The much awaited Q9650 quad core (3.0 Ghz/12 MB cache/1333 fsb/45 nm) is available NOW. The Killer Notebooks ōdachi 大太刀... scores the crucial first strike! This system will be featured in the Fastest Notebooks in the World shootout against DELL, Alienware, Falcon and VooDoo.
The O.S. level quad core optimization that is exclusive to Killer Notebooks ( until they figure out how to copy it) should afford this 3.0 Ghz quad core the ability to compete with the 3.33 desktop & 3.5 Ghz Extreme Mobile's over clocked dual cores head to head in gaming and 3DMarks yet decimate them with the additional 6 Ghz core firepower in extreme multi-threaded and processor intensive tasks.

Congratulations! haha Very nice!
-
Nice...so all the quads that Killer Notebooks has been selling are O.S. optimized?
-
O.S. ? Operating System
? Or something else ?
-
I assume it's the operating system..
...it's in the OP's post #1.
-
Cong!but still, even q9450 is an overkill for most (95%) of us
-

First, yes, I should have been more clear, O.S. as in Operating System.
I kept hearing, "Quad cores don't do anything because the software isn't optimized / multi-threaded" So I theorized a way to force the O.S. to utilize the additional cores constructively to give a synergistic effect on the system. Gaming and synthetic benchmarks are one thing, but this really shines in real-world applications when hogs like anti viri/spyware/malware etc. are included under the umbrella.
Always keep pushing for more!!! What I really like is that the Q9650 is going to be right on track price-wise with the current Q9550 pushing those prices down.

Can we get a wPrime 1.55 screenshot?

Hey Gophn, your D900K seems like such a dinosaur. 3Dmark06 score of 4800 @ OC'ed. LOL, you need the D901C with Q9650 with SLI GPU, bro!
-
Charles P. Jefferies Lead Moderator Super Moderator
Q9650 . . . and I didn't think the D901C could get any beastlier.
Guys, we can't have special discounts for certain people . . . that is against our reseller rules (no direct advertising to individuals). This thread is fine however. Continue conversation. -
I really want a new quad-core rig with at least an 8800M... but my D900K is still strong and functional.
Maybe I'll get a Clevo with dual quad-cores (octo-core) when they debut it. -
Rules duly noted. Just thought I'd help a certain Clevo forum member/icon out a li'l since he's such a nice deserving guy.
-
here ya go.

Dontcha find that stupid !? I mean, c'mon! The least you could expect is a friggin' DELETE button next to edit ? Or atleast when you click edit, and click delete, it gets deleted. Or worse come worst, you get a confirmation popup...
-
actually, his permission were reset recently... i think its got straighten out by Chaz just now.
-
-
some people still do not know how to delete posts... they just are too lazy and leave a message like "oops... sorry. delete this post please." -
There are two delete buttons? Isn't that just confusing?
-
Hey Killernotebooks, I just noticed you have a notebook called "Wakizachi" on your site. Did you mean to call it "Wakizashi?" like the sword? Or was the "c" intentional =p?
P.S. Nice job on that laptop, hope it does well in the competition =) -
congrats man.. gl in that contest. hope it beats em all

There are two interpretive spellings of the sword name, yours being more widely accepted as correct. Many of these things I take off the top of my head and remember (???) from the olden days. In this case by the time I realized I was in error with the spelling the graphics were done and I was too lazy to redo them all.Good catch though!

