V-Sync stresses the gpu more, imho.
In SC2 and Diablo3, when I have V-Sync enabled, my gpu gets higher temps.
-
Just buy a watt metter, and see for yourself the wattage usage when you have 100 fps in diablo 3, and the wattage usage when its capped at 60.
The more ancient the game is, and the more fps the gpu system pushes non capped, the lower the powerusage will be with vsync on.
And do use adaptive vsync please. That#s why we have nvidia cards.
I will give you an example. I play stawar the old republic. All maxed out, aa 4x without shadows. Capped at 60 fps. 220-240w usage
If i activate shadows, allthough the system can also mantain 60fps, (not all the time) the gpu load is more and the usage jumps to 270 280w
The stronger the gpu system is, the less it has to do to maintain this 60 fps. As an example, if i were to have 680m sli in the x7200. I would say with all maxed out and capped would use about 210 if not less. -
V-sync definitely reduces power consumption and stress on the GPU. I use it all the time when gaming on battery (on other laptops not my P150EM) and am able to control the power consumption by the frame cap I put on it. If your system can maintain a playable minimum FPS v-sync is a good idea.

On another note, the P370EM user manual and drivers are available at Clevo's site now.
CLEVO --> E-Services --> Download --> (Choose Drivers or User Manual) --> P370EM --> GO -->
And download at your heart's content. The 5 language user manual seems to have more detailed where the English is just a generic manual more or less. Take a look at them both. Thanks to Larry @ LPC for the heads up!
As I blew through the manual, a couple things caught my attention:
- Page 14. Switchable powered USB port using Fn+Power you can turn on one of the USB ports to power a device through A/C or using the battery even if it's above 20%
- This one is not promising though. Page 15 it says "The CPU is not a user serviceable part. Accessing the CPU in any way may violate your warranty." -
- This one is not promising though. Page 15 it says "The CPU is not a user serviceable part. Accessing the CPU in any way may violate your warranty." <<<<-----?!?!??!
I hope this aint serious
-
Maybe they just "advice" one not to change... hell I don't know, kinda a reseller option I guess -
The name of the manual..... why, Clevo....

mySN.de,
Did you happen to get CPU/GPU temps during any benches (stock or OC'd)? Can you share? -
-
Thx! Anxiously awaiting everyone's results.
-
Is it just Eurocom and Origin that are open for pre-orders right now in North America? I have hunted through most of the resellers and have only found those two. Furthermore, I am assuming these are only pre-orders as well with the expected date is sometime in September.
Any other insight out there from anyone? -
Sager is supposed to be selling a version of it as well, hopefully announced in the next couple of weeks.
-
try EUROCOM P370em Scorpius
Eurocom Corporation - Number 1 in Desktop Replacement Notebook Technology -
Hoping that the soundcard wont be like...the 170EM's
-
BUT....dont forget - we are getting Creative X-Fi MB2 software with it!
So thats not just THX, but also other goodies as a dedicated EQ, player, EAH effects + more! -
We experienced the sound system in the P370EM to be a lot better than in the previous models.
By the way, Notebookcheck released their P370EM Review (in german) today:
Test Schenker XMG P722 PRO (Clevo P370EM) Notebook - Notebookcheck.com Tests -
Just for the sake of happiness, here's another review (yes it's been posted before) Test: Schenker Notebooks XMG P722 - GTX 680M im SLI *Update* -
Can you just explain the extreme temperature difference between both GPU's under full load. One over 90 the other around 80 degrees. Is this due to CPU heatsink combination with one GPU headsink?
thanks -
Hi The_Maniaq,
of course we can only speculate but considering the final design, the shared CPU/GPU heatsink should be the main culprit here. Of course this won't be a problem in real-world scenarios (i.e. not Furmark). -
I saw,you still don't have the new corsair ssd in your shopSo i'll wait a bit still
but i love this maschine
danke und schönen tag -
sounds like a bad paste job in the test unit to me
-
This is really TWO 300w adapters w/ a bridge used to connect the two. The same solution was used in the Clevo x7200 when OC'ing two GPUs and the CPU was tripping the original power adapter. -
get a single 680m and oc to p7500(probably under 85°)or get 2 680m which can't be oc(p10000,95°)。
p2500+10° or 700bucks?
What you guys think? -
Notice the GPU temp showed in Furmark is only 74C, maybe that's the GTX680M on the right when you flip the P370EM over. And the other one is running at 95C. Also the 3820QM hit 100C+, dual heatsink didn't work well I guess.
-
and the 95° one has already downclock。
-
So yea basically the 2nd GTX680M is hitting 95C with just 324/1800, the cooling on the 2nd GTX680M is really bad. -
Sager just announced their machine going live soon.
https://twitter.com/SagerNotebook -
I need 3 things in my P370EM:
1.) AMD 7970m
2.) i7 3740QM (any ETA date on release?)
3.) Corsair SSD (next generation) -
-
Well they also posted it on their FB page which is governed by them
-
Tried installing P370EM's X-Fi MB2 suit on the P170EM, it seems like in the P370EM they are using one with complete different hardware ID, however the THX Studio Pro is updated to 1.04.12. Hopefully there'll be some modders adding the P150EM/P170EM hardware ID into X-Fi MB2 like on the ASUS G73 series
.

working perfectly on my NYX7112 (P170EM) -
. Which X-Fi MB2 package did you use tho? The hardware ID for the integrated sound card that the P370EM is using should be HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0269&SUBSYS_15583700 (inf mining again
).
Could you check your hardware ID and see if you see anything similar to that? -
-

@Hackness
HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0892&SUBSYS_15587102&REV_1003

Those are m P170Em's Hw Id's, the package I used weren't for the P170EM but pieced together from various sources. -
Man those temps... what a letdown. I had such high expectations too
I really wanted to SLI both to about 7-8 thousand (3d mark 11) and destroy. No chance. -
So the new P370EM is the 17.3" "re-configured" P180HM? o-O
Clevo, y u troll me so hard? D: -

-
Pssst, they are up on our site now for pre-order
ETA Second week in September. -

No need to wonder you can check it out, we also have it up for pre order.
-
Great work Xotic! With the same setup, its just over $100 dollars less than what I paid. How much is shipping to Canada? Why is there a wait for your 7970m's?
-
Hrmm, I wonder if I can buy the BB and a single 680m somewhere, and then sell my BB...
I kinda dont want a 17" though... -
Support.3@XOTIC PC Company Representative
Shipping prices are listed during checkout but if you PM me I let you know. Its frowned upon for us to list any prices.
The 7970M will be available a couple weeks after the Nvidia options are, trying to get clarification why but I'd guess they may use a different motherboard then the Nvidia ones. Thats pending verification however.
