I don't think the FL90 were available with the wsxga screens so you should be safe.

mm Q: are the WSXGA+'s from powernotebooks matte or glossy? I don't remember it ever being specified, and in my excitement to order, forgot to check/ask. I've never really had an experience with either, but from what I've read I guess I'd prefer matte. Then again it could be plastered all over the internets and I coulda just missed it because I'm tired.

I wonder what this means for me and my order hehe. Anyone worried about getting an FL90 shouldn't be. I highly doubt anymore of those are going to be shipping anywhere. I hope I get my laptop soon...again, hehe.

It's easier to go by resolution, the WXGA and the WXGA+ resolutions of the IFL-90 and their derivatives are all glossy, for now. Who knows what Compal may do next regarding screens.

Just for my own personal knowledge, Brasky, how do you deliniate between the -C and, say, the -V? I assume they are deliniated by resolution, correct? I am fairly certain mine is a glossy; I've just never heard this naming convention used.

He's going by the two stock XoticPC Sager NP2090 offerings, the $1,088.34 one is the NP2090-"C" and the $1330.84 one is the NP2090-"V". It never really caught on with me, I just call it an NP2090 with a WXGA or a WSXGA+, as that's usually the biggest delineating factor.

Err...congrats to the people who pre-ordered the Sager 2090, but I feel really cheated on this deal. I didn't order the Sager 2090. I ordered the Compal IFL90 through Donald. Same laptop...but wait...my laptop isn't included in this shipment. It seems very unfair that someone who has pre-ordered their laptop only 15 days ago will get their laptop before me while I have been waiting for 47 days. Shame on you Compal for not equally distributing the laptops to the resellers.

Oh well...guess I can wait another couple of weeks...heck I have made it this far. -_-

great news! i was considering canceling my order for the Inspiron 1520's but if my NP2090 will arrive within the next week or two, then I can wait. As long as it arrives before mid August.

That's really unfortunate, I'm not sure where Compal stands with shipping out their IFL-90s, but it's few and far between at this moment. Hopefully shipments coming regularly from what I hear will hold both Sagers and IFL-90s for everyone.

I ordered on July 4 with the WXGA, should I change to WSXGA+ for it to ship to me faster? I picked the WXGA so that I can get it faster...

The WXGA shipment is anticipated in next week. You would need to email or call your reseller and confirm if this change can be completed with this shipment :)

Sorry for those who find it unfair that Sager gets more units than PowerNotebooks and XoticPC. That's just how business is conducted in real life. Compal most likely does not have a consolidated list of all the orders that have been made by everyone in the US. They most likely get aggregate numbers from their resellers ("We have X units of model Y on order.") and then allocate shipments so as to take into account the number of units ordered but also maximize Compal's profits. If it is more profitable for them to send more units to Sager, then Sager gets more units. See this post I wrote a while back for more details about resource allocation in times of scarcity. When resources are scarce, fairness is not high on the list of priorities.

(I'm disregarding the theory about "other channels" because a) I have not seen Donald's post regarding that and b) I'd really like to know concretely what those "other channels" are before putting stock into that theory.)

    1. It isn't about Sager getting more, they are just getting them sooner...by one week.
    2. Sager did go out to "other" channels meaning they did not get these through Bizcom USA. However what the got is the real deal, and they inspected and tested them before making their announcement.

I say hooray for Sager for taking the initiative to find other sources when Bizcom USA was dragging their feet. It may only be one week, but at this point one week means a lot.

We apologize for not being as aggressive as Sager and staying within our own normal Channels, but since this is Saturday it only means we will lag by a few days...not even a full week.

Thanks for clarifying, Donald. It is interesting that Bizcom can be bypassed like that. I'm now wondering if Bizcom could possibly the source of some of the problems I thought originated from Compal.

Haha that is even better news for me as i was about to cancel the order too but i decided to go by the old saying "good things come to those who wait"

However i did change to the WXGA from the WSXGA+ in anticipation of getting it sooner but it seems as if it is a moot point now? Kinda depressed that I decided to jump on THAT bandwagon. At least XoticPC is nice enough to deal with me :)

What do you guys mean by express shipping?

is express shipping any other type of shipping option besides the default one? a.k.a. UPS orange, personally I got UPS blue and it just says 3 days so I was wondering if the weekends would count as 2 of those 3 days, if not, please explain, thanks!

Next day, 2-day, 3-day, X-day are *business* days: M-F. It is possible to get delivery on Saturdays but that's extra on top of the basic shipping charges for the speed you asked for. Sunday delivery is something I've never heard of.

This being said, packages do move between warehouses over the weekend. It's just that the trucks that go between the warehouse and your house are running only M-F (although they can do a trip on a Saturday if you pay extra for it).

So if you have a package scheduled for 3-day delivery which left on a Wednesday and gets to the shipping company's warehouse that covers your town on a Saturday, you'll get it on Monday. Yeah, it sucks but that's how it works.

Its easier if you just go to the sager website they have their 2 basic models the C and the V the c being a slightly more economical notebook while the v is sorta tricked out. v comes with only one choice of monitor the matte 1600x1050 or whatever it is and the c with the glossy.

edit: i see my response was way too late but good news! sager called last night to tell me my laptop will be shipped next week so i anticipate it on thursday.

So wait, just to confirm (because I don't understand what people are saying). Ordering from XOTICPC, will it be faster for me to get WXGA or WSXGA? When I called, the lady said WXGA, when I e-mailed Justin he said WSXGA. I placed a WXGA order a couple days ago, I need to get it before September. What should I do? (P.S: I would prefer WSXGA).

it seems like they will get regular shipments now so I would say get the wsxga, if anything you can change the order mid august if you think you wont get it by september but imo, you should probably get it before september.

if you ordered it that i suggest just keeping it there. changing your order will probably just put you in the back of the line again. but i am not the one to judge that. call xotic and get a solid answer.

I ordered a WSXGA+ from powernotebooks on the 24th, no telling when I'll recieve mine hehe, I was hoping before I left for school on the 8th, but it school doesnt start before the 24th so it'll be alright I spose--just wanted to play oblivion on it before I had to get serious. Too bad. 'Specially because the video card on this 5 year ol' clunker just fried, running on integrated. Here's to hoping the next shipment is swift!
