Quick question, but it says that Mythlogic offers a 3% cash discount, same as Malibal. But is that included in the price you see when configuring a system, or is there some other method you have to go through if you want to use it?

When you go through checkout if you pick a payment method that falls under the 3% your total will be automatically updated.

    Hey,

Yes we do ship to Europe and we use either USPS or UPS as the courier, the only fees to pay besides shipping is whatever local taxes and duties that may be applicable.

After price (which seems to be so close in comparison to all the vendors), I base my purchasing decision on the satisfaction of previous customers. It makes it VERY hard reading through all these forums, because all the vendors I've looked at have been super active at NBR, and all of their customers just rave about the service. I am leaning towards one vendor, since they are geographically closer to me, but in fairness the differences seem so minimal I think I'd be happy with whoever I choose.

Also check out ResellerRatings and the Better Business Bureau, these are good places you can read reviews from customers or check out a companies rating.

I've been playing around on Malibal's website, and can't seem to find any option to buy zero dead pixel insurance. If this is true, they are the only ones not offering this. Am I just missing it?

That's odd, Malibal should have an option for that. I'm reasonably sure they do offer that (though most likely you don't need it).

Get your post count up to 5 posts, wait overnight, and then PM them :)

All I have to add is that MALIBAL is great and easy to deal with, ship fast, test out all the hardware and I'm 100% satisfied with my purchase.
I never dealt with MYTHOLOGIC, but I hear they are good too.
I just looked for the cheapest price for the specs I wanted and I would buy from MALIBAL again in the future.

Yes it does seem that MALIBAL is the cheapest around. And i think the reason why Mythologic is so expensive is that they are not a reselling, they actually build the machines in house from scratch.

I after much research, I'm going with Mythlogic. I have bought from xoticpc before and they make it seem they are builders when they are not. the same config with xoticpc and mythlogic is about 150 dollar difference. They do have 3% discount and that's about it which is fine with me. Also Mythlogic notified me they will be able to calibrate the screen even if they don't have the OS installed. And if I like they can install my MS copy of Win7 if I provide the key. Win in my book.

I cancelled an order with Malibal about 2 months ago and after talking with Josh from Mythlogic thru email ever since then I finally placed my order on Monday. My experiences with Malibal and Mythlogic were both great. They are both great companies and seem to have knowledgeable people working for them in my opinion. Everyone's experiences are different, but for me personally, I seemed to have a friendlier and more personable experience in my dealings with Mythlogic. In Malibals defense, on another thread they apologized for any customer service issues and stated they are fixing the issue.

To sum it up, in my opinion of course :), Mythlogic wins but Malibal is in a close 2nd.

think I'm personally going to go with Malibal but just because I know someone with one and they're nothing but satisfied with their purchase. I have looked around and everything looks very similar. When it comes down to it it seems like there is no difference in price as they all pricematch, so shipping is one factor. To me the only factor is knowing that someone I know has experience with one. I wouldn't hesitate to go with any though.

Does Malibal offer special NBR member discounts? Or is that just Xotic that does? I am new to all of this. I used to only get PC desktops and Mac notebooks. Now I'm looking to get a relatively cheap gaming laptop. I have windows ultimate so I am able to save money on that. I am hoping I can get further discounts (I am planning on doing wire transfer for 3% discount) because the thought of spending a ton of money on a laptop scares me (due to seeing friends' laptops break with the quickness). Here's the configuration and price I am looking at from Malibal:

    Promotions: $50 Off Any Configuration
Display: 15.6" 1920 x 1080 FHD LED Backlit Matte Display
    Processor: Intel® Core™ i7-2630QM, 6MB L3 Cache, 2.0-2.9GHz
    Memory: (8GB) 8192MB, PC3-10660/1333MHz DDR3 - 2 SO-DIMM
    Graphics Card: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 560M 1.5GB GDDR5
    Hard Drive: 750GB 7200rpm 2.5" SATA 300
Optical Drive Bay: 8X Multi DVD+/-R/RW RAM Dual-Layer Drive
Wireless: Internal 802.11B/G/N LAN and Bluetooth Card
Cooling: Stock OEM Thermal Compound, CPU & GPU
    Build Time: 5-7 Business Days
Warranty: LIFETIME Ltd. Labor and 1 Year Parts Warranty with 24/7 Support (USA)
    Total price: $1029

That was a blazing fast response, I think you might have singed my eyelashes. I hope that in my next purchase from you guys (After the one I will be going through with when I get all my ducks lined up in a row) I can go all out. Does my configuration look reasonable to you guys? I am burnt out from researching and need a little confidence boost. I found out about Malibal thanks to Reddit.com btw. You guys should add that as an option to answer the "How did you hear about us?" survey question.

