Any updates from them?
-
They are on the forums, why don't you ask them yourself?
Here you go: Reflexnotebook and for the PM, click HERE.
I hope I helped, enjoy
-
Well my credit card was charged 3 days ago. And Mark the rep I was dealing with told me anywhere from 5-15 days I should have my laptop.
edit: 5-15 business days that is. -
Hi guys, what's the issue Aylmer? PM, email, or post your Q here.
-
I think he is just curious about the 7970m shipments with you guys. Most resellers have posted on here to let their customers know whats coming. So thats my guess. He wants an update on shipments.
-
Hi thats right! Just wanted to see who's been getting updates from Reflex Notebook on their order, since been hearing from Xotic Pc and all those phase production updates for their customers!
-
^ I agree, I ordered mine without a 7970m on May 5th, and it was not processed until the 14th where Xotic or IBuyPower, etc process in like 24-48 hrs, so I have no idea where mine is at..
-
I ordered mine without a 7970M as well. Ordered on May 2nd, shipped out on May 15th. Should receive it Tuesday!
-
seriously ?
I wonder when mines is coming, i didn't receive anything yet
Ordered May 3rd. -
I don't have a shipping notice yet. But my card was charged 4 days ago. So I hope that means shipping will be soon!
-
My order date was April 30, invoiced and charged on May 1st with no shipping notice yet. Hopefully we get some answers or updates on shipping!
-
Is that with the 7970m too?
-
Yup !!!!!!
-
Hi guys, all PMs have been answered ...
Happy long weekend.
-
Thanks Novah.
*Update* 05/21/12 to all you guys is they still don't have a date yet, will have to email them on Tuesday to figure it out. -
Thanks aylmer. Will keep that in mind.
-
Yes, I contacted my sales rep and he is going to ask Sager for me and let me know on Tuesday
-
Let me know what he says thanks
-
Yes please update us. I order one on the 11th and they took their money on the 16th. Still no word from them about ship date.
-
Spoke with them this morning, did not have any updates for me. I ordered mine on April 30. They will be contacting Sager- I will talk to them again in the afternoon. From how the individual I spoke with went, I can tell my order has not been shipped. Pretty disheartening to hear.
I will see what the updates are and may consider asking for a refund and switching to buying a desktop locally depending on the news. -
That's sad. I'm really disappointed (not only for me). I purchased from them for the sole reason they are Canadian reseller, but the fact that I still haven't heard anything from them, and them charging my Visa kind of pisses me off.
I was actually going to buy from Sager or Mythlogic but Reflex being Canadian swayed me into buying it from them. I really need a laptop for school (3rd week in already), and I don't know how much longer I can hold out for.
I may just cancel and order an Dellienware with the same specs.
-
^yeah this is kind of depressing, still waiting on my guy to let me know, not sure if I should shoot him another email or wait cause they do close at 5 don't they?
-just spoke with him and it's actually Sager who isn't responding back to update Reflex at the moment; so they just sent a new email reminding Sager to report back -
This is from the rep I have been dealing with Mark, he says:
"Sager only got 30 AMD video cards in the first shipment. Most they where all gone in a matter of hours... We shipped out a few of them but most of our current orders did not go out. P.S if i dident send you a tracking number then the ETA is 8th of june. We are sorry for the delay but better Sager delay the shipments rather than shipping a defective product."
So this is our update, a June 8th ETA is not bad, as long as I get it before August I will be happy. Hope this helps everyone. -
I didn't even order the 7970m to avoid that BS... I plan on upgrading to the 680m later on. I can see that for the AMDs why they would be June, I predicted that when people were asking before. There were SO many orders for them, and well low supply and high demand off the bat is going to be slow for everyone. And I'm pretty sure they did not receive any of those AMDs until the 16th-21st so just imagining all of the resellers of Sager not to mention all of the orders to the Sager company itself, its understandable but at the same time it does suck!
Update: The issue is on Sager's end not Reflex's, as I've been seeing on their company site, many options are back ordered. For my particular laptop, the Matter screen shortage has "slightly" delayed it, the rep I'm speaking too has been very good with keeping me updated as soon as he hears from them. -
So then, still worth buying from Reflex as a Canadian?
-
I'd say yes, their customer service has been great, and whatever the problem maybe they will try and find a solution, however most of it has been with the Sager company itself. So many people have been ordering from resellers / Sager that they are having a hard time keeping everything in stock, nothing you can do there. Also with the bit of the price adjustment in Canadian rather than buying from an American reseller, was like $20 more for me, and they cover shipping and brokerage which is basically a $120ish value. So in reality you're still saving more buying from them.
