I ordered mine in feb, so it wasn't on preorder, also, we tend to be a bit behind here in DK, atleast with notebooks, so atleast mine is not one of thoes first models, I think the first I saw to this lap was about a month or so after seeing ppl getting theirs delivered here on the forums :) Think that mine was one of the last with the .07 bios.

well im not sure whats up with it, i have some bios' that GangstaOne uploaded for me, but unless they are brand-new, then im sure i have tried them before. Im sure i have tried most versions of the .08 bios. I believe there are 3 versions, differing by what im not sure, but they have different dates.

I had the same problem as naticus and couldn't use any other driver than stock or it would downclock.

I most recently tried installing the newest driver from the Sager site, but that downclocked too.

I had then gotten so sick with it all that I just let that driver be and went on to installing Vista Service Pack 1, and viola!

After the installation the new Sager driver was functioning perfectly with no downclock and even netted me about 300 more points in 3Dmark than the stock drivers. (10040 on a 9262 with a single 8800m with no OC.)

If you haven't already then perhaps installing SP1 is worth a try.

    HELLO ALL!

After having a list of issues and troubles myself, I finally locked down the BEST driver for this card (INCLUDING SLI SUPPORT). Also, for some of you, if you experienced problems, this driver and method of installation also bypasses the BLU-RAY error that you get when you try and install a custom driver (instead of your original manufacture one), and you can't play BLU-RAY DVD'S.

    Here goes:

Restart your laptop, keep pressing F8, until you come to the boot screen. Through the list of options, look for something like "DISABLE DRIVER CHECK PROTECTION." It will be something along those lines, you can't MISS IT, trust me. After pressing enter on that, Vista will boot up as usual.

Download the "167.43 DRIVER FROM WWW.LAPTOPVIDEO2GO.COM." (Click on any driver, scroll right to the bottom, and open the quick menu to go to "167 drivers....." Download the CORRECT one for your operating system. I use VISTA 64, so I downloaded that one. ALSO, download the "Modified INF" which is linked NEXT TO the download link for the driver itself.

UNINSTALL YOUR CURRENT DRIVER, RESTART AND RUN "DRIVER CLEANER PRO" (DOWNLOAD if you do not have it, its FREE). After running it, it will clean any remaining files of your previous driver. NOW YOU ARE CLEAN AND READY TO INSTALL.

NOW. After EXTRACTING THE DRIVER in your directory/folder, COPY AND PASTE the "modified INF" into that folder. RUN SETUP and install the NEW 167.43 driver. After finishing, it will restart. When you are back in windows.

TRICKY PART: Once in windows with the NEW DRIVER, RIGHT-CLICK on my computer, go to properties, go to DEVICE MANAGER. Double click on DISPLAY ADAPTERS, and RIGHT-CLICK on your Graphics Card GPU. Choose UPDATE DRIVER SOFTWARE. Choose "BROWSE MY COMPUTER FOR DRIVER SOFTWARE." Choose "LET ME PICK FROM A LIST OF DEVICES." Choose "HAVE DISK."

NOW EXTRACT THE 167.43 DRIVER INTO THE EXACT FOLDER YOU DID FIRST (This will extract the ORIGINAL INF which is needed). After doing this, CONTINUE WITH THE "HAVE DISK" stage above.

Now in HAVE DISK, browse to where the ORIGINAL INF has been extracted (it's size should be 40-50kb). Choose it and click OPEN. NOTICE THAT THIS INF IS "DIGITALLY SIGNED." Now CHOOSE your graphics card in the list, and click on NEXT and FINISH the installation.

WHEN FINISHED, GO INTO THE NVIDIA CONTROL PANEL, ENABLE SLI (IF YOU HAVE IT).

FINISHED!! BLU-RAY DVD'S WORK!!! (I USE CYBERLINK POWER DVD 8), AND GUESS WHAT:

I JUST GOT 11,000 POINTS IN 3D MARK 06 AT......

    1920 X 1200 (MAX RESOLUTION)!!!!!!!

IN SLI MODE.......... WITH NO OVERCLOCKING!

LET ME REPEAT: WITH NO OVERCLOCKING!!!

THAT'S WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT! HOPE IT ALL WORKS FOR YOU GUYS!

OTHER DETAILS: (DELL XPS M1730, 4GB RAM, 8800M GTX SLI DUAL CARDS, AGEIA PHYSX, 300 GB HDD, WINDOWS VISTA ULTIMATE 64-BIT)

Sorry man, just thought there might be one soul out there who this would help. I tried some new drivers myself too, like 175.12 (NO BLU-RAY DVD PLAYBACK, also, bad performance, much lower 3D MARK 06 scores. Anyways, hope it helps the one soul in need, thanks!

    Hi everyone,

got my nice laptop for a few weeks now and was quite busy at work so I did not take some time to post to present myself when I joined this forum...
I just wanted to say that the 175.75 driver does not underclock my gpu ...it only reduced my 3dmark06 score from 10172 to 9668 ...bit disappointed so unless I did something wrong when installing, so far I will stick with the stock drivers until I get real trouble playing new games !!

well,OCing the CPU and GPU beyond your wildest dreams could get that.
But even so, the temps would probably be close to 100C...
Unless they removed the back panel and exposed the components directly to same very fast fans...

    attn nirvana :

could you post the details of your highest results when ocing cpu?

    I get : total 10172 / sm2.0 4663 / sm3.0 4353 / cpu 2622 with T9300@2885Ghz and 167.43 drivers
    So far I can't get the fsb stable over 235 - 240 max :-(
Maybe there is something to do with a tweaked killernotebook "turbo bios", but out of my knowlegde and capacities anyway !!
Might try soon oc bios for the 8800gtx though ;-)

If you OC the CPU by SetFSB then you loose the ability to oc the GPU and vice versa.
I have OC the GPU by the Bios but then i cant OC the CPU by SetFSB i wont budge

I`m not using the 8800M GTX :( , so I`m not experiencing downclocking...
However, Zfactor has been working on the BIOS for a long time and he mentioned nothing about downclocking,so I`m assuming that somehow he found a workaround.

@ Nirvana : I see your cpu results are a bit below mine but you get additional pts in sm2.0 and sm3.0 !! I have to check and maybe do a clean reinstall of the 175.75 drivers.

@Martorell : I want to check weither it's interesting to find a middle stable ocing for both cpu and gpu. I think that the gpu is limited by cpu, so it should be more interesting to oc the gpu than the cpu (?)... or not !! Will check this when I have a bit of time.

Im no laptop expert but so far what know is that when you OC the CPU through FSB you raise also the GPU overall due to the pci bus beeing faster.
So by doing that for some reason when you try to OC the GPU it just wont allow it.
I have the GPU OC by BIOS to 600 1500 950
And since i have the x9000 i can OC to 3.2Ghz no problem by the bios.
But no chance to then use SetFSB to OC the CPU.

I rather OC the GPU and only by Bios anyway
The diference in games from 2.8Ghz to 3.2Ghz is noticable but not as much as the GPU to the above mention speeds.

For the 175.75 driver from LaptopVideo2go, did you guys use the modded INF, or one of the INFs included in the zip file with the driver?

I'm sick of the downclocking sometimes so I'm going to use the ones on the sager website.

But I have another question, where can I find an OC'ed bios?
