There is a program that lets you OC the refresh rate of a monitor.

    That is f.. amazing.. 90HZ :)

PS: Here's the problem with overclocking most LCD panels: You might get 100 hz but it likely is dropping frames like crazy so you're not getting anything extra. This is the case with most panels unless they have circuitry that can handle that.

    Can you confirm this?

And you get the Problem, that the Memory-Clock of the 7970m stays on 1200Mhz when you overclock the Display.
It result in permanent Fan spinning! :/

I haven't been noticing any frame drops.

    Your experience may vary though.

Do not have that issue with the 8970M.

is this guide created for external monitors only?

i added some 70 75 805 hz steps and after the restart, in the monitor control panel it only shows 50 and 60hz which are default.

tried from, intel graphics media control panel as well under 'custom resolutions' said i didn't have the bandwidth to add even + 5hz

The Intel drivers lock it down, I have not heard of anyone getting round it.

Would it be possible to do on the monitor side of things? Modify the firmware if the LCD to up the refresh rate?
