I had long lost hope of overvolting this card in the P150EM, and haven't checked these forums in a while, but it sounds like it's actually possible now? Has there been any luck with modded VBIOS? Is there anywhere with instructions on how to mod it, or anywhere I can find modded VBIOS? This is awesome if it is in fact finally possible.
-
last i heard, ull need the most current version of ati winflash to read/write the vbios on the em series? once u got that, u can always contact svl7 over at the techinferno forums, maybe drop a lil donation for a beer and let him modify the vbios to up the voltage

jaybee83, svl7 always busy , he is not respond on pms) where to find another vbios modder
? I have P150EM , with atiwinflash I can read / write vbos without any problems.
-
haha well that doesnt surprise me, hes always high in demand, especially now with the 780m being out
u guys should contact meaker, iirc he had a modded 7970m vbios for the em series, but at that time it wasnt possible yet to flash it (at least not for regular EM users, he himself just used his good ol acer to read/write the vbios of his 7970m at that time)

I'll have a look in the bios bin to see if I have it there.
-
thanks Meaker , if you still have p150em machine , you can save your 1.1v vbios by using ati winflash. All P1x0EM owners will be very grateful to you

Lol no, I go through systems pretty quick, it's certainly looking in the bios bin which is currently stored on an external drive which I have to fish out, i'll try having a look tomorrow.
-

Not a problem, if it works or bricks it, let people know
-
works fine without any problems ! can push OC higher
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Cool, I never want to create problems
-
Don't suppose you have a voltage modifying bios for p170em Meaker?
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
That is an EM bios, I only have a standard HM vbios.
-
-
vbios has no connection to ur cpu or xtu functionality
@coca: how far can u push ur clocks now? and what was the max. at stock voltage?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2 -
jaybee83 , before was 930-1375 stable ! wth 1.1v I can go 980 - 1450 , but I like be on safe side so I stay on 950 - 1420
Attentionusers with P150EM 7970m vbios date August 2012 got problems with this modded vbios (like BSODS on reboot and functionality 7970m)
My stock vbios was older , so I dont have any problems! -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Head over to tech inferno if you need the file guys.
-
Thanks a lot Meaker.
Although on Tech Inferno I can only find the old Dell 7970M vbios pack. Is that what you're talking about, or is there a thread I'm missing? -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
You will need to ask svl7, it was his originally and he did not want it on here. Just send him a pm or put it on the forum.
-
Does anyone have the stock bios 7970m p150em?
-
I have a stock VBIOS for 7970M from my P170EM (should be the same as for P150EM). Mind you, my card runs at 0.975V at stock (it overclocks nicely though, to 950/1400, possibly more, but I haven't tried it).

Warning to anybody looking to flash the VBIOS previously posted. Coca gave a warning about not flashing it if your VBIOS date is Dec 2012. I ran into issues with an Aug 2012 date.

How you solved the problem with the vbios from August 2012?
When flashing vbios forgot to save the stock. Now I can not find this vbios -
Hi all,
I work very hard to buy my Clevo p150em + amd 7970m (1 time i have a monster computer )
i read your posts about change the amd 7970 clock and voltage.. and i like to know if works good and about the temps too??
PS: Sorry my English.. -
temps are fine , but first of all try to OC without voltage, maybe you will get good result , 930-950 gpu 1350-1400 memory - safe clocks
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Sounds like a good plan to me, should net you enough performance for todays titles, that ram speed will help a lot.
-
Ok mate,
I will use Afterburner and clock my 7970m how i know its stable without problems?? BSO appear because bug overclocks?
PS: the vbios update your clocks direct on 7970 so you dont need a program right?
Can you give me a bather explanation
Sorry to upset you people! -
Just use afterburn clock 950 - 1400mhz play bf4 for 1hourn and dident see a BSO or a black screen!thets good right? (the bf4 runs more fast now)
this is a safe clock??m
PS: the max temps i get before the overclock my 7970m was 65º now with overclock i its 75º/80 This temps are ok mate?? BIG TKS IN ADVANCE!! -
I game at 1000/1400 at a higher voltage then stock in the high 80s. You are fine with those temps.
-
How long you use thet overclock MKEGuy?? i dont understand about voltage clock, and i need a safe overclock because i cant buy another one!! =/
Tks for your feedback my friend.. im waiting more from coca too -
Since right after I started first asking about voltage mods in this thread. If you scroll back in this thread, look at the date adn add a week or two to that. Been running it ever since with no issues. Awesome 3DMark11 score for my 3630qm processor too!

-
Ok coca 950 - 1400 are amazing for me!! is bather to flash vbios now? or i use the afterburn always? dident change my voltage!! any opinion about this one?
PS: overclock amd 7970m (950 - 1400) reduce the life??
BIG TKS -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Keeping it at stock volts for 24/7 is the safest bet.

While agree I'm excited to see Mantle - I still find it hard to believe we are giong to see a 20% increase across the board. Dont get me wrong I'd be stoked to take my nearly full ultra playing to over 70 FPS from the 58 its at now, but I just dont see it happening for some reason. I'm sure there will be instances that will provide a 20% return, but I think either they are overly optimistic or people have mislead themselves through the grape vine.
Time will tell. Aren't they supposed to go live with this in BF4 in December I thought I had heard? Not 100% on that as its just something I thought I had read. I haven't been keeping up on it.geko95gek likes this. -
Mantle update for Battlefield 4 will be realesed in late December!
Sorry my english is not so good -
BIG TKS IN ADVANCE FOR HELP ME HERE!
PS: It will be possible use the Nvidia 780M on clevo p150? prema is testing?? -
