Huh. I thought I read somewhere that it was 18", my bad. Would anyone be interested in a screen that big?
It looks a little bit flashier with the chrome and the like so a 18" version or another model of Clevo would offer a competitor to the M18x, for whoever wants that mush screen space.
I need a computer for when I go to school this fall so I don;t know if I can wait until this model launches, does anyone have news on the E.T.A.?

Any guesses as to the price?
Also, where are these photos coming from? -
-
Basically the above! +rep
Also Clevo P370EM - Página 2
And ofc the reseller in Europe: http://wsi-bg.pt/index.php/virtuema...order/clevo-p370/p170em-i-97-98-99-100-detail
2 x nVIDIA GeForce GTX 680M GPU SLI with 4GB of GDDR5 Memory this amazes me the most, and the ability to have 3 x SSD/HDD in RAID 0. So a P270WM, just with a mobile CPU.
Enjoy everyone, but don't forget the fact that the post above me needs REP (he posted first)! -

Good find. How thick do we think it actually is? It doesn't appear to be that big but I think those are flattering camera angles.
-
Well I personally am glad they switched to a mobile CPU as there really is no advantage to go to an x79 based system.
-
Thicker than the P170EM, thinner than the P270WM, but with a slightly heavier mass than the P170EM. -
flattering camera angles! lol almost sounds like were talking about some kinda supermodel here (to us nerds it definitely is as appealing tho
) sounds and looks like a damn awesome machine to be honest
-
-
According to this website, it is 1.77 inches thick...which is just about the same thickness as an alienware m17x

On a serious note, Clevo actually has their head on straight. There's been no switch of CPUs. The P370EM is a new model and a pure play for someone like yourself who would be interested in something like the M17X.
For those of us with huge computational tasks, CAD work, video encoding, compiling large projects or running VMs, but also need the flexibility to be in multiple locations, we anxiously await for the IVB-E CPUs and the P270WM. -
I hope this thing will be bug free and with a nice sound system maybe with onkyo speakers =)
Maybe this time with only one Poweradapter @ sli/cfx ^^
But iam not pulling the trigger right now i will wait until 2013 -
so im hoping that the only difference between the p370 and p270, is the desktop processor. Seeing as the p270 is delayed, it would be a shame to see it have inferior specs in regards to usb 3.0 and what not, yet have a "better" processor.
and... am i the only one who wants better volume control?? fn+# is pretty annoying imo. -
1) either use volume on my headphones/speakers
2) or i use the software volume controls
3) or I use my USB keyboard's volume controls
either way - I NEVER USE MY LAPTOP KEYBOARD!!it stays covered by a nice fabric piece
-
It looks really neat, not thick at all (3,9Kg) BTW, it's gonna use 300W PSU from the P270WM i guess!
On the 2nd picture it says 680M SLI (but doesn't mention CF on 7970M?), which is not a real surprise but good to know! I'm also interested is it standart for 2012 Clevo models to use SOUNDBLASTER X-FI MB2? Or what does it mean? -
From the pics, I saw a hint about E-series desktop CPUs being used in P370EM.
Is that the case? -
-
Im patiently waiting for an official review. With High-Res pictures and everything. With all the stuff its rumored to have (dual GPU, Creative SoundBlaster audio, nice matte finish & bezel, new vents mesh), this might be the laptop of my dreams. I hope it releases in august or september at the latest. It will be awesome.
-
I hope so as well.. Ive been planning a 150EM, but depending on how this bad boy turns out I may see about upping my budget

680m wont support pci-e 3.0 with the x79.....
-
The P370EM does not come with a x79, the P270WM does -
Finally, ivy bridge and Xfire/SLI. It's about time a true competitor to the M18x came out....now if only we could get back 1920x1200 resolutions for laptops.
I like Clevo's decision to move the fingerprint reader to the side of the laptop
+1 rep to jaug for the photos ^^
Edit: I wish it had the Windows key on the left!! Seriously, if you can't keep yourself from hitting it without a mild amount of training on a backlit keyboard (or otherwise), then Clevo can add a button to disable the Windows key, just like most high-end keyboards have. -
And one more thing - WE'VE GOT some SERIOUS audio going on in the P370. Just look at the photo. Sound Blaster full-sized sound card from Creative.
Im going to enjoy the Crystalizer and ThruBass on this. Money = saved up and ready to shoot. And by the look of things, we might get 7990m along for the ride in september. -
Where are you coming up with a 7990m from? The 7970m IS the flagship GPU...there's nothing else coming out from AMD this year. That is unless they figure out a way of cramming two GPUs into a single form factor....buuuuut I doubt itThe 7970m should be capable of handling anything you throw at it, and if you plan on powering a high-res external monitor than you can just go the crossfire route.
-
-
The only drawbacks I can see are thickness, lack of DVI, and price. I would love one but still feel justified and happy spending $1700 on the P150EM over a possible $2200+ P370EM. My monitor only supports DVI and VGA so in that regard it suits me better anyways. Still, 7970Mx2 sounds freaking amazing. That is more power than the desktop GTX 680. HD 8000M better be standard MXM 3.0
! I don't want to be left alone and not be able to upgrade. I think every one hopes that HD 8000M will be supported on these models next year.
BTW was it confirmed that the 7970M now works in the HM series laptops? -
Now that I mentioned it, any word on just how many drives you can put in the P370em? -

Have not kept up, when is this releasing?
-
Somewhere between August and September I believe
Of course, this is only what I have heard earlier in this thread, and I have yet to see any official new from Clevo on the P370EM -

If a matte screen with 95% color gamut can be provided for this beast, I'm sold
I really want the two HDD drive bays and the ability to add a second video card but if I can't get a really nice screen I would rather buy the P150EM...
Here's to hoping for news on this to come out soon -
It's a 17.3".. I wouldn't expect different screen options other then what's already available for the 170EM
-
Is it confirmed that this thing only has 2 HDD bays + mSATA? I was gonna downsize to this model
.
-
Well, I don't know where Jaug got his photos but the picture does say 2 HDD bays and mSATA.
But no. -
Anything new about this machine? I'm waiting for it, decided against the 170EM for now.
-
Let me help you guys
