Hi sorry I have been busy lately...I plan to make the upgrade very soon, I just need to get the money first. Then I will contact most likely Kobalt computers in UK to take advantage of the low value of the GBP...

    Hi cookie!
Here in europe the best price as of now it is rightly from Kobalt rather than Clevo DE or UK !!
I think that however I'll buy from ebay some other pieces..

Oh! I found a piece that I think we need to mod the rear part..it is part n.6-33-M570S-021 "IO bracket DVI sus430 M570T" from the service manual..

"IO bracket DVI sus430 M570T"? Hm, what is that?

I will probably buy the motherboard and GPU heatsink from Kobalt next wednesday...Then I will buy a CPU from Ebay and RAM I will buy here in Norway as it's pretty cheap.

Also, I'll probably buy a SATA DVD-drive from eBay. Then I'll have to buy a dremel to expand the S-Video hole to fit HDMI. Total price estimate would be around 7500NOK (1200USD) for me... I also have to pay 25% tax on everything that I purchase from outside of Norway.

    Exam passed with 30/30!
Now I'll study the mod deeply...
I think that I'll wait any confirmation of M98XT (ATi 4870) first..
Make all this mod to have a "old" model doesn't make sense..

Discovered that CPU fan module has been updated with a 5000rpm fan against a 4200rpm of M570RU module...
wander if this could cause problems...
However it is very loud as of now! let's figure it out @ 5000rpm!!

Anyone knows where is the LCD attached to mobo ???

KobaltUK hasn't been answering me for 10 days!! I don't know how to contact them, I've tried sales and support and neil @kobaltcomputers.co.uk but nothing!

I was thinkin that I haven't the 100% certainty to make it work..and spending 900€ for nothing will be crazy!
    If anyone could reassure me...

Hi again oile, I got your PM. I'll ask them today...

I myself am planning on purchasing everything within 2 weeks. Hopefully it ships fast, and I'll get it together within a month from now.

I also hope the GBP goes a bit lower within the next week...If not then maybe I'll wait even more.

Neil hasn't anwered yet. I'll send a mail to their sales department.

    Here's the parts I need:
    - NP5797-motherboard
    - CPU heatsink that fits with the motherboard
    - Part no: 6-33-M570S-021 (“ID BRACKET DVI SUS430 M570T” ;)
    - CPU fan module that fits with the NP5797 motherboard

Let me know if I have forgotten anything.

Yes, maybe Neil is on vacation or something...don't know really.

And Blacky, I am from Norway. I've tried many other resellers from belgium, netherlands, germany and france. Many of them seemed very unserious. Their spelling and everything was bad. Also many of them suddenly stopped replying midways throughout the e-mail conversation. Kobalt on the other hand, seems to be serious people and they have excellent communication.

Okay since Kobalt doesn't want to answer, I'll need another reseller to buy the parts from...preferrably in the UK or in Europe, somewhere close to Norway...any ideas?

But This fact is VERY strange !!! Anyone is able to contact them ????

However there is Clevo UK and CLevo DE..both have the mobo @ 240€ net (+19% tax for me.. :( )

There are many resellers in Clevo guide but the ones who sell pieces are very little !!

I tried sending them a mail now...This seems to be the last chance. If they won't reply, I'll have to buy from Xotic, Eurocom or RJTech. And the shipping will be damn expensive...also the USD is very strong compared to my currency at the moment so I really don't want to do it this way...

Also, oile, have you tried PMing neil here at the forums? I did it just now...we'll see if they will reply or not.

Yea he answered my mail now. All I need now is the payment info so I can send the money via Wire Transfer...hopefully the parts will arrive next week. I've also bought a QX9300 off of eBay just now...It's shipping tomorrow.

Total price for all parts + CPU off eBay came to: £490 = 728USD = ~5000NOK. I have to pay 25% tax also, so that means total price will be 6250NOK. That's quite expensive just to get a quad core...So it will probably be a long time until I upgrade again. I just hope the difference between the T7200 to the QX9300 will be worth it.

It seems that is not only "cut corners" but "cut an entire part" on the right from USB rear place
The new "esata-usb" is larger on the right side, so there is to cut also a small part in the upper part of the chassis
