Can you try to play BF3 at med or high to see if you get 60 fps all the time ?

Then you'll have to patch it to 1.4.3.2 and it'll be 18 GB total.

Not to mention even with my 20+ MB/s internet it took 2 hours to download patches and install. Hope you have insane internet and an SSD.

This thread is about enduro and we turned it into Fn + 1 problem :D we should open a new thread regarding this!

Anyway, I have the exact same BIOS as yours and Fn+Esc works but Fn+1 doesn't.Bought it from mysn.de

Ok Lets clear up the FN+1 thing :)

Its based in the EC (Embedded Controller), its a special request option because of the changes that Clevo has made with how things work and are reported with the newer chipsets. The STOCK Clevo EC that a lot of companies (Ourselves included) do not have FN+1 enabled, because of the newer intel management engine work.

Sager and Eurocom (SA and EU respectively) have requested this feature from Clevo to continue on with it so thats why some have it and some don't.

Which one is right/better? Coke or Pepsi :p Its our standing that we just try and keep our customers up to date with the newer EC/BIOS's to fix issues and tune the fans then do the FN+1 trick, which while it improved temps, did do a number on the bearings of these fans.

Yeh - although I HAVE the Fn +1 working I would NEVER use it. Why bother? The fans run fine automagically for me so far.

It's nice as a party trick or just to know it's there as a feature but it's not one I would ever use.

I would trade it for a graphical icon in the system tray to show me the 7970M is running (not the Intel 4000) EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK. :)

Hey we are still doing some testing, so its a little early to comment, but we've seen improvement from 12.3->12.6, is it perfect yet? No, but its certainly playable (BF3 Ultra), BF3 ultra is how we game test every 7970m laptop before it leaves and all the guys who have played on one, not one of them really complained about low frames, AMD's drivers for this thing are still a WiP. I don't have a copy of Dirt3 so we can't test that one.

I just bought BF3 today (can't kill a fly for the life of me) and mine doesn't spike in multi-player at all. I have it all on ultra just like fantomasz in the video. I don't know how to show the fps and GPU load % but I can say that there's no lag, spikes, stutters or any problem whatsoever. Unlike fantomasz, though, I don't have the stock Clevo drivers from the CD. I have 12.7 official beta that I installed (video drivers only) over 12.5 stock.

With stock drivers, straight from Malibal, installed I downloaded the official beta 12.7 and ran the installation. I chose custom, then chose only the display drivers and that's it.

this under utilization problem is not driver dependent - fantomasz gets near 99% utilization with both stock AMD driver and 12.7 beta. Myself and every other person who has this problem have tried both drivers with no success.

For 3dmark and games like skyrim, dirt 3, and deus ex, I get results pretty much on par with everyone else, but on Crysis 2 (fully updated) I can barely break 40fps and it usually hangs around 22.

Anyone else having a particularly hard time with Crysis 2?

crysis works perfectly for me 60-80 fps and rarely drops to 55. try uninstalling all updates and see if tht makes a difference. i didnt get round to updating it yet.
also are you running the dx 11 patch or high res textures? i dont think the textures will matter but dx 11 might...

Yeah its up to date with patches and has dx11

The odd thing is, gpu utilization is always up around 80% but i get low fps. if i turn all the graphics down to their lowest settings, i still only get 45 fps

well i have 97%+ usage all the time, i dont know what the 20% difference relates to in fps. Since crysis is your only problem i would suggest to temporarily remove the dx11 patch and all the updates and see what utilization you get then. :)

my crysis2 also runs poorly, gpu utilization keeps dropping from 90% to 70% and bellow sometimes. when utilization drop so does the fps.
On the third map, in a cutscene when helicopter landed i was getting full 99% utilization and 45fps - when helicopter left the scene my utilization dropped to 80% and fps to 28.
I am running legit Origin version with the latest patches, including DX11 and Hi Res Textures.

if you installed everything including CCC from the 12.7 and not only the "display driver", you shouldnt have the switchable graphics configuration. can you confirm this?

like i said see if you can remove all patches (game, texture, dx11) and try it then. Im going to download the high res textures tonight and see if that makes a difference. im not going to use the dx11(what does it do for you exactly?) patch or game patches because i dont plan to play online

well nobody told me, but lots of users have reported problems regarding using the full drivers. i guess your just one lucky guy :D

Nope, no issues. I don't know why people are telling you this, there is no issues with the CCC and switchable.

The problem is not the drivers or CCC, it's the intel drivers you need from the original Clevo drivers.

so, pardon me if i am asking the obvious (i dont want to reformat again) if i revert the intel drivers back to the original ones that came with the system. Then install the whole 12.7 beta package, it should work?

You probably should. Cause you are spreading FUD.

Yes, but install the Clevo package first as if you were to use the INF from Clevo to install the Intel drivers, it will also install the drivers for 7970M. You have to do it after. All the official drivers I've seen do not include these terrible Intel drivers. Probably some legal issues around it.

I'm running the latest Intel SG 8.15.10.2770 beta from the AMD 12.x 9.00 package.

I had to manually edit the driver to force install on Windows 7 as it is setup for Windows 8.

hate to be accusing someone of talking crap, but that sounds like bs. even with a fully functioning 7970m (like in AW m17x), which has been heavily overclocked you do not get those framerates. feel free to prove me wrong.

same with 4xAA,if I turn off utlization go down

No it's not. It's because of the muxless system. Even with Optimus, lower performance with muxless than muxed.

hulawafu is once again is spreading bs. 680m with optimus has no such issues, despite being muxless on clevo EM series, just like 7970m. you cant deny under-utilization affects performance in a bad way, msi afterburner graphs dont lie.

I just got my Clevo P150EM today and the performance has been a non stop disapointment pretty much...

Doesn't matter what settings I have on Diablo 3, the utilization is around 35-60%, fps with vsync is mostly 25-30, sometimes spiking to 60 to then drop right away. Without vsync the fps is usualy 100+ but still far from smooth, choppy and a very wierd stuttering on the screen all the time

I have Kombuster running in the background but that doesn't help squat. Both kombuster and Diablo 3 is set to high performance, high performance set when charge is connected. The drivers are from Clevos website, I used the ones from the CD before but that was pretty much the same.

Presseing FN+1 doesn't do squat, neither does pressing FN+esc. All drivers from the CD installed. I ordered it from a Swedish reseller.

This is great, the computer is more effective as a paper wight rather than a gaming machine :(
