3d05 for 2gig G1S with WSXGA+ : 7704 (From NBR review)
I think the added ram should make a big difference. Everything so far shows it can do what we all hoped it would, in my opinion. I know I am not expecting it to beat the G1S, as long as its in the ballpark I wouldn't know the difference anyway![]()

bizcom's website is hell!!! forceware from nvidia doesn't work and i can't find any modded .ini files and i don't know how to make my own.
-
why wouldn't forceware work?

Sager also doesn't publish what kind of RAM they use, but all you have to do is open it up and look to find out what yours has.
It is always better to buy your RAM from Sager so that it is matched, and you only have one place to go for warranty issues. Also, buying RAM somewhere else because it is a few dollars cheaper doesn't make much sense...too often you have to pay tax, and shipping, and when you buy cheaper RAM too often that is exactly what you get...cheaper RAM. -
Just to chime in with what Donald is saying, I've seen too many incomplete price comparisons in this forum. (Yes, I just joined in May and already I've seen too many of those.) And sometimes we're not talking about a few bucks but $100 or more when complete systems from different manufacturers are compared. When comparing prices, people need to take everything into account. Once taxes and shipping are taken into consideration, that can really nullify any perceived differences.
I've seen this recently when some people were comparing the Dell 1520 with the Sager NP2090. They just looked at raw numbers. No tax or shipping. In this case, people were shooting themselves in the foot (roughly) $100 at a time. -

Does the Sager have multimedia and volume control buttons on the front for easy access?
-
So 3 gigs is the sweet spot for being able to run vista 32 or 64 bit versions right? I never was sure for sure but is there a issue with one being 2gig and the other being 1gig? -
there are no volume buttons, donald do you know what utility i need to get the buttons at the top to work? the servers at bizcom are so freaking slow i just went to sleep while it downloaded. forceware wouldn't work because they only included the 64 bit forceware
-
-
as far as i can tell no, maybe its part of the top right buttons thing that isn't working for me. one of the foreign reviewers said something about we're stuck with fn key functions to control volume. btw since i reinstalled vista the sound is pretty good. actually its is very good to me.
-
download the 32 bit drivers. They are not bigger than 60 megs. You had me thinking that nvidia's forceware would not work.
-
oh no they dont at all. you need to get them from bizcom
-
-
i'm getting the forceware form there. sager doesn't have the drivers on their website
-
JapNux on the compal section just did his mark06 can got: 3D mark 06 score :3491
I am pretty sure he did it on 1680 res too which would kill the g1s which got 3630 at 1280X1024
ill ask to make sure -
AHHH, that's great. WOW lol
-
that is sweet, i wish i could get the damn thing installed and check it out for myself! i think my download was corrupted somehow
-
That 3Dmark06 score u saying definately has to be on default resolution of 1280X1024, right?
-
i just asked him to check what res he did it at. if its at the default res, this comp is wihtin 200 pts of the g1s, which is awesome, especially considering the clock speed is HALF.... imagine what it would be at the "stock" 700mhz speed... :drool
-
his thread: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=135346&page=3
in the process of finding out the clock speed and res he did it at as well as full specs.
CLOCK SPEED WAS STOCK AND SCREEN SIZE WAS 1280X800 -
cool, i had a bad installer. installing it now and i'm running it. i'll post my gimped scores as soon as possible
-
so when are you getting your other gig?
-
when newegg ships it to me... i might get one from best buy and return it when the one i ordered comes in
-
I really need to order my Sager, all this talk is just getting to me. Hahaha...
-
my 06 results won't publish... does anyone know how i can fix that?
-
Hello Flippoet!
I have a question: about the picture you post, what screen resolution did you use: (1280x800) or (1680x1050)?
I'm interested to know if it worths to pay 80$ extra for this option.
Can you post to screen captures with both of the resolutions?
10x, Peter -
mine did that once, just try it again, if it still wont work, throw it through a wall :/
-
Can't you just take a screen shot?
-
nope it won't show me the results at all... any suggestions i've tried it twice. i have 1280 x 800
-
How about just posting your data.
-
i would but i have no data to post
-
Lol!!! This is gettin pretty hilarious.. -
Wow. Thats not really too bad. A gig of ram and maybe a bump of clock to the GDDR3 and youll have a powerhouse.

Just more proof of how synthetic benchmarks are rarely written for the latest technology...and that is only one reason some of us continue to pound on the fact that you simply cannot rely too much on them to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth
-
i've played two one hour games so far and the battery is still going strong
-
What games are you playing on the Sager 2090?
-
-
i'm playing company of heroes and supreme commander on high everything. i was averagIng 15 fps i believe with supreme commander. sorry i think its more around 15 than 20
-
-
Wow, that is not a bad score. Very nice, and this was with 1GB with vista. Was this with 32 vista?
-
yep 32 bit vista. i can't wait for my ram to come in to see what it does for the score
-
Wait, 15-20 FPS in both games? Are the games unplayable? Those are pretty low frames.
-
the battery lasted 2+ hours while gaming and it gives nice warning beeps when your battery starts dropping below 10 percent
-
15 in supreme commander and it is very playable.
Here's a vid of it:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tf1zKZJf48E
it jumps 3 times in that video. that's because i pieced it together from 3 different videos recorded by fraps
and if you want to download a better looking version
http://www.apgovnotes.com/Supreme Commander.wmv
here is a screen capture of the video settings
http://www.apgovnotes.com/SupremeCommander%202007-06-29 23-06-23-45.bmp -
That ain't too bad for a game as intensive as Supreme Commander on a notebook, nonetheless.
-
I would say that's pretty good. Lower a few key settings, shadows, models, and such and FPS could jump up pretty high.
Graphics only need to be so good after all. Good job by the way flippoet, thanks for all your info.