-
Yeah the issue isn't Reflex, and like MrLost said there customer service has been really good. So I would recommend them for sure.
-
I'd say yes to ordering from Reflexnotebook. I placed an order 2 weeks ago, which includes the 7970M. Customer service was top notch and quick. I expected a delivery date of mid June. Today, just got my confirmation that the laptop has shipped. Can't wait.
-
Rep confirmed mine should be shipping on Monday
-
My patience is large, i can wait 2 months if i have to.
I know those waits will be compensated ( Getting the new laptop finally ).
But the patience will end when my current laptop ( Dell Inspiron 1520 ) will die since it's close to leave me ( Batteries died ), panic attack will be putted on lol
-
Hahaha, that was my problem, I actually really need a new laptop, my M1530's graphics card / screen is shot! Been hooked up to a 7 year old monitor using integrated graphics for the last 5 months, going nuts lol. So this should be a huge change when it arrives!
-
Good morning everyone, hope all of you are doing great. As some of you have mentioned the delay was expected with the new line of CPUs and Video cards. We appreciate your patience in the matter, it's pretty much first come first serve and availability is an obvious given the new product lines.
We apologize for any inconvenience and i'm sure your smiles and heart rates when you get and power up your laptops for the first time will more than make up for any delays
-
Thanks for the update, even tho you are telling us things we already knew
. As long as I have before August 1st I'm happy.
-
As long as I hear something by Friday or Monday next week I won't cancel. I'm not going to wait a month. Its already been 2 weeks, even though I ordered May 11th.
-
Anyone get any updates?
-
Since yesterday was American memorial day, I'm looking at today / tomorrow t "should" be shipping. They already charged my card so if it doesn't I'm not going to be very happy on top of the month long wait already.
-
Well, concerning the delay on the 7970M, here's what Sager posted in another thread http://forum.notebookreview.com/sager-clevo/666375-no-more-clevo-me-29.html. Hopefully, June 12th shipping is worst case scenario and they will find the problem before then:
First, we would like to say sorry that we took so long to post in this topic. It was a long weekend, and we wanted to give time for users to make their comments.
Second, we would like to clarify why Sager has voted 'NO" on the poll. It is simply because Clevo has never supported an end user directly and they shouldn't. In the past, when they have made their base BIOS available to the public, it has caused nothing but trouble -- from simply wiping out customers’ windows activation status to bricking systems due to missing customization tweaking. Sager stands 100% behind Clevo in its decision to remove their standard base bios from their public servers.
Those of you seeking support should seek support from your point of purchase, and the retailer’s will come from their supplier and Clevo. Therefore again the poll is simply invalid as the HM model is marked EOL as it should be. This does not mean your support resources for any bug and trouble issues have been cut off. We hope that any users that voted Yes in the poll understand this.
Sager has always and will continue to give our users our 100% attention to any issues reported to Sager, and give it our best efforts to resolve issues. If we can’t do that in house, we pass the issue to Clevo and in return Clevo will give Sager their upmost support to reach the goal of satisfying our customers’ needs so long as the issues can be resolved without any limitations or unacceptable side effects to the user experience.
Now we come to the main topic -- AMD 7970m support on the p1x0HM series. Many of you may have received a reply from Clevo the last few days saying that the 7970m is not supported on the HM series due to a chipset / design limitation. This is true. If you reread the Sager news thread you can see that the HM series (Sager NP81x0) was originally released with the NVIDIA cards, then later added the AMD lineup.
At the time of release there were limitations that forced us to create an alternate internal model number due to an inability to swap between NVIDIA and AMD GPUs. This limitation was caused by the LCD panel as well with the way the motherboard was designed to double validate for standard and 3D panel. The AMD GPU thus requires special non universal timing to the LCD panel that caused significant side effects if GPUs were swapped (e.g., GPU running at full speed all the time, no power management, flickering or fuzzy output) without matching SW / HW tweaks.
The tweaking requirements are different depending on mother board revision and LCD panel. With so many combination of the HM series hardware, we simply cannot give an answer quickly until we are able to get the card tested on as many main board and panel revision and combinations as we can. After that we will be able to determine if an upgrade package can be offered. Just a couple of simple examples of what might be needed which includes LCD EDID firmware updates (which require the unit to be sent in for support because special HW tools are needed) or mother board revisions.
Also you should be aware at this time there are open issues with the second batch of AMD 7970m cards. Both Clevo and Sager are swamped using most of our resources on getting the 7970m back on track Once that is accomplished we will be able to begin our research and testing of the HM series in regards to the 7970m.
