Malibal 6990m in stock and ready to ship?

I am sorry, but for me it sounds a bit unreal 67C with the 203. That is about 20C less than the lowest level to the date. What have you done, to make the 6990m run so cool? I am sorry, but it is hard to believe for me. If you were a non reseller, it would make it quite easier for me. If this temps are true, congratulation.

 

Those seem possible to me. There are others posting similar results.

I have the p150hm and get similar results as those. i was at 86 after 10 mins of furmark and in the low 70's running 3dmark11/3dmark06/3dmark Vantage back to back to back.

I was playing The Witcher 2 for about 4 hours the other night and maxed out at 84.

The only difference are two little mounting brackets.

Wonder why the temps are so different. It would be good to know how long folks had been using the laptop before running tests, too.

When will you be receiving your laptop, Tuesday? If so posts some temps to keep me busy, I can't wait any longer for my 6990M lol. Hopefully by Friday I'll have my laptop and I'll be happy.

I wonder if Malibal is also doing the 100$ off if your laptop is over 1500$ for orders that haven't yet shipped. Definately wishful thinking but maybe they'd apply it towards the current upgrade option for people willing to take the 580 over 6990, or in my case towards getting a version of windows with my order haha. Next thursday/friday can't come soon enough.. dying to try some of these games I've bought on my new computer since this one can't run any of them

 

Ya I have all this stuff I ordered for my laptop that I can't use games, mouse ETC. lol.

 

I haven´t seen such results so far with the 203.

That makes me wonder too. What does make the big temp differences?

I don´t want to flame negatives vibes. But what in my opinion attract negative attention is:
three very interesting threads were deleted by nbr:

1. high temps 6990m
2. best driver 6990m
3. which heatsink for 6990m is better?

And suddenly everything seems to be ok with the 6990m and the 203. Would somebody be so kind, to clear things up?

I know the rules says, that nobody should speak in bad words (or similar) in threads, but a forum lives from freedom of expression.

 

All three were created by a user who was banned or deleted his/her account is my best guess. NBR doesn't just up and delete posts talking about things in a bad light, look at all the Kobalt PC threads in Reseller Feedback!

Best driver was found to be Clevo's own drivers by NBR member Mirabis, check my post for the spreadsheet he made.
The high temps thread was useless. I read through it all and the person was complaining about temperatures in the 80°C range, which goes to show some people do not do their research when it comes to laptop GPUs...

The "which heatsink" thread I did not catch. But already Sager is saying their conclusion is backed up by several samples and test results, so I would take their word for it. Still, I can deal with waiting a week for the 204 heatsink, because I got a ton of free upgrades for waiting.

ah, ok, haven´t seen it. Good temps. May be next time you´ll be able to write the roomtemps down. That would have make it easier for all to compare with.

I try to asked malibal how they managed it, to have such less temps in comparative to the ones from 8/24/11 (80C to 64C).
Reading around I noticed that the good temps 64C has also 10C less CPU temps.

And now I stop....

 

Any news on when the -204 equipped P150HM will ship? Tuesday was mentioned as the day the heatsinks arrived at your facility.
Had I known there was no thermal difference between the 2, I would have kept the -203 revision! Oh well...

Im honestly not sure what to think. Really just needed a laptop more than anything, decided to splurge to get something I would consider actually worth having. Now, im kinda regretting my decision some as im almost halfway through my second week of this semester at school, and my assignments are starting to stack up like hotcakes. Even worse, if they don't go out by Thursday its gonna be a long holiday weekend. I still have faith im getting a quality product, but had I known it would've been this long I may have bought something else and saved the money up and gotten it perhaps around christmas.

I definately appreciate Malibals dedication to help resolve the heating issues with the 6990 cards.. but I was also under the impression that if we swapped to the 580 card our systems would be sent out quicker since there are really no issues to be delt with. I guess if I dont get it by Friday I'll probably just end up changing my order back to the 6990 and continue waiting while hoping for the best in regards to heat/driver support for the AMD.

 

yeah, when they offered to swap the 580M, one of the reasons why I accepted was because they said that I would receive the laptop earlier.

 

Sigh... I'm really tired of this. I thought Malibal would ship by today at latest for the 204s, since that's when they said they'll probably ship it. Should've gone with the 203...

If it ships Friday... It's another long weekend without the laptop. Jeez.

 

If you stayed with the -203 it didn't matter, Malibal didn't ship out any laptops with the -203 heatsink because I never put myself on the -204 list. Also has anyone who switched over to the 580M got their laptop yet, I thought they were suppose to ship on Monday/Tuesday or something if you did?