I pretty much had it calculated the same way. I pondered what Falcon would send in, and I think it will be an e8600 3.33 Ghz dual core if they can get their hands on one, that or the e8500 3.16 dual core.
The E8500 is listed on their site, as well as the Q9550. I think their technicians will opt for the dual core because I can almost guaranty they aren't doing anything special with the quad core like I am. It makes sense to go with clocks over cores if you solely want to pump up the 3DMark scores. On the other hand they may want to go with the "show-off factor" with the quad core, in that case I can almost guaranty that the Q9550 will be used, and without optimization, and the lower clocks... it's a no brainer.
It is going to come down to build quality and know how, you're right and that is what I always want. Heads up, make your opponent fight your fight. Falcon is awesome, I'm not taking anything away form that... but I say, with a high degree of certainty that I think Eurocom builds their systems. They aren't doing what I do.
The wild card, I think is if DELL or Alienware (by well of DELL) pull off an 9800 GTX that no one else has. Of course that's me, that's my thinking. DELL and Alienware don't have people thinking like that, so it's probably a non-issue and I am worrying for nothing.
Always send the big guns...
-
haha nice work
-
people must be out of mind to buy from Falcon NW.
-
Good luck for the competition as well. -
I hope you show them good Killernotebooks!
-
Yeah... best of luck!
-
might get a q9650 for my system, but more likely to be a q9550 =/.
-
already have a q9550 waiting for the re-supply, I wonder what the timeline will be with the drop in price for the 9550 and getting the kinks out of the 9650... I wonder how much a hassle it would be to be able to get the q9650 into my order
-
>.> Or we could just ask the mods to merge the threads instead of resellers posting links to each others thread.
-
... Ahahahaha. Alienware. With 9800M GTX. Heh. Good ole Alien-release-notebook-for-sale-9-months-after-it-is-announced-ware. Alien-still-only-has-8800Ms-ware. Alien-made-potential-customers-wait-so-long-they-decided-to-buy-from-someone-else-ware.
I don't really see it happening. Mrrrhhh. -
Justin at XoticPC.com and Donald of PowerNotebooks.com ARE very reputable Sager resellers with excellent customer ratings. They fill in where Sager may lack in customer service. Hence, most folks on this forum prefer to go through XoticPC and PNB. 5 stars all the way! Nothing but raves and respect.
Mark of Killernotebooks is NOT a reseller. Mark custom builds and mods his own Clevo systems from barebones and sells them. So he knows his stuffs! Quality is job 1 with Mark. Nothing but the very best specs here, and hence slightly more expensive than Sager.
If you're on a budget and want a top notch gaming notebook, go with Xotic or PNB. You can't go wrong there. However, if you can afford a little luxury, and desire the very best, bleeding edge specs tweaked to perform, but ain't that gullible to be ripped off... If you want the very best, go with K|N. Reasonable pricing, I think, given the customized service. -
Hey killernotebooks did you get a chance to test out the sli cards that we talked about yesterday?
-
expensive paint jobs.
-
lol the flame paint job is 768 bucks :0

Skip the flame, burn the game

Guys - there's nothing wrong with someone supporting a brand. People do it all the time.
-
Hey No fanboy flame wars all 3 companies have stellar reputations you really can't go wrong with any of them. It's up to the consumer to decide what's best for themselves.

The majority of business done by Sager is through resellers. I'm in full agreement with the below:
-
going to killer notebook site, i notice they have a computer listed as top of the line. the executioner MX........ is this better then the 901c? why is it top of the line. is performance better?
-
The executioner MX is the M570TU or Sager np5796. It is top of the line for mobile chipsets but the 901c still beats it in out and out power
-
got it! just wanted to make sure

I was fighting with Vista all day yesterday. I am in the middle of re-doing the OS as we speak with an idea I had and all seems to be working as it should. Pretty much, just like how you have to install the drivers in a specific order for any notebook to work right; I am finding that with the Q9650, if you want it to work properly (at least how I have it set up with a RAID0 and the Intel Matrix Storage Manager) you have to take extra steps to insure the OS installs properly. -
just a little more proof that a 9800m gt is a re badged 8800m gtx.
-
KillerNotebooks Notebook Consultant
Oh it's definitely the same card. There is no doubt about that in my mind.
If the new reports are true that the core of the 9800 GTX is upgraded, like they are saying, now that is news. Good news!
Is that a cat whipping a guy on a computer in your avatar? -
KN what's the new reports re the 9800GTX core being upgraded you're referring to - is it something different to what is on the NVidia website about number of stream processors or whatever it was?
Thanks,
Petrov. -

Well originally I was told the 9800 GTX would be the 9800 GT with 1 GB of RAM (so an 8800 GTX with 1 GB of RAM).
Now they are saying that it will have a new core and be something completely different (which is what we want).
I think the confusion may have been introduced with the 9800 GT name and nVidia allegedly switching a spec at the last second (from what I have read)... I'm not sure exactly where the confusion came from, but I have my fingers crossed that the new information coming out saying it is a completely different card is correct.
Now what bwhxeon is talking about is a single 8800 GTX to 9800 GT in a system and adding a 9800 GT card to bring it to SLi. I am definitely NOT saying a single 8800 GTX/9800 GT can add a second 9800 GTX (if it is in fact a different core). Because that will not work.
Killer Notebooks dachi - debuts the first D901C q9650 quad core!
