Are there any FREMONT-based people around here that are willing to help us in the issue we are encountering with PCMW?
I would really appreciate your help if you could go down to PCMW's place and confirm what is happening with their business and if there is any contact number that is posted anywhere in the vicinity.
I hope you take this seriously. Thanks.

huh, FF3 and my AV software are going berserk when i visit PCMW's website. what's going on here?
EDIT: 5k posts -
Hi,
I live in california and fremont is about 45 minutes away from me... are you talking about fremont, ca? -
kevindd992002 Notebook Virtuoso
@m4ttjirm
yes I'm talking about Fremont, CA. I'm asking for help because I can't do anything about it since I'm in th Philippines and my laptop is with PCMW and they seem to be running away from business (not yet sure if that's the case though).
This is the reason why I'm asking for favor for someone to check out the place and ask for any information regarding the company. I'm just losing hope right now
I hope you can help me.
The address of PCMW is: 41829 Albrae Street, Fremont, CA 94538 -

I'd been to the site countless times, and never had the maleware warnings until recently. It's almost like they did it on purpose.
-
kevindd992002 Notebook Virtuoso
Yes, but why would they do that?
-
and if they get caught try to blame it on the malware infection. OR Someone decided to attack pcmw's website/server as payback for what they are doing.
-
Okay,
I may be in that area this friday, around their hours of operation... what is going on? They are just holding everyones laptops? They won't send them back after repairs and won't answer anyone? Have you tried to call the fremont police department...? Even If I got there, what would I say to them? -
I live close to Fremont. Give me a street address and I'll google it and go see. I need an excuse to get out of the house.

I am in the parking lot on my Blackberry. There no sign on the door. It is tinted but I see stuff inside. I can't tell if they are open and I would rather not just stroll in. If it is a store front it's a poor one. There is a sign at the entrance.
-
Shady... sounds like things are taking the turn for the worst.
-
Yeah, I have a bad feeling about this. I tried calling earlier today and navigated the phone system to sales, I spent 10 minutes on hold without ever hearing a person. You would think if they were in business I would of gotten a person pretty quickly. I ended up hanging up.
-
Nah during the m860tu pre-order period I used to leave my phone on speaker-phone for usually between 10 to 15 min listening to elevator music waiting for somebody to pickup, then when they picked they'd say bs about my notebook shipping next week

@S.Subzero
Do you mean you actually went there? There is no sign of "for lease" or whatsoever?
About the phone system, that is the very problem we are having with PCMW right now. If you read the PCMW poblem sticky thread, you will understand what I'm saying. -

@m4ttjirm
is there no possible way that you can drop by earlier than Friday? This problem is just taking way too long, really. And we're suffering for each day we are thinking about it -
Other people have lives too kevin, be glad they are even helping at all in this day and age.
-
kevindd992002 Notebook Virtuoso
Alright, thanks.

It's an office park, and I didn't want to attract too much attention. I did walk right up to the door and stick my nose against the glass, but didn't see anyone, and nobody seemed to notice me.
There are a bunch of "private property" signs around, and I didn't want to risk any kind of reprecussions. I don't own their products and I don't know anything about them. I just happened to be in the area. -
My post indicates everything I saw and did there. I did not mention any "lease" signs since I did not see any. My post was real-time and the time listed for the post was the time I was there. My post clearly and directly says I was there, in the parking lot. I wasn't in the parking lot at some other location.

well if you are looking for the PCMW shop its not there from six months now i told you i dont know why you dont believe me the first time when my friend was there to get my laptop was very big inscription PCMW at the door
-
kevindd992002 Notebook Virtuoso
You mean six months in the past the store wasn't there already? How do you explain why they received my laptop last April 9?
-
-

