Lame or not, it's a good test for graphics. It uses Dual Core tech, and it's generally pretty intensive at higher settings with all sorts of effects and such.

I have to admit I only liked it for the single player story myself, wasn't my kind of RTS game :|

    Again thanks flip.

Am I the only one not forgetting that playing on the battery will lower the performance with 50% ? Try the games over while having your adapter plugged in, it'll rock through any game you'll play. (or at least way better than playing on the battery)

That's not entirely true. Battery optimization of the system only happens when it's well, optimal for the system. Generally speaking if the notebook is doing something that requires more, it uses more, unless it is literally nearing death or you have a strict battery rule setup.

Besides did he even mention that he was gaming with or without the power adapter? I know he was going to test the battery life, but gaming isn't usually part of that, as anyway you look at it, gaming will drain the battery much faster.

The way I understand this, it means he was gaming while on battery. :p

Scavar, I know what you're saying, still though I am highly persuaded that anyhow gaming on your battery will reduce performance. Maybe flippoet could try it out ? :)

i changed the power settings so that even on battery it'll use "high performance" and i believe i was on battery when i took that video since my first few games wiped the battery.

meaning that at times it uses more than the 512 dedicated??... i thought that they chose more dedicated but eliminated turbo cacheing.... more good news!

I'm not sure this is correct. How are you determining that it uses TurboCache?

Holy moses... Yes, I'm getting this. The Asus C90 looked AWESOME but with only a 6-cell battery and the total lack of anyone selling an MXM graphics card, it's upgradeability is a moot point.

Any news on how much to OC it to match the G1S?

wait, so the fact that it is turbocaching......does that make it a lot better than, say, the 256 8600GT in the new Dells?

512MB on the card is more important and much better than 256MB on any other model.

Whether it has an additional 256MB using TurboCache is almost totally unimportant.

OMG, I had no idea it shipped from CA. I'm from CA. Stupid UPS got the address wrong and sent it to Great Bends NY. Xoticpc had to request an intercept. Not it looks like I won't get it till the end of the week. Probably would have gotten it on friday.

Hmm, with 512 mb on board RAM that is enough for the 99% games out there..

So having more RAM dispensable to the GPU and moreover it being turbocached(so slower) wont gonna make any difference, me thinks..

Sure on a 256MB card it could make a diff, as 256Mb aint enough for loading textures in games these days, but 512 Mb is more then enuf..

Yeah I've had a pretty good experience with UPS up till this point. What's really annoying is taht they do make the intercept until the scheduled delivery date of 7/02, which is pretty much when the truck driver sees it in his car and doesn't deliver it to return it to the center. I would have been willing to pick it up too.

Begs the question how one makes the mistake of sending a package across the whole damn country.

That's just really bad luck I guess, maybe in my case it'll be easier to just pick it up from the Sager warehouse in California, if possible.

lol, well my guess, is that they thought the first digit of my zipcode, which is a 9, to be a 1. And some how tehre's a house with the exact same adress as mine with everything the same except that one digit.

well that's my take on it. Only one that makes sense. Unless it was just some really stupid processing mistake.

EDIT: The interception has just been made in NY.

Maybe someone hacked the system and changed it so they could get your notebook. Makes sense to me heh.

About that Turbo cacheing, in most cases it won't make any difference, but with more games using more more and more textures, lighting, shaders, so on and so forth it helps to make the card a little more long lasting, even if it is slower then the dedicated memory.
