17x between the US and Brazil if I converted it correctly.
BIGX I hope you have connections here to pick one up. The prices there are ridiculous. -
BTW yes i do... I'm waiting a response about it but TBH my problem is that dell told me that they don't offer international warranty/international warranty transfer in the M17x.
And yeah prices here are ridiculous, we basically pay 2x usa price for every electronic  -
i really feel for you Big, thats why i went clevo in the end as the 17x in the UK is stupid money and you have to be a fool to buy one when you can get the m980 for $1200 less at same config
Even AW fanboys (of which i would still be one if it wasnt overpriced) havent argued that the M17x just isnt worth it outside of the USA -
i agree it isn..'t the keyboard and aluminum body isn't worth that much
just hope they gt the 4870's..... because if not ... -
i think they will, the service manual has installation instructions for Xfire if i remember right
(have a copy at home i will get back to you to confirm) -
yea they do
-
(at least not for the high-ends) and if we had the price would be pretty the same (the problem here is the tax we pay... around 80%).
Poor life -
When governments do that it just forces the hand of people to create an underground market. Unfortunately this is not the place to talk politics so I'll shut up.

10 char -
same with the AW
july deal is
q9000
SLI 280's

add in 7 % student discount and 3 % DPA account and you have a mighty nice deal.... if you get a good rep they could take the tax off easy -

Same config from where i got my M980 came to £1925 or $3225.51 BUT my m980 came with 1920x1200 screen which isnt available with the AW in EU at the moment -
If I weren't in the US the M980 would be near the top of my list.
-
is there a review for this yet?
-
a few, none i would really trust too much, no detailed reviews
none on NBR yet, most people still on order and waiting -
Is this thread dead now? I decided not to order anything until I hear more reviews.. I'm hoping something soon,,, any more updates?
-
check out the owners lounge
-
Sorry,, I see,, those are the same few people not in the USA that were posting in this thread. Is yours from Sager direct?

Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
Patience, young Skywalker.

Most US shops haven't gotten them yet.
-
-
looks like the only ones that have them at the moment are eurocom in canada and kobalt in the uk.
-
Just installed 3 HDDs, strange is only the first 2 can be detected in BIOS, the 3rd is gone.... no in BIOS no in system.....Does anyone have similar problems?
-
You mean the bay under the battery?
I havent tried it yet is the honest answer -
-
It's either the 9850 or the M17x for me.
If someone could answer this noob's questions please.
I'm trying to buy a pure gaming machine, i already have an external hardrive.
1)Is quad or duo processor of importance to gaming? The quad proces is a lot more expensive so i really must know if it's of importance to gaming? I thought it was simply for multi-tasking?
I had my eye on the Duo T9900 3,06ghz.
2)Hardrive, there a lot of options to buy a second/third hardrive. Am i right in understanding that it doesn't affect gaming?
3)Memory, i understand that this is important to gaming. Exactly in what way?
The basic memory that comes with it is "4GB DDR3 SDRAM at 1333MHz - 2 X 2GB".
Both options to upgrade are only 1066Mhz which i thought made it go slower?
It does upgrade to 6 and 8 GB.
So how important is memory, should i shell out for the highest option, which is +685$.
Thanks for the help -
It will if they release it as an update, but from my men in the know they have been told there will not be a mxm3 4870 any time soon, words direct from Clevo
Rachid,
The high clock dual will do better in games out at the moment which utilise 2 cores, but new games will utilise 4 cores, then a 2.ghz quad will out perform your 3ghz dual
example in vantage i get 1700 operations per second with my quad at 2.7 compared with 800 odd with a 3.4 x9100 dual core
HDD wise, wont really make any difference unless u install alot of games
Memory wise, just get 4gb of 1066 job done, 1333 is a waste of money, any more then 4gb and games wont use it -
^^^totally agre with pman
im running a P9500 with 4gb ram and the older 9800GT graphics card and i can play every game out there at the moment.
-
Thanks Pman and MrDJ for the replies.
These are the availble processors to choose from.
What difference does the "Extreme" do, both from the core 2 are the same at 3,06ghz.
But one is T9900, the other is more expensive and has "Extreme" and is X9100.
Also Pman, what works best with a game like Crysis?
I'm guessing the games of the future(1 to 2years from now) will have more use for the quad core like you said?

The extreme has unlocked multipliers for over-clocking. The T9900 runs at the same speed natively but run with less power.
If I was worried about budget I would get the P9700. If I was not then I would get the QX9300 or the x9100. -
being as for the moment we do not have bios overclocking i would suggest going for a non extreme, u can overclock any of them by jumping the fsb, the p9700 is best value
-
Is this thing out yet? I'm currently looking at this, the Sager 9280 and the Alienware M17x. All the sites I go to that let you customize it have it as a pre-order.
-
Nope not out yet and nobody knows when it will be.
The Clevo M980NU is out and can be ordered from various sites and it's the same machine. Clevo makes the models and gives them to ODMs like Sager to customize certain things but the insides are the same. Several people have the M980NU. -
sorry I keep losing the link on how to flash the bios on usb for clevo
Can some one send me the link for it?
I don't want the one for win 98. there was one for win XP. Thanks -
nevermind.. i found how how to flash the bios but for the GPU it keep saying there a error in the rom on the bios for the gpu that on the clevo.fr website
-
The link is always in mine and zfactors sig's
-
-
Friends, when i can find pll number for oc in setfsb to my Clevo M980NU, thx.
-
I also want to know since I'll be playing soon ffxiv and I think i need to overclock to be able to play with good settings
-
moral hazard Notebook Nobel Laureate
Why do you need to know the PLL when you have an extreme CPU?
Can't you just do this:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/har...unlock-core-2-extreme-multiplier-windows.html -
i never overclock before...
i will try it at home and see if that work.
thanks for the link -
ok thanks for answer, but tell me I have q9100, I think so this Cpu is not Core2 Extreme just core2quad, yes or not...
So time tu buy qx9300... -
i can barely understand a word u guys are saying
Clevo M980NU aka Sager NP 9850 aka AWESOMENESS!!!
