this sucks.
dell has their sli 8800 working awesome.. have you read that anatech review about sli 8800 in dell?? they say it's the best ever!
I hope clevo get's their sit together and figure something out!
I get my 9262 in a couple weeks and hope to god that the drivers work.
i don't want my card underclocked...
-
-
thats great to hear bud.
-
You could always go to the dell support site and try their drivers I guess. Might be worth a try.
-
-
If i purchase a 5793 form one of the vendors, exotic, will it come with the drivers installed for this card??? Would I be better off buying it with the 8700??? Games are last on my list.
Also I guess you can't get the correct drivers directly from nVidia. -
-
just tried 174.31, installs but still down clocks the card
-

174.31 32bit XP with Modded INF works perfet -
My guess is that is something to do with power settings, it looks like the drivers think that the laptop is running on battery power even when plugged in. nVidia drivers automatically underclock when on battery, so if they are detecting the power state wrongly that would explain what is happening. But this is just a guess at this point -
Dunno, sounds like a good guess, but the cards don't allow overclocking with the drivers either.
-
i heard the new FW for the 7RU stops that underclocking issue. someone said it's the BIOS.
-
-
maybe they arent compressed, but just placed in the winrar archive.
but i hope that clevo will respond to your email,
hopefully its the bios, but bios flashing is dangerous? -
but i select for the 8800MGTX hardware not the 8800GTX desktop hardware.
and it still underclcks the card.
maybe if i select to force install a 8800GTX/GT desktop it will work.
will give feedback later -

hey bwxeon what video BIOS do u have.....this is what my card says..

new bios for 570ru, apparently it solves underclocking of 8800:
http://www.eurocom.com/support/drivers/bios/m570ru_bios.htm -
-
If you overclock, I don't think you would want to flash with that eurocom flash. It lets you underclock, and once you underclock, you can't go back up. And you can't overclock at all, with nTune that is. You raise the bar, press apply, it goes back to factory, or lower if you underclocked it earlier. But it DID let me use 169.61 and 169.32 drivers at full speed.
-
169.61 from laptopvideo2go
-
can you guys try some of the drivers from the 17X series?
-
-
Tried the 174.31 but that won't even install for me. Most drivers won't install so I can't even try it.
-
v173.65 try this one it should work, wish I kept my list now of drivers that actually install. I tested atleast 20 and found a few that would work.
also I see two files to download which one did you guys use? -
yeah but if the new bios wont allow overclocking?
-
Anyways, I can't try 173.65 because I'm using 64bit vista.
-
why don't you guys just overclock with nibitor and nvflash?
that's how I do it.
dump the image into nibitor, change the clocks. boot to dos and nvflash -b romname to back it up. then nvflash overclock.rom
done deal. -
I tried reading my bios in windows AND dos and both don't work.
It says "No NVIDIA display adapters found" in DOS
It says "Can't start driver: 1275" in Windows
Do I have to modify something to get it to work with 8800? -
not sure why, but can't get it to flash for some reason. Maybe I'm doing something wrong to make the bootable disk can one of you guys post a few steps on how to do it?
-
Can you boot into DOS? You also have to rename one of the files to like bios.wph or something.
EDIT: You need to change 57RU_108.WPH to bios.wph I believe. -
dude, you have to be in REAL DOS.
like make a boot-disk with win 98 dos or mem key. then boot then nvflash. -
I was in real DOS, I used my USB key
-
are you using the newest version of nvlfash?
did you successfully dump the bios into nibitor ? -
I'm using nvFlash 5.13
Dumping the bios means Tools -> Read Bios -> Select Device to read and then save that to dump right? I can't read the bios. Gives me that error I said before.
Or maybe it's read into file, but that option is grayed out, read into NiBiTor is also grayed out.
And theres no devices under select devices. -
-
edit:
or you can try this
http://www.freedos.org/freedos/files/
Somehow throw the flash file into the iso
or if you have daemon, I think you can do this
Mount
Make sure you can see windows protected files
Drag files out
Then drag those files into a new CD that you will be making along with the flash files. -
somethings messed up.
maybe your cards/bioses aren't written into nvflash or nibitor yet.
that's crappy. but would account for you not being able to read/dump -

Overclockable Driver for Clevo D901C 8800M GTX with Modded INF
NVIDIA Forceware Driver v169.04 (32bit XP)
http://rapidshare.com/files/96669054/NVIDIA_Forceware_Mobile_Driver_v169.04__32bit_XP_.exe.html
I have INF that work with all drivers on Clevo 8800M GTX if some one want INF for any driver just send me pm -
Made a iso cd this morning and updated the bios. So far stock drivers can't overclock, but going to try updating the driver next.
not to worried about overclocking just wanted the updated drivers.
Most of the 17x drivers wont load, but 169.32 works just fine. -
so can you post the steps in creating a bootable disk that will flash the bios please?
-
Step #1
ok first thing you need is to go here http://bootdisk.com. Scroll down to the section that says BOOTABLE CD . Click the 1.44 and download. This is the iso file you will be using to run in dos and to actually do the update. Place the flashcd.iso file in a folder you can easily locate.
Step #2
Go to www.ezbsystems.com and download ultra iso and install.
Step #3
Go here http://www.eurocom.com/support/drivers/bios/m570ru_bios.htm
and download the 57RU_108.zip. Extract files to a location you you can find easy.
Step #4
Start ultra iso and click continue to try. Click file then open and locate the folder with the Flashcd.iso. Once open go down to the area that says "Local"
locate the file that has the 3 files downloaded from eurocom. They will be in the section to the right of "Local". Drag the 3 files up to the section above.
Now select file and save as and name it whatever you like.
Step# 5
Insert a blank cd and in ultraiso and select tools and burn cd/dvd image.
Step #6
Restart the computer and the cd should boot. It will ask you to hit any key and then have a screen that shows a:. Type in R: and hit enter. Now it should say R: and type in Refresh and hit enter. This will start the bios flash process and once it finishes your done. Pop the cd out and restart and go update your video drivers.
Edit: What CpxAzn said is true you can't overclock and downclocking locks the speed. It takes a restart to get it back to stock settings. -
yo thanks for posting that guide.
but i just flashed my bios (before reading your post) using the same method u did, i found it through google searching.
im downloading XG drivers now to see if it will work.
btw i booted form a dvd not cd and it worked a treat -
The eurocom bios's overclocking tools are for the cpu - I have my x9000 running at 16x multiplier (3.2GHz) and coupled with an 8800M GTX I get 9498 3D Marks with 167.43 (stock drivers from clevo). I only get 91xx with the 174 series but they seem to be more stable.
-
-
it was mentioned that the newer bios's had "overclocking tools" and someone said that they assumed these were for the cpu, i was simply clarifying that this is the case, and yes, the "tools" are in the bios.
-
ok i installed the new 169.28 drivers and they run at full speed
-
Well I think we can conclude that the issue is actually the bios of the 579X and not the drivers that are downclocking the 8800s
Driver for 8800M GTX that does not suck?