 

Apparently they've been shipping the 580m since Monday. I have no idea realistically when I can get my laptop now.. Since it seems like the shipping date is constantly pushed back.

 

I would have gotten my laptop (6990M with -203) last friday if I hadn't switched to the 580M (they were ready to issue me a tracking #). According to Malibal, they will be shipping out my laptop today.

 

Are you sure? I stayed with the -203 heatsink and I don't have my laptop yet. I think they decided not to ship out any -203 heatsinks, unsure why.

 

Hi, about 5 orders shipped out today from those on here who had a 6990m and changed to a 580m. A couple more will ship tomorrow. And hopefully the rest on Friday. Thanks for your patience. I know it's been a long time but it will be well worth the wait!

I got a tracking# for my laptop cooler yesterday. Still waiting as patiently as I can for my P170HM and 204 HS.

 

I'm really interested in seeing what the performance will be with a RAID 0 on the Hybrid SSD/HDD drives. 8 GB SSD/ 1TB HDD raid 0 should scream.

 

Has anyone with the 6990M received a tracking number yet? I know quite a few of the 580M's have gone out, as some people even got their laptops today.

 

When did you order, swimmer? I have no tracking number yet...ordered on July 31st.

 

Aug 3, I have not received mine yet either.

 

We working on getting all of the P150HM orders shipped no later than tomorrow for delivery no later than Saturday. There are a couple P170HM's that might not make it out this week, though.

 

Will any 6990M's make it out today, I know you guys send out the tracking numbers at around 9pm eastern, cause that's when lazard got his yesterday for his 580m.

Hmm, I don't think anyone with the 6990M received a tracking number today. I can't believe they are going to try and send them all out tomorrow.

 

I hope they do. I pre-ordered mine on July 30 and I am getting tired of waiting. They keep pushing back the shipping dates. I really hope to see an email from Malibal tomorrow with a shipping number.

 

Was really hoping I'd see my tracking number tonight when I got home from work.. esp since I upgraded to the 580 thinking it'd speed things along. I'm thinking about just changing back over to the 6990 at this point since it doesn't seem like the delivery time will be any different.

 

I just had a chat with a MALIBAL agent and I was told that they have a shortage of P170HM models and that my order is not shipping today. They are expecting to get more cases early next week.

Last week (8/25) I was told that my order had been ready 4 days before and I was asked if I wanted it shipped with the 203 heat sink. I decided to wait for the 204's to arrive. I was told that apparently, they used my system for a different order that was ready to ship. Now that they have the heat sinks, they do not have a case for my order. Delayed once again.

The agent also said that they might have some units of the P170HM 3D version in stock but you need an Nvidia GPU for those. Lastly, they are shipping out a bunch of P150hm's today.

I thought I'd share the info I received in case anyone else is curious.

Hey guys

I got my notebook! It does have the Malibal name below the LCD screen but it is crooked? I don't know why some have the name underneath the LCD and other don't, would love for Malibal to chime in.

I have a few questions, cause it somewhat overwhelming for me.

1. Do I do the system preparation tool 3.14 - enter system out of the box experience (OOBE)?

2. Do I install the driver disk that come with the notebook or is my system already install with it. I have no trouble accessing sound or internet, etc...

3. Where can I find all the system information. I can't see my 580m anywhere.

4. Should I and do I need to upgrade to the latest Nvidia Driver?

5. Does anyone here use the fingerprint reader? Does it ever fail to read and prevent you from accessing? That my only fear, it is a neat feature though.

6. Where is the option driver (button) on the notebook, I need it for the THX TruStudio Pro AP

7. What does discharge mean. It said on the manual to fully discharge before charging it.

8. What free virus protection do I used? I cannot find that thread where someone ask the same thing and there were answer.

9. What bloatware should I delete from my computer. I don't know which is bloatware and which is not. Malibal install for me heaven benchmark, CPUID HWMonitor, Furmark, 3DMarkVantage, 3DMark 06, 3D Mark 11. I have something call Kevin and Kevin 2 test. A little worry my temperature was 97c or something on those test and average fps of the 580m was 17fps so I don't know.

Lastly are there any other things I need to do?

not sure what Kevin and Kevin 2 is. The rest I would keep. Check your GPU through HWmonitor or GPU-Z. I requested a MALIBAL logo on both cover and below LCD bezel--hopefully everything is fine!
