If you want to overclock your processor, for example [email protected] up to 3164MHz (RAM@1066 up to 1333MHz), you need to raise FSB speed from stock 266Mhz up to 333Mhz. And you can do this by following next procedure:

You need to solder RED (pic.1) with GREEN (pic.2) thru 2 KOhm resistor.

    pic.1
    [IMG]

    pic.2
    [IMG]

It should look like this (or better):

PS Try this at your own risk. soldering requires good skill.

    По методике великого и ужасного Pain_666 ;)

If your just raising FSB. Why not use Audigy's software tool?
Any benefit to doing it this way?

@Milo I tried several times before with similar way to get H but no success...Do you have any pics of CPUZ etc? And is 1.05V in B + a 2K Resistor enough to pull the signal to high?

So you just solder Pic. A to Pic. B and thats it. No software or any tuning adjustment needed? Will this work with my gpu that is overclocked and overvolted? Man, this is very tempting.

This is idea of how to cheat the clock generator... It has nothing to do with gpu and overs about it.

Sorry that I didn't make myself clear. I meant by doing this would I still be able to overclock and overvolt my gpu considering the Clevo M860TU is known to have such a tight power limit.

as this changes the fsb, everything in the system will be automatically overclocked. You will want to put your gpu back to stock clocks first, although probably leave the overvolt, as this mod will give a 25% overclock on your entire system

Cause it's just an FSB bump to the next pre defined default value, all system buses such the PCI, PCI-e, SM, SATA, IDE, MCH(Memory), etc, remain at stock.

I'm trying in my M570RU too... but 266 on the FSB is to much for both the chipset and my T7700... 239 is the best lower choice, despite the lowering on all system buses of their default clock, 5/10% should be ok...

If I may add for those new to soldering, you might want to solder some 16-18 gauge insulated wire to the ends of the resistor and then wrap it in heat shrink tubing. Also, apply some hot glue to the solder points on the motherboard when finished.

    switch is not that necessary.
If you cpu will be unstable on 333Mhz FSB bus - u can use RMClock to lower cpu multiplier.

Is it possible to attain a different FSB than 333 MHz? It seems like going yet even higher is possible, but how about getting a FSB of 300 MHz?

anyone tried this on M570TU ? from service manual

    BSEL2 BSEL1 BSEL0 Frequency
    0_____0____1_____533 MHz
    0_____1____1_____667 MHz
    0_____1____0_____800 MHz
    0_____0____0_____1066 MHz

thinking maybe strapping BSEL2=1 will give 1333 MHz

    1_____0____0_____1333 MHz

the creator said that the montevina platform will not be supported due to some incompatibilities. so will have to make due with the 200mhz increase with the RTM876-660 pll.

I did the mod, but my laptop seems unstable at 3.2GHz.

Would a resistor with more resistance lower the FSB?
