    Hello community

I read both threads regarding the thunderbolt firmware update, i have a clevo p771dmg, but the downloads are gone from clevo website and i don´t know what to choose, I have BIOS version 1.05.09, my thunderbolt appears like this https://www.dropbox.com/s/v53mcxr7nctf2b6/1.png?dl=0 and i cant know if can have the Akitio Node that i want to buy....

Another thing that i noticed, is that my BIOS says that my notebook is P755dmg, but i´m pretty sure it´s the P771dmg

I´m looking for somebody with a P771DM-G with the necessary files for me to update, is there anyone please?

    Thank you in advance

Does anyone know if there's a new firmware around. I'm seeing a version 25 on the Intel Nucs from earlier this years so wondered if Clevo had one available

The TBT firmware isn't part of the BIOS.
It has to be signed by Intel Israel for every single Notebook model. So if the ODM (Clevo) doesn't order a Notebook specific update there won't be one...

Just wanted to post a success story with the Sager NP9778 Clevo P770dm-g and egpu gigabyte aorus 1080 box via thunderbolt.

Got the latest bios ec from sager tech support after about two weeks. Used the firmware from this thread, and the Intel thunderbolt driver from two posts up.. a full shutdown, it finally connected better, updated the aorus box via it's gaming software and a restart put me in order. Thanks guys I appreciate the info I gained from you all and so here is a success story for the next guy.

I should also mention I have the older 1575 thunderbolt chip and am running the latest Windows 10 fall creators update.

Ok fine. Hope Clevo heard our request (.................).
I always said, you could have the BEST hardware in the world, IF the Bios or Firmware are the WORST or Outdated.... = ****

Can you say if we could hope from you a 1.05.15 version with all your mod ? Mine come from EvoC but it's an old one.

Don't hesitate to say if we need to PAY, no problem.

    Thank you for your reply

    Regards, Ray

The latest isn't always the greatest. So if a newer stock base yields worse results, I backport the essential code changes into the last good base to work with for a Mod. So e.g. even though it may show v11PM vX the code often has everything from the v17 stock and in many cases even newer.
Or like with this TBT firmware here. My P870DM3 system shipped with a newer firmware than John's, but mine didn't support external GPUs, while his older revision did...

    Hi.

That's a common problem without any happy end, see here too :

    https://communities.intel.com/thread/111547

https://communities.intel.com/thread/128350 (intel Nuc with intel TB firmware Tools………..)

the intel TB3 controller firmware is one of the most problematic to update, only the driver have some update.
I think without a custom tool or any effort of intel to make a generic Tools for all Thunderbolt controller, updating the firmware will be only a Dream for any other brand……

PS: the latest driver available :

    Win 10 : https://www.station-drivers.com/ind...tory&Itemid=352&func=fileinfo&id=3493&lang=fr

Hi all! I'm having huge trouble with my thunderbolt -> dissplayport cable.

I figured I need to do a Thunderbolt firmware update for my Clevo P870DM-G but every single link is dead.
Could you kindly post v18 or v21 firmaware updates?

    EDIT:
very kind person already sent me those updates and now I can fully use my Thunderbolt port

hopefully someone with some knowledge might still be watching this thread but i recently purchased a thunderbolt display only to find my laptops thunderbolt doesnt seem to have the right version installed. i have tried to look for the links in this thread because they do mention the clevo P870DM-G (which i believe i have the P870DM2 from sager). if anyone could post the firmware or point me in the right direction that would be appreciated. this laptops after sale driver support seems to be very much lacking (even when it wasnt very old). thank you

Whilst I do not have the files from the original post, I recently achieved the same outcome by talking to my Clevo reseller: Metabox (Australia).

Download the full set of files that I used here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/xkwz0b9soxjk7ia/AAD3Ok-sX6FQB-zXONuv65Apa?dl=0

I'll try to keep them available as long as possible, but I recommend that others download them and post alternate download links here just in case I stop sharing the files in future.

I have a Clevo (Metabox) P750DM-G. I was running BIOS 1.05.10 and I had a slightly older version of the Thunderbolt software installed. I found that when I plugged in the Thunderbolt 3 device (which I had already installed the drivers for), Windows 10 was saying that device functionality was limited and the device itself was not turning on properly. The TBT firmware was not up to date and it needed to be updated.

If you have the same laptop, the following process may work for you. For convenience, the files at the download link are numbered in order and file 000 contains some of my System Information printout for you to check if your machine is similar or not.
    1. Files 001 and 002 allowed me to update my BIOS from 1.05.10 to 1.05.15 (you may not need this!)
    2. File 003 contains FwUpdate.exe. When I ran this, it appeared to be the equivalent of "ControllerForcePower.exe 1" from the original post. Don't quote me on this though. I'm not 100% certain it did do that. I just was running any and every exe in the hopes of fixing it and it got caught in the middle. It also does appear to "echo" something along those lines, which is why I think it did this.
    3. File 004 contains the latest Thunderbolt software and two drivers. Make sure they are installed. The drivers might be installed by setup.exe, but if not, just right click on them and select install.
    4. File 005 contains most important part: The firmware update tool that Metabox provided from Clevo. Run that utility as Administrator! Note that there are two instructions files within the zip. Instruction file 1 was not totally useful for me as I did not have ControllerForcePower.exe, but I believe that when I ran FwUpdate.exe, it performed the same action. Honestly, it's difficult to tell. I tried so many things during my time that Step 2 may not be necessary. Either way, I did it, so it may work for you. Note that Control Centre must be installed.
    5. File 006 is merely proof of my success (after many hours of attempts)

Also, before doing any of the above, go into your BIOS settings and make sure that Thunderbolt is enabled. There are also options around using the Thunderbolt port for DisplayPort output. Your BIOS must be set to the correct settings, depending on what you want (DisplayPort or data out of your Thundebolt port). I set my TBT security level to none, but it should be set at a the next security level up, whatever that was called.

    I think that was everything...

I hope this helps some of you. Happy to hear any feedback.

One more thing... I found that merely installing the firmware update and rebooting was not sufficient. I found that after my first install of the TBT firmware, it did not work. I subsequently uninstalled the TBT software, rebooted, then tried all the steps again, then it worked.

With the internal GPU options it does seem an odd combination.