The good news is that there are no quality concerns with the first batch of AMD 7970M cards. Many of you should already know, but we just want to stress once again that the first batch of the AMD 7970m received and shipped by Clevo has passed all Clevo and Sager QC with less than 1% fail rate. Please take comfort in the fact the unit has proven to be remarkably stable and enjoy your AMD 7970m. Obviously, with the rigorous tests the unit has passed, there is no recall planned.
The second batch received by Clevo was different and extensive Clevo QC revealed a 20% fail rate. The remaining 80% of cards passed without any issues on standard QC as well as extended QC.
In the case of the AMD 7970m card, Clevo has chosen an extremely careful approach to deal with this new batch of cards that has displayed a failure rate that is both high and strange. That is why they took their quality control process to another level. It's also why they have been working closely with AMD to find a solution to this problem. Clevo could very easily have shipped out the 80% of cards that passed through their QC testing, but instead they chose to hold back all of the cards until they can get to the bottom of this problem with this new batch. The bottom line is that shipments will not resume until Clevo can give customers complete confidence in the product they purchase. While it may be an inconvenience to some users, the decision was made with the best of intentions and with the goal of delivering the best product possible. We applaud Clevo for taking this issue so very seriously and for working so hard to make certain our customers receive the kind of quality product they deserve.
Thanks again for your patience. -
^ Yes that makes total sense for anyone inquiring to get a 7970m. Where does this leave those that didn't order it (instead ordered 670m or 675m)? Is it that we just so happened to get stuck in it all?
Also just a question about the HM series not supporting the 7970's; will the EM's be without this problem, meaning will they be able to upgrade when say Nvidia 700 series or AMD 8000 series come out?
Btw, are you with Sager? Because your public profile doesn't state much of anything besides the signature and really anyone can put a picture there (not to doubt you or anything).
Thanks for posting, and updating us here. -
Haha, it would be funny if I were with Sager, but no. Bought a laptop from reflex like you and am patiently waiting (sorta) and browsing these forums. I'm just too lazy to make more of a profile.
Have you been waiting a month for a computer with a 675M? Or did you switch from the 79790M because of the delay? I can only speculate like you if there has been a large delay.
As for the HM compatibility thing, according to my post above, I believe that they will look into it. I don't really know the track record for notebooks, but my best advice would be not to bet on it being compatible. Who knows. -
Ohhh hahaha, you were just relaying they're message, I see, feeling a bit slow right now. Cause I was thinking he's (or she) is from Canada...And yes I have! My order was processed on the 7th for the 675m (with hopes to upgrade to the new architecture when the time comes) and I'm stuck in the BS! Apparently they had a screen shortage which they said would delay until late May early June, but the so-called delay lasted a whole 2 days. Sager wanted Reflex to charge my card which they have apparently and from that should be shipping in like 2 days, counting Fri and today (not Mon cause it was American memorial day), so I hope to hear of it shipping tomorrow! From there supposedly will take around another 3-5 days to get here. So all in all I'll be waiting around a month (including weekends). Of course I realize it was a dumb time to order a laptop seeing as Ivy and this 7970m business came to be, but I am actually in dire need of a new laptop. I said in a post above I've been using this one connected to a 7yr old monitor for the past 5 months or so and its killing me! I just so happened to read about Sager and all their stuff and decided it would be the best one for the price to order. Not sure what's going on with alienware atm but the last time I ordered from dell it took only 2 weeks to build and ship. But what can yeah do..
Edit: And yeah the reason I asked that question at the time cause I thought you were from Sager haha -
So seems like I am going to be waiting a while for this laptop. I noticed the 95% gamut matte screens are on back order, everyone knows about the 7970m delays, and now I see that there is a delay with the Bigfoot Killer N wireless card. Hopefully they can all come together around the same time. Getting me my laptop in a somewhat timely manner.
-
Laptop has finally reached Ontario. I'm expecting delivery tomorrow.
-
Nice! Lucky you.
-
At last mine has finally shipped! Supposedly yesterday, scheduled arrival Tuesday! Can't come any sooner!
-
** Update ** Shipment just left Windsor area, it's so close.
-
I envy all of you lol
./jealous -
Same. Didn't know that any of reflex's orders got through on the first batch of 7970's.
-
i even had to postpone my trip because of that delay, quite sad.
But I'll stay patient and hope i won't get eated by another delay -
When did everyone order?
-
My order date was May 14th. So it's been two weeks for me.
For those that ordered with Reflex Notebook - 9150
