The newer panel doesn't have a high color gamut like the V.4's 90 percent.

Any of you guys that can remember, how many cables that has to be attached to the AUO B173HW01 V4 panel.

I have ordered the Clevo P170HM, so it will offcourse fit perfect with the 17,3" AUO, but how much work do i need to do, in order to install the panel myself :)

There is both a power cable + a data cable?

Only 1 cable, just be careful with it.

What are the differences between AUO B173HW01 V.4 panels 2 versions:

"HW:0A" and "HW:1A", and will they both work on the Clevo P170HM?

One of them has something to do with Dell.

But i would imagine myself that there are no differences, that its just some kind of modelnumber or something, they both are the V.4

They should both work fine make sure the connection has the same pins and on the same side. Sometimes the part # can be the same but the input connection is on the side of the display you need it since your cable has little extra slack.

And in what side should the connector (40-pin) be in, for it to fit perfectly, if its the Clevo P170HM!

if you are looking at the panel and computer from behind, then its in the left side right?

Yup that is correct. If you are holding up the display and have the back facing towards you, it is on the left. In the event you find a screen with it on the other side they do make cable extensions to. (FYI)

I can vouch for Screenintaipei, people have been talking good about them in this forum, but if you want to be 10000000% sure to get the right panel, then use http://www.yslcd.com.tw/

90%+ of everyone in here are buying their AUO screens from them! and they are always the right one!

Mkillah and everyone else in here: a good rule is looking at sites and auctions, where you can see the actual item, and where the modelnumber and brand, has been closely captured on a photo!

the fake sellers are often the sellers that use a standard image on all their auctions!

    thanks! Delpan and Kevin

Are there some low resolution panels which have a high gamut level? because it would significantly boost game performance

    Good information in this thread.

I'm hoping to receive my Satori in about 2-3 weeks and Matt @ Malibal confirmed it has the Hannstar. I think I'll take receipt of the laptop and explore the Hannstar for awhile. If I do decide to upgrade it will be tough to decide between the V4 Glossy and the V5 Matte B173HW01.

No, I've never heard of, say, a high gamut 900p LCD.

    Hello,

Can we replace a P170HM 60Hz screen with the 120Hz one?

Sorry, the 120Hz LG screen, that is available right now, needs an other motherboard...maybe other screens will come out in the future that use regular connectors...you could still use a 120Hz external monitor and 3D emitter...
