You can check your real Intel driver version in the Intel graphics control panel.

Hi all,
My NP9150 just arrived, and I thought I'd post my findings as well. I've only had time to test some Battlefield 3 multiplayer. I'm running the ultra preset with stock clocks and stock drivers. My utilization usually hovers around 95-99% (never goes below 85%). My FPS hovers around 35-50 (Average is usually around 40). However, if I lower any settings, my performance actually becomes worse. On any preset lower than ultra, my utilization fluctuates from 70-95%, and I see a slight loss in FPS.
All my drivers are from the stock clevo CD. I have Kombuster set on high performance in switchable graphics, and have that open prior to running the game. -
Very interesting. Lower FPS with lower settings?
Hmm I'd like to try that for myself. -
Yeah, I tried lowering settings from ultra preset to high, and my utilization starts going wonky. As a result, I don't actually gain any FPS from lowering settings
. If I keep it at ultra, utilization hugs 99% and my FPS hovers around ~37-50. It's definitely playable, but it's unfortunate that I can't lower settings for an FPS boost.
-
How do you guys check for utilization in-game? I only know the FPS render string.
When I tried lower settings, I got as high as 95 fps! High gave me ~60 fps. Ultra gives mes ~45 fps max. I'm on stock drivers right now and it's slightly lower in average than 12.7 official beta by a tiny amount. I guess I'll be going back to 12.7 beta. -
I'm getting 50% utilization in bf3..
This is ridiculous. -
@Seanzky
I have a dual-monitor setup, so I currently just move the Afterburner & Kombuster windows to my second display. I'm not sure how to set them so they overlay over a full-screened program.
@Jpech58
Is that your average? That's really low. Even if I lower my settings, my utilization won't dip below 60-70%. Have you tried maxing out all your settings?
-
Yeah I've tried maxing out all of my settings, doesn't change anything. The more people in the map = the less gpu utilization. When I join an empty server I get 75-85%. It's very odd... -

Has anyone of you guys tried to have ThrottleStop in background running, turned on, with only "BD prochot" option disabled?
It basically fixed my usage, althought I didn't had enduro issues in first place, but had some fps drops.
No need to check other options, just that one and be sure it's turned on.
Worth trying I guess? -
I'll try that out later, and report my findings.
Thanks! -
-
Just to confirm, the "BD Prochot" option should be UNTICKED?
-
Kingpinzero ROUND ONE,FIGHT! You Win!
Yep, unthicked/unchecked. Do not enable anything else, be sure to turn TS on.

anyways i cant seem to get throttlestop working. i have a 3720qm so clocks should be 3.6ghz in turbo right? well i dont even get 3ghz....Attached Files:

These CPUs will only give you a maximum of 3.6 GHz when 1 core is active and the other 3 cores are inactive. Windows has 500+ background threads running that are constantly waking up additional cores. As soon as this happens, the maximum Turbo Boost multiplier decreases. Hundreds of times a second, cores are waking up and going back to sleep so the multiplier is constantly changing. The only way you will ever see the maximum 3.6 GHz reported by ThrottleStop is if you disable 3 of your 4 cores. Of course, this isn't a very practical thing to do.
If you want to see the maximum average multiplier, download a simple benchmark like Super Pi Mod.
Download Super PI Mod v1.5 | techPowerUp
Start this benchmark program and now open up the Task Manager, right click on the app in the Task Manager - Processes tab and select Set Affinity... option.
This lets you lock Super Pi to a single thread of your CPU so it is not bouncing around from one core to the next. Run a 1M benchmark and half way through the benchmark, push the Print Screen button on your keyboard so you get a snap shot of what ThrottleStop is reporting. It should show 1 thread at a very high C0% and this thread should have a very high multiplier. It still won't show the 36 multi because of all the background tasks waking up additional cores while this benchmark is running.
The 36 Turbo multi does exist. It's just impossible to see the full 36 during normal usage. ThrottleStop 5.00 appears to be working correctly.
Edit: Turn off both types of Clock Modulation and turn off the More Data option and turn off GPU monitoring when testing. The less background junk running on your computer, the higher the average multiplier can go. Also ditch any side bar gadgets, etc., etc. -

Also if that's a screenshot of your current version, it's not configured as it should.
Uncheck/unthick those three options, unthick More Data, leave the rest as it is and turn it on.
Leaving those 3 options checked increases heat because you're wasting CPU cycles without a reason. Enable those three options only when you're sure that one of them is the cause of your throttling.
Ps: what I said above comes directly from Unclewebb itself, so credits to him -
thanks a bunch
i remeber now that all 4 cores cant run on 3.6GHZ.... throttlestop now shows me 3.3ghz, so im happy for now. but is the number shown in the top right, the frequency of all 4 cores or not?
my driver is 8.15.10.2712 everything is on stock (AMD/Intel) -

Can you link me please that modded driver , And tell me how to isntall it ? -if over the old one or just do a clean install? thanks -

Kingpinzero ROUND ONE,FIGHT! You Win!
That's great to hear mate
Please take a moment to add rep to UncleWebb, he deserves it.
I've just adviced what he said to me. -
will do
its weird how a single unchecked box can cause a 20fps gain and hold it stable...
amd definitly need to get their stuff* together -
