Yep, looking good and due to the memory bandwidth increases that would point to it translating to 1080 performance too.

So does it look likely the 780m will be backwards compatible with HM and EM series clevo's? Looks very promising...

No one who knows can say, so we've stopped asking. Just expect details quite soon after Intel releases the NDA, when Hawell is pfficially launched.

In the years past the AMD cards were not available at the same time as the computer launch, simply because they werent out yet. They usually get added once AMD launches them.

How can you say that ?
Where this information is mentioned ?
    Where is the diferences ?

I just wan to say, i dont know why manufacturer use only 5v for the cooling systems
Why they dont use 12v ?
    For exemple, the power for a 5v - 0,8A fan is 4W and the power for a 12v - 0,2A fan is 2,4A !!!
It's very strange and i think we can define this as planned obsolescence

Why they dont use a cooling system like this : Liquid GPU and CPU Cooling for Laptops and All-In-Ones - Asetek, Inc.
Because, the brands need to ensure that we are spending money to enrich them...

based on the pictures of the machine innards released so far. visible differences can be discerned when comparing the 375sm to the 370em cooling, whereas 175/177sm do not show any differences in heatsink design and size compared with 170/150em.

It's possible it would fit in an HM and an EM, the internal design hasn't changed that much.

Mounting looks identical, it would depend on the depth of the heatsink fins.

The P375SM manual definately makes an interesting read. 3 models A/B/C.

Like the fact thunderbolt is included.

Model B is the fancy one with two cameras (5MP and 1MP), array microphone, illuminated touchpad and mouse buttons, volume bar, and the fancy exterior led lights.

Model A has one camera (2MP), normal microphone, clickpad (no distinct mouse buttons)

Model C is same as A but with 3D emitter, and 120HZ panel.

Would like to compare this with the alienware manual for m17x r5, especially if that has sli too.

m17x should only have single gpu, unless they revise the R5 to be similar to the dual gpu R1 version. m18x is the current aw dual gpu series.

Can't wait for model C, any idea when can the public buy this? This is the best for gamers working abroad where you change house every six months and moving with a desktop along with other things can cause a phobia.

Very interesting designs. Strange though, on Clevo's product page it lists the P177SM at 4.1 kg where the P170SM was 3.9 kg. Thats 1/2 pound imperial difference, wonder where it gained 1/2 lb? Most revisions try to shed weight each time. Not that I mind a whole lot, I'm looking at P177SM to replace my old M17x r1.

it gains that extra weight cuz its a bit larger in dimensions and that in turn is due to an extra storage bay in the 157sm ;) its able to pack both a 9.5mm and a 7mm 2.5" drive, aside from the msata slot(s?)

edit: oh wait, u were asking about the 17xsm, not the 15xsm :D well i guess its smth similar then? :)

Dual heat-sinks converged into one output vent heat dissipator for both cpu and gpu.. Now that's ingenious... well done sager/clevo.

Any info on the sound chip and speakers used in the SM series?
I do see they changed the software from THX to X-FI but that doesnt make much of a difference so i do hope they also at least opted for a better sound card this time so at least any decent external speakers sound good.
