Thank you, I'll try this one, hope it works ok... I'll report back in a couple of days
I have nothing special installed on my laptop... used the drivers from here (the intel 8260 still does not work ok with my old router on the 2.4 ghz band.... with the latest drivers) and on top of the drivers I installed the Intel XTU. The computer is stable, did not had any issues except the brightness thing.

So I'm assuming you are updating the drivers then as they are released?

Might need to update some on my computer when I receive it back :p

Yo @Phoenix how are you liking GTX 980 compared to 980m SLI?

let's say I pick up a profile... Quiet for instance... I turn the brightness all the way down and I am expecting the software and windows to remember it. With the brightness down I shutdown windows and I am expecting to find it down when I reboot next time.. The issue is when I power on the laptop and boot to windows the brightness is at 100% even if the windows brightness sliders and the CC software shows me that the brightness is set to low (0%). The moment I touch the FN+F8 on the display (up to the left) it shows me that the brightness is already down and suddenly it goes down from 100% to 0%.
I might be from XTU interfering with the Clevo CC but so far I still need it... other then that I don't know... everything is up to date, the drivers, os, very few apps installed...

I don't know if I have the courage to test the .26 version... it's so old that it might contain other bugs :S (but I will download it anyway, thank you for the link)

Hope I explained decent enough :)
    Thank you !

yeah and I never experienced that because, I want my brightness @ 100% always.

The power saver profile is set by default to a low brightness and even then, I turn that brightness up manually :D

Control Center AP updated to v5.0001.0.39

Edit: Removed from the OP as a user reported a bug where this version disables his Synaptics Touchpad randomly. Use with caution although I recommend to sticking with the version in the OP

Unfortunately, all the drivers do not have a g-sync 75Hz
Only original Clevo v.354.35 is 75Hz

what do you mean all the drivers do not have G-SYNC? Only the nVIDIA Drivers have anything to do G-SYNC and no every driver I have tried has G-SYNC and 75 hz refresh rate if your screen supports it.

    Yes I understand but ...
Phoenix tried to test drivers but with VSYNC OFF !

    The quick and easy test:
    1.G-Sync - ON
    2.VSYNC - OFF or use 3D applications
3.Start the Value Unigine or another benchmark
For me, then I have well above 100-150 fps and G-Sync does not work
The image on the matrix looks tragically then is torn, lack of liquidity
It acts only as the makings limit 60fps in riva tuner :(

By contrast, of original Clevo v.354.53 it is perfectly:
    1.G-Sync -ON
2.V-SYNC -OFF or use 3D applications
    3.start the Value Unigine
75 hz or if one is forced 100Hz works perfectly
Then I have a lock on 75 or 100 fps as it is refreshing LCD
Liquidity is the perfect time :D
This is done with the V-Sync OFF

Sorry for my english perfect :biglaugh:

Great observation so you mean GSYNC is not working in any driver other than the 354.XX? I did notice that Need For Speed Rivals was not as smooth as before maybe because of this

Exactly on this controller is perfectly - Clevo serwer VGA driver (10.18.13.5900) for Windows 10 64-bit. :)
The rest of the drivers that some trash

    Check Valley benchmark Unigine !
There are immediately FPS in the upper right corner
    1. Activate G-Sync
    2. Off - VSync
    3.Set LCD native to 75HZ
    4. Fire up the Valley Unigine
If you do not have a lock on 75 hz - verdict does not work G-Sync
This also applies to all games

Perfect is the only - Clevo serwer VGA driver (10.18.13.5900) for Windows 10 64-bit.
Therefore, do not install any other drivers

I have not tested yet these latest - 362.00 ?

G-Sync is working with windows 8.1 / 362.00 drives FYI, just ran 4 different tests and all locked at 75fps no issues.

Bro, putting FPS aside, I just played Need For Speed Rivals with the old driver 354.09 and I could almost swear it was smoother, or maybe it's just in my head / placebo effect

This is very possible, I play project cars and due to (what it seems) driver changes my SLI machine actually provides a much smoother experience than my single card at the same graphic settings. Just be sure to test and log your info to see if you can point your fingers at something specific.

HWiNFO64 or MSI Afterburner (many others too this is what I tend to use) and save to a CSV file in most cases, either way you can build a graph and find where the dips are. Usually if there is a big problem as soon as I see it I will pause the game a logging and taking a look to see whats going on with FPS, CPU , GPU , Power and different things. It takes time to learn and get the setup that works best for you but it can help narrow things down so you can move in the right direction.

In the end, don't forget to have fun and not over analyze things. Its helpful to walk away and come back to it otherwise you can spend all of your time without knowing and ending with frustration.

I use HWiNFO sensors only and keep it in the backgrouond, what I forgot is how did Mr. Fox once setup MSI Afterburner to show stuff in game like FPS, GPU clock, etc...

You can use either program HWiNFO64 or MSI Afterburner and output the results to screen with RiviaTuner. Just apply what you want to see in the HWiNFO64 settings under "OSD(RTSS)" or in MSI Afterburner on the Monitoring tab and check mark each selection.

Right, so I have Afterburner installed now, can you please take a few screenshots of the settings I need to do to have the graph of the FPS, GPU speeds for core/mem / temps and maybe even CPU clock speed if it supports that

Here is a shot of MSI Afterburner to start, it will install RivaTuner by default. After this just click on the setting cog on MSI Afterburner and you get the dialogue show in the pic below. Once this is up click on the "Monitoring" tab and select what hardware indicators you wish to Graph, Show in OSD (On Screen Display), LCD. Not difficult at all.
    upload_2016-3-3_10-8-52.png

If you wish to log to file as well then scroll down and you will see the option. Just check it and set your location.

depending upon your video cards GPU ID, for example the gsync version of the 980m will read GM204-B, and the gsync version of the 980 desktop will be distinct to the non Gsync version also, I believe its A1 but not certain. So you must have the compatible cards and monitor for it to work.

Use nVidia inspector to see if your gpu is GM204-A (NO G-SYNC) or GM204-B (G-SYNC).

    @GTVEVO

Just tested the 362.00 in Valley Benchmark and the FPS was locked at 75 FPS so I guess GSYNC is working, or at least I hope it is functioning as intended and is just not locking the FPS

did you use DDU before installing them? I installed them just fine on my Sky X9

99% of people who have problems installing newer nCrapia Drivers is because they don't use DDU thinking the clean install option in the drivers themselves is enough.

No but for a typical upgrade ddu is not required. Did you upgrade? I question the version number jump as in indicates many changes so I am curious about others experience.

I never EVER install any driver before using DDU. Never had a problem, not once.

There is no such thing as a driver upgrade, this is not a program you update. It's a full fledged driver, hence, DDU is a MUST to get rid of the old driver, all its file and registry remnants, then I still tick the clean install option when installing the new driver as an extra step to ensure a full clean installation.

I understand but also when doing this you remove all personal application settings which I get tired of resetting. I have never had an issue before but something is up with this driver.

Did you do any testing after the install to record any perf changes.

nope, everything is on hold until I receive my Silicon Lottery CPU as I have reverted back to stock BIOS on my P870DM in preparation for installing the new CPU, GPU overclock also disabled. Everything is stock now so even if I benchmark, it wouldn't be fair and wouldn't let me know of any improvement as my previous benchmark with the previous driver was on a 42x4 CPU clock + 100MHz OC for GPU/Mem