I think he meant that there was a large PCMW sign on the facility when his friend went there to pick his laptop up, which would imply that something's changed since they apparently only have a small sign now.
-
kevindd992002 Notebook Virtuoso
Oh, now I understand. But IMO those are assumptions, and we don't know the real reason why PCMW has a small sign now.
Anyway, Shyster can you help us legally throught this issue? Gophn suggested that this matter be explained to an attorney and seek for help. And you are but of utmost help in the past to all of us.
Would you be able to do that for us? I mean just contacting legal entities to check out on the issue. Because clearly this is not a good customer support they are giving us. -
Kevin i mean that in January 2008 when my friend in usa go to PCMW shop [office] to get my laptop there was a big inscription PC Micro Works office or shop something like this he didnt get the laptop the first time they send me the laptop i receive empty box after that my friend go there for second time to get the laptop then when i wanted to buy two 9800M GTX cards and when they didnt reply me for two weeks he go to their shop again and the inscription was gone the people from their office was gone the entire office shop was empty and i dont know who tell him from there that they are not anymore on this address
and in the begin you was so sure that you will get back your laptop with no problems
now you can see what pcmw really do i think that they want gather all they can
in hardware and money before they leave for good -
kevindd992002 Notebook Virtuoso
Ohh. But what could be the explanation how they got my laptop when FedEx delivered it to that address? Because when I asked PCMW over the phone regarding the place where to deliver my laptop, they told me to tell FedEx the address that is posted in their website.
-
It's quite possible that they pick up the boxes once a week or have someone there that generically accepts packages for the entire building.
Like a UPS Store, you don't have to have a real address, but Fed Ex and the rest will ship to that store and say it's delivered. Then you can pick up your mail later. -
kevindd992002 Notebook Virtuoso
Ahh, point taken.
What I'm confused with is that when you call the number of PCMW that's listed in their website, there is a selection there for the directions on going to that address which means that they permit people to go there and do business with them personally. -
JGZinv has give you an explanation.. i want to ask what can explain this they accept calls only from people that want to buy from them or give back their laptops for repair but when someone wants to get his laptop back from them they have phone line and email server problems
well maybe they have some people now there i dont know but its very clear that all
of you wont get anything from them if you dont take some action against PCMW
you have to remember that they dont do this for the first time -
kevindd992002 Notebook Virtuoso
how would they classify who are the ones calling for buying laptops and the ones who sent their laptop for repairs?
-
i dont know but from what i've seen thats what happens now and it dosnt matter anymore if you dont do something they will not give back your money thats for sure
-
you can even see a available sign on google if you pull them up but it may not be for them since there are other things in the same building
-
-
kevindd992002 Notebook Virtuoso
That's usual. Imagine I'm calling from 10AM (1AM in our place) up to now non-stop. You would imagine how frustrating could that be. Doing it almost everyday now.
-
Have any of you guys that went to their building try confronting anyone as they were coming/going?
-
-
i cant understand you people just complain here in the forum write all day and so on ask somebody else to help you to do something for you i dont know but people like this really deserve to be rob from someone like PCMW
when you see that they rob you and treat you like a garbige and you still do nothing just go to some lawyer and ask what you can do to take your money you cant undarstand that if you dont do it nobody will do it for you
its that simple
i'm sorry if i was rough but this is the truth
GOOD LUCK! -
GangstaOne, I am surprised at your opinion. I am not involved in the situation, but this post has brought me in. I do agree that legal action is necessary. Additional to this action, a community effort may be of huge benefit. There has been legal action brought against the company and its operators before (as referenced by Shyster and others) with results still in action. Please be considerate to the community. Coming together and pooling resources is a proactive step, especially in these economic times where lawyer fees may outrun the 5k price of many high end computers.
-
Have you guys noticed something? PCMW is DOWN THE STREET from Mediawave...
-
I think that's because they're located in a giant industrial park that is chock-full of little electronic and computer-related companies, so it wouldn't be completely surprising for Mediawave to be close to PCMW (or, for that matter, for PCMW to have moved into the same industrial park in which it's primary vendor was located).

One thing that ought to be explored, however, is getting in touch with the attorneys for the landlord from Texas to see what their intentions are with respect to the corporation and any assets, including buyers' computers sent in for warranty repairs, the corporation may still possess.
Odds are not much will come of such a communication, other than to make them aware that other claimants to the corporation's assets exist; however, there is the small possibility that they might be willing to reach some accord or mutual understanding with the computer owners that any systems still in the possession of the corporation if, and when, the landlord finally manages to obtain control of the corporation, will be returned to the rightful owners and not auctioned off in order to realize funds for the payment of the landlord's judgment against Mr. O'byrne. -
The_Observer 9262 is the best:)
Am I the only one who got this mail from "Matthew O'Byrne, CEO PC MicroWorks Corporation", [email protected]?