Hi, I might bump up the wireless card to an Intel 6230, but other than that - it looks like a nice build. Also, we added reddit - thanks for the feedback. :)

My pleasure, I enjoy giving feedback that is found useful (it was only a matter of time before you guys added it on your own, idk how many employees your company has, but I can only imagine there's more than enough work to go around).

You say "I might bump up the wireless card to an Intel 6230". Hmmm, time to do some more research, this time on wireless cards. I just figured the stock one would do the trick, since I will almost exclusively be using this laptop near the router. I am completely ignorant when it comes to wireless cards. Thanks for the tip man.

I also don't plan on using the laptop anywhere far from the router, and don't really expect to ultilize as much as 150 Mbp/s, so basiscally I just want a wireless card that does not break down before my laptop does, and can maintain a stable connection. How's the stock card's durability, and ability to maintain a stable connection for a long period of time? Does the Intel 6230, beside the ability to transfer at faster speed and get connection from further away, have any other benefit that's better than stock card?

Besides Malibal who offers several keyboard language & layout?
Besides MYTHLOGIC who offers the P180H with dual 6990M?
Besides RJTECH who offers barebone noteboks?

I've a VERY good memory. This was long time ago and not Clevo but:
"Justin XXXXXX - XOTIC PC 08/09/08
Pedro, Thank you for your email.

Unfortunately a different language keyboard is not currently available on the OCZ EXTREME 840 (Built on Flextronics / Arima W840 DI / OCZ OCZNBIM17A) L"

And I bought from another seller that provided me the keyboard layout I wanted.

I bought 8 notebooks since then (of course not all of them for me, for friends and family) and I never considered Xotic again. Not saying it's not good, I liked the reviews and wanted to buy but no option available...

I'm in Europe and I buy all of my notebooks in US, way cheaper of course, even with taxes and shipping, but usually I go there on vacations and just bring it with me. Most times I save more then $1000.

Not everyone is a native English speaker, it's a huge market you are missing, internet is global. I suggest you all add a keyboard layout option to your websites just like Malibal, Eurocom and some few others have. I bet you would have more sales...

Some Notebooks, as the one you mentioned above (OCZ/Arima), is not a Clevo and are more difficult to get alternate keyboards. Clevo's are fortunately easy to obtain and can be provided easily as was commented on above. :)

    Wondering:

    - Does Mythlogic price match?

    - Does Mythlogic offer a matte screen for non-nVidia GPUs? I am interested in 6990m + matte screen but the website says "only for nVidia processors."

    - I am very interested about the Malibal NBR discount. Please PM me for details as I am in the process of getting an order very soon (birthday next month, present to self, ing awesome).

And I am deciding where to take my business. :D

Mythlogic provides a number of premium services, such as custom coating, monitor calibration, ic diamond compound as their default package. They also give more options for HDDs and SSDs, which are not available elsewhere. There are also perks like Phoenix Upgrade plan and others, that constitute their higher price. So they probably can't pricematch to MALIBAL, because they provide only a part of those services. Not sure if they would pricematch to XoticPC, who also can do paintjobs.

-Not sure about the screen. I guess you are looking at P170HM. The best thing to do would be to contact Mythlogic and ask them about it.

-First of all, nobody can PM you. You need 5 posts to allow personal messages on this forum. When you get 5 posts, you should PM MALIBAL yourself to get details about their NBR discounts.

Thank you to everyone for their input. This entire thread has been very helpful. I am glad to say that both options look great.

Free shipping, was it UPS ground? Regardless free is free, and I'd rather not pay $40-60 USD for shipping.

And also looking forward to your review. Post specs, will ya.

I have had all my questions answered by Malibal. So far they have been the most helpful out of all the Sager/Clevo carriers I have talked with.

    This is just personal experience.

I will order next month and all will be well.

I just purchased a P151HM1 from Malibal. Haven't received it yet, but I'm quite impressed by their response time!

I had to cancel my first order because my bank is a bit squirrelly with money transfers. I emailed them at about 8:45pm and by 9pm they had already cancelled the order and let me know.

I'm looking forwards to getting the laptop, it ought to be a huge jump from what I have now. :)

is it me or Mythlogic appears to have a high price for P151 ($1,503.20)
Despite they offer free custom paint, screen calibration, ICD
and the default components are i7 2620m, 4gb ram, 250gb hdd and 25$ cheaper for screen upgrade
