Ya well i did not buy a sager. (Well i did ,The Importer is sager) But one from RJTech. That is unbranded.

thats why i used Clevo's numbers and not Sagers. :)

what a mess, different reselers With different model numbers.....same hardware.

Welcome to the world of Clevo.....LOL

Can anyone tell me the difference between the D900T and C motherboards? Are they both rated about the same? Its looking like the q6600 g0 is looking like it might work as long as the heat is kept down. If thats the case could I use the D900T motherboard?Or should i get a D900C mobo? If i have to get a D900C mobo how different is it from the T as i have a D900T case, Will it fit?

The biggest difference is the D900T used the Pentium 4 processor and has been discontinued for several months (for complete specifications go to http://www.powernotebooks.com/specs/Sager/9890specs.php) while the D900C (blue) and D901C (black) is the current model using the Core2 Duo and Quad processors (for complete specifications go to http://www.powernotebooks.com/specs/Sager/9261specs.php). The D900C/D901C has different motherboard versions with V4.x supporting Core2 Duo, V5.x supporting the Core2 Quad, and V6.x supporting the 8800M.

They are totally different cases, so a D900C/D901C motherboard will not work in a D900T.

Are the mobos a different layout or shape? Or are they physicly identical?

I think what he means is that very few other laptops (besides Clevo models) are commonly called by both the ODM and the OEM names/numbers. Only a few Arima models really, and even that's not nearly as common as the Clevo designations.

My initial machine was a d900c (bought in Portugal). It is just the same but different colour (not as prety IMHO). Keep your kiss though :)

    My reseller is WebServInfor (Portugal).

    Here is the link:

    http://webservinfor.com/php/product_info.php?cPath=44&products_id=741

I bought it in August (very end of July). Since then I changed to the d901c due to all sorts of reasons not directely related to the model itself. But I do prefer the Clevo in Black rather then Blue, I'm glad that I ended up with it.

Is there a way to determine which version of the D901c motherboard I have. I just had my Sager 9261 with the Q6600 processor with the two 8700's in SLI mode delivered. However, I think I want to upgrade to the 8800's in SLI but I am not sure if I can upgrade without a motherboard upgrade.

hunkburger, if you just had it delivered it is the V5.x motherboard that will not support the 8800M video card...actually the new NP9262 is just beginning to take pre-orders for shipment late in December.

At this point you have two options:
    1. Wait until mid-January when the upgrade program starts
    2. Return the NP9261 that you just received for a full refund (less shipping costs) and place a pre-order for the new NP9262 with the 8800M and wait for it to ship later this month.

Hey, all. It's a sad, sad, day, but I need to sell my Xtreme 917V quad. It's been used lightly and sparingly and still has 1/2-year on its one year warranty (2.5 years damage protection on the LCD). No stability problems or BSODs. No dings or marks. Taken care of like a fragile treasure. I don't want to clutter up this forum with re-submitting all of the details about my notebook, but if any of you are interested in this I'll send you the details and answer all questions I can before I put it up on eBay later this week or early next.

I needed to move to a MacBook Pro in order to take advantage of aggregating firewire devices to get the number of audio channels I need to make my recording business competitive and there's just no support for that on a windows machine (none that I could find, anyway).

I'm insanely bummed that I have to get rid of my super-laptop, but there's just no sense in keeping two high-end notebooks in my office, especially when I could use cash for tax season.

I have had a hard time finding the time just to prepare this machine to list. Anyway, I don't think I have the time to maintain two seperate listings, so it's out on ebay. If interested, just filter for Clevo brand laptops... it's the only one out there right now listed under Clevo.

I'll miss you guys! You have been very helpful and this is certainly one of the most polite and helpful forums of which I have been a member. Take care!!!
