i think that 9800M GT bios have better memory timings you may know that most of 8800M GTX cards have problems with memory i think that 9800M GT bios can solve this problem not sure but my cards are little more overclockable with 9800M GT and more stable in games

Should really be in either Hardware Upgrade or Dell XPS section, but anyways~ 9800M GT = 8800M GTX so should be no significant increase in performance. Dell's just stealing your money. 9800M GTX though, I think it's a 15-30% increase in performance(?)

Yeah it's about 15%. Since it will probably run you over $1k to upgrade to the dual GTX, it's not worth it at all.

Be aware that the 8800M GTX on your M1730 is a proprietary card. It will not work with the GPU BIOS from an MXM card or any other format other than the one for download on Dell's website.

I have read in other forums that you can put the 9800m GT BIOS on a 8800m GTX card on some systems. I want to do this because I am experiencing the yellow screen problem and dell did not release a fix for all cards. I have a dell xps m1730.

I did continue this in a new thread

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=460368

    Thanks
